  1. So they prank second year players now, by a third year player nonetheless?
  2. Barney won't be going anywhere before the season and it's not a guarentee he'll be gone after it's over. But if the line continues to struggle and Bo wants Tyler Moore back on the team then Barney can't be around. Tim Beck is gaining confidence with his playing calling and is going to be opening up a lot more this season. Obviously after a year Beck will have more confidence in Taylor to do more things with this offense, and Taylor will be improved as well to do more things in this offense. One of the things slowing Beck down last year was not getting into rythm to start the game, but when he was able to run what he really wanted, see second half Ohio St., Washington, his offense took off. Last year they didn't feel like they had a capable backup so Taylor had to stay in no matter what the situation. Bo and Beck have no confidence in Brion from a knowledge standpoint, they think he's a great athlete but still can't grasp the playbook which will keep him from seeing the field. This year will be different, Tommy Armstrong has come in ready to go, along with Ron Kellog looking great, according to most he truly looks like the most complete QB right now just through drills and running scrimmages, his passes have been on target all over the place and he really throws a great ball. This year Beck will allow Taylor to go more and use his feet because he's not as worried with Taylor coming out of the game as was last season with Armstrong and Kellogg their to take the reigns if Taylor went down. Jamal is showing to be much more consistent on day to day than he was last year which is a good sign, he should see great playing time, and the coaches love his athleticism. He's off the charts talent-wise. Jordan Westerkamp has come in and impressed as well, he has great hands and is already an above-average route runner considering he only got here this summer and has truly learned almost everything in just over a month. TE's are looking very good this year with Cotton and Reed, and Beck talked at length with Bill Belichick about how to utilize his tight ends much the same way the Pats did last year with Gronk and Hernandez, Beck may try to do some similar things to get them good looks. LB's may be better than people will realize, Will Compton has taken huge steps from last season to improve his speed and just all around ability as LB, Whaley, Anderson, and Rose are also playing very well and could be studs by midseason at least. Throw in David Santos as well to find a lot of action. DB's are looking good, Smith and Stafford have appeared to lock up the safety positions and look really good, Andrew Green has one side of the field locked down. Evans, Jackson, and Seisay are battling for the nickel spot and, the other corner should be Mitchell. Coaches love Mitchell's athletic ability, say he's freak, just small. Also a rotation of Punt returners included Ameer, Turner, Jackson, and Brion Carnes
  3. This was going to be happening the moment Aaron Green transferred, with lack of good RB depth this upcoming year (a FB is current the #2 back and Abdullah is still yet to become a complete back) this is the only move that makes sense. Heard played very well the few plays he got last season and people forget he was the No. 5 RB in the country the year he graduated high school (same as Aaron Green), this kid is fantastic RB.
  4. Can't you aruge at time it's justified?
  5. Nebraska fans should expect more from their program and why shouldn't they...
  6. I'd personally like to see white socks myself with white shoes.
  7. Very excited to see what Mo can do, I expect him to be starting from day one of fall camp and make an impact that will have him being a household name in the conference by year's end, and hopefully the entire country.
  8. Bo's defensive short comings in the past partciularly in 2009 were masked by talent and a guy named by Suh, the next year the secondary takes over and you still have a good defense because teams can't pass successfully on you a majority of the time, then you get to last year where you only have one guy that is great with a bunch of average joe's and you see the result. Nebraska did not have a good defense last year, the numbers and personnel show that, Bo has to be able to change his defense when need by and allow more players to see that field that he wouldn't. He keeps great athletes on the bench and won't let them go out and learn by playing, he puts out guys that aren't as athletic but know his system and last year he figured out that doesn't work, athletes are needed to make a defense successful.
  9. I don't know how this is even a discussion because there is no justifying a kid who's getting over $10,000 a year while going to school to play the sport he "loves" getting paid. You can't do it, you're damn right you're gonna work your tail off 5-6 hours a day, you better be earning that free tuition, books, housing, gear, Ipad, tutors, food, fame, career (whether it's going to be on the field or off). These kids don't realize how great they have it, think about student loans, that is a foreign concept to all these kids, if they really want to get paid then give up your scholarship and accept that 10,000 a year that you get paid for playing football at Nebraska, what are you going to do with it, oh yeah, pay for living, food, clothing, tution, books and everything else that was handed to you, same thing the scholarship covers. I'm not slightlng how hard these kids work becuase they bust their asses, and we show our appreciation every Saturday during the fall, I mean we've sold out every game since the 60's, but that's not good enough, becuase everyone is making money but them. Where do you think the money that these players "bring in" every Saturday goes, oh right back to their athletic department to buy things, like a new addition to the stadium, a brand new weight room, practice facilities, state of the art equipment, helmets, lockers, ect. If you want to get paid to play, bust your ass 7-8 hours a day instead of 5-6 and make it to the NFL, until then realize just how great it is to be an amateur college athlete at the University of Nebraska.
  10. There's been a lot talks about Carl leaving the program after the season is over and possibly Barney Cotton no longer being part of the staff, anyone think this is going to happen, who else do you think will be gone if anyone?
  11. Anyone care to elaborate on NCIU and what it is...
  12. Well it was fun having him while it lasted and I think there were a few people who saw this coming, LSU bound.
  13. Link it or I don't believe you. Link it and I probably still won't believe you. I'm new, so don't know how that link it thing works, go to nebraska.247sports.com look for the thread title ready for a change? welp I'm not buying message board posting. It's just as valid as posting on here. No way. As mentioned before, who in the world would we take THAT WOULD ACTUALLY COME HERE to replace Bo. No one I can think of is a better possible option for our HC then Bo right now. Urban Meyer, Chip Kelly, Chris Petersen, Gary Patterson, Gus Malzahn and probably Al Golden all would not come here. Ha yes a couple of those names would.
  14. Btw, Urban Meyer would be amazing and even though he's close with TO can't see it happening, Chris Petersen is the guy one of the absolute best in the game.
  15. He's not Doug Colman. Is it simply an issue of Els not having the NJ "ins" that Colman does?
  16. Hope you're trolling. We could get better than Bo.
  17. Yep that article is correct and people should not be shocked by what was said. Its true.
  18. Big Ten could be getting even tougher over the years if Ohio St. and Penn St. both bring in some big time coaches, more likely tOSU than Penn St, but it could happen.
  19. This thread should be called Tyler Moore what happened to him, but then I remember he's a freshmen.
  20. Wonder how many pairs of gloves Kenny Bell would go through if he got a new pair each time he looked down at his hands. It's just a knee-jerk reaction. I mean, I understand making fun of them, but I look at the tennis racquet when I make a bad hit, and I'm awful at tennis. I know it's not the racquet's fault, but I do it every time. I know, just having fun.
