    Ran distance events in track and wrestled varsity in high school. Ran cross country in college. Learned the game of basketball in intramural at college and played many basketball tournaments, city leagues and noon ball at the local YMCA till I was 65. Started running sprints at seniors meets around the country about 9 years ago. I have 7 grandkids that I love dearly.

  1. Two summers ago I started a new hobby (sport) you may or may not find interesting. I wanted to compete in a track event at the Cornhusker State Games and decided to easiest event might be the 50 Meter sprint. I didn't place in the top three so I decided to work my butt off the next winter and was in much better shape going into spring.       huKSer....I know what you mean. I'm sure someone college age would look at these seniors meets and laugh. Last year at the National Meet in Minneapolis the mens age 60-64 (my age group) had a winning time of 6.68 in the 50 M and 8th place was 7.22. The 100 M final was won in 11.91. These are guys nearing retirement age.
