  2. 6-7, 245. Winner of Michigan's Sixth Man Award last year. Averaged 5.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 14 minutes per game last year. Scored 12 points and had 5 rebounds in 26 minutes against us.
  3. I was going to say we'd steal the LJS' idea again as they are re-looking at their list and possibly making a few changes. But they did theirs after knapp started this thread so apparently they stole knapp's idea - which he stole from ESPN. At any rate, the off-season is a good time to look at this again. Looking through the list in the OP brings back some great Husker memories. I've tried to add video links to them so if you find a video let us know. Look through the list again to see if any need updated from the last few years and look through the thread to see if any suggestions that are better than the play on the list got missed.
  4. As I've said before, it's early (for us). We'll have to see how this class - and subsequent ones - end up. But I'm just confused by a bunch of the offers I've seen lately. It's quite possible that several of them will turn into really good players. But it's also extremely unlikely that we are finding all these diamonds in the rough when others aren't. A few? Yes. This many? I'm pretty skeptical. If our recruiting is going to improve as much as so many are claiming, we shouldn't need a lot of diamonds in the rough. Of course the other possibility is these are a bunch of un-committable offers. With how many guys are saying we've barely talked to them before offering, I'm starting to think that is a very real possibility. As long as we're being honest with them, I guess that's OK. But I'm not a fan. An un-committable offer really isn't an offer at all so I don't get the point.
  5. Agree. But I doubt a lot of these guys are going to get there. The may be a few but not many. Most will probably be a three star but not a high one.
  6. If we take a bunch of the guys who we've been offering recently, we won't be close to a Top 25 class.
  7. To call it anything but a slow start cannot be anything more than wishful thinking. We're currently #36 according to the 247 Composite. No one ahead of us has fewer commits than we do. Only five schools in the Top 50 have fewer commits than we do. And that's a vast improvement from where we were two weeks ago. Last year at this time we were only a couple days away from our eighth commit and that was a great start (for us) Now whether it's a surprise that we're off to a slow start or not can be debated. I don't think it's a surprise at all. Nebraska is usually slow picking up commits and that would only be expected to be worse with a staff change. But that doesn't change the fact that it's a slow start.
  8. With a class this big there will be a few reaches, you aren't going to get 25 high 3stars and above. But I'd rather reach early on a kid and be N if/when he blows up. Then reach a couple days before NSD. I guess I don't think this is right - at least about getting three stars. High three stars maybe but that's not what we're looking at right now. The 2014 class had 25 members and only one was a two-star according to the 247 Composite (Irons). The 2013 class was 23 guys and only Miller was a two star. I just find it highly unlikely that these guys we are offering dont end up with 3 stars That's fine. But a class full of three star guys isn't an improvement in recruiting over where we've been. In fact, it would probably be a little bit worse. Perhaps the results will be better but that's not the trumpeting we've been hearing for six months.

  11. I don't think that will work out. You have to be back down in numbers before you know if the reaches are going to work out or not. So all your doing is replacing the walk-on guys who've done enough to earn a scholarship with your reaches. I think we'd have a lot better luck with more local guys working out than with bringing in reaches from all over the country.
  12. We're looking at him to possibly play center as well. Another one who said he really hadn't heard much from Nebraska before we offered him.
  13. All of the above. I hope gets the nod at TE. Yep. We want him at TE and that's where he's being recruited by most schools.
  14. Collins also one of the 10 players mentioned who didn't quite make Mel Kiper's Big Board (25 players). So basically a first rounder according the Kiper as well.
  15. Moved several posts discussing offers in general here. Good discussion but needs its own thread.
  16. So because Revenge of the Nerds mentioned bowl games, the Playoff ruined the bowl system. Got it.
  17. So reading the tea leaves... He wants to commit in a few weeks + Has no other visits scheduled + USC/UCLA already have their 16 QBs locked up = Husker Commit Yeah, I think they are just making sure they cover their bases and still waiting to see if he gets any other offers so they look at all their options. But I think he'll be a Husker.
