  1. As in Him standing there and watching someone in your family get killed by a drunk driver.
  2. That was yeaterday Today T_O_B wins. You're full of Bull. I win Do you? Nope, I win.
  3. You deserve all of the thanks for making this happen, and for making it fun. Kudos knapplc, for a job well done chief!!!!
  4. Good thing we had Garrison and Stai to teach him.
  5. I wouldn't walk across the street to watch an MMA bout if someone gave me the tickets for free. Just don't find it entertaining. Wrestling is a great sport it's just not a casual spectator sport. Wrestling is probably in the top 3 physically demanding sports along with Cycling and Triathlelons. I am not totally sure I understand this as MMA has wrestling in it? yes and punching and kicking and choaking your opponant into submission. Wrestling is the most ancient of sports and is very popular in a lot of countrys. People that love wrestling and that includes women will watch anytime. If you know the rules and how difficult a sport it is you can really appriciate it. The best thing about wrestling is that you don't have to be tall or big to be good at it. You get out of it what you put into it. If you work hard you can become a pretty decent wrestler. I will never be a great BB player, because I am 5'10" but I wasn't a bad wrestler. I am not that fanatical about it though I coached HS wrestling for about 16 years, rather coach FB Apparently not popular enough to stay an Olympic event. Just sayin.........
  6. Just because you don't like golf doesn't make it not a sport. Oxfords online dictionary defines sport as an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. Golf meets all of that criteria as does fishing and hunting, and I loath hunting and fishing. Just becuase you don't exert yourself cardio vascularly like you do jogging or playing pickup basketball doesn't mean it doesn't require a level of fitness to play. For professional golfers to play at the level that they do does require them to be fit. There is a reason why John Daly is not a top player. It's because he is a big fat slob that drinks a case of diet coke a day and smokes 2 packs a day. But, he is entertaining to watch. Have you ever looked at some of the MLB in the world? That Fielder guy is huge. Half the pitchers are overweight and look like they couldn't run 100 yards. I call BS on the underlined. Try smoking a pack of smoke a day, carry a 50# bag on your shoulder for 5 hours, swing a club 120 times. Your ass will be worn out my friend.
  7. Skilled maybe..... Athletic not so much! See: One John Patrick Daly I consider them athletes.... If John Daly isn't an athlete, than neither is this guy..... he can bench press a Buick and run a 40 yd dash in under 6 seconds! JD can bench press jack and cokes and Marlboros and run a 40yd dash in under a minute. What defines an athlete? I define it as someone participating in sport. Obviously there are different kinds, but a golfer is one with the most skill.... No doubt. I would agree. If you have never played the game, you have no idea how difficult it is. The pro's make it look easy. Personally, it is the hardest thing I have ever done. Not physically, but mentally. Just go to a driving range sometime and hit a bucket of balls and see for yourself. P.S. If you like to drink beer and drive a cart, this game is for YOU!!
  8. If this really does happen, then on Monday the chief offical in charge should review the tape. If he finds that the suspension was unwarranted, the player should be reinstated and the ref who made the call should be suspended for 1 game. This may keep the ref's from making knee jerk calls.
  9. And now they want to do away with wrestling in the Olympics. What a travesty.
  10. This is my first post in this thread, so I win Keep trying. I win. I tried, I win.
  11. Agreed, and let the players pick what they want, not the coaches or administration.
  12. Ask the players what they want, not the fans. Let the players design an alternate uni each year, within certain guidelines. It doesn't matter what we the fans want, it just doesn't matter. A lot of fans disliked last years alt uni's. Guess what, the fans still watched and continued to watch throughout the year. I understand that we are all just sharing our opinions, but this "traditionalist" thing is being way over done. For crying out loud its 2013, not 1983. It's NOT about us when it comes to things like this, never has been. Let the PLAYERS decide.
  13. The grand daddy of professional golf.
  14. And what exactly is a canyon for an arm? I do like his name. Pierre Thats my name, so he would be awesome just for that reason.
  15. They should ask the the players what scheme they would like to see. That way they we would be able to see what a young man is actually envisioning. It has been said on many a thread, that the look so Oregons uni's attract some players or has a small role in it anyway. So I figure if the team comes up with a design, those young men looking at this program will see that NU is just as hip as the next school. It doesn't necessarily matter if "we" agree with a look, but it "does" matter if the kids like it. So that's my idea. Let the players design the uni's.
  16. SCode I get it you like Clapton. He is a great guitarist. I just feel his best most creative work was done with Cream. You know it is not him playing that slide guitar in Lala. That's the late great Duane Alman. Everyone is entitled to his opinion. Clapton was ok, but SRV was much much better.
