I think Cavanaugh is a terrible coach and doesn't know how to manage more than 6-7 o-linemen. That's I made my post. If you check his bio Cavanaugh is a very good oline coach. He's been at Oregon State for the past 10 years. That doesn't mean much to me. Of course it doesn't

That would be why he posted it in RUMORVILLE, and he is professing it to be nothing more than that, a rumor. It's clear you're not bashing the post, you're employing a 'worthiness/belonging clause' (basically a form of 'poisoning the well' ad hominem) to bash the poster, as you have done in nearly every post you have made on this board in the past couple of weeks, trying to somehow trumpet your apparent worthiness or belonging to some Huskerboard social stratosphere via your post count, and how this makes you some authority figure on a message board, while demeaning/writing off those with less. There are obviously posters who make great contributions to this board who have a high post count, and they usually are the ones most likely to make the most meaningful contributions to this board. However, there are also posters with high post counts who do little to make meaningful contributions to this board and offer next to nothing in quality thoughts and discussion, just as there are posters who do not have many posts who offer very quality thoughts and discussion, and meaningful contributions, while less numerous. Exactly. That's why it's important for the AD to make a good hire after firing the previous guy. You don't want to be paying 3 coaches on your payroll for the next 4 or 5 years. With that being said, it's not terribly uncommon. Programs like Notre Dame and Auburn (IIRC) have been in similar situations. Luckily Riley is a relatively cheap coach, we wouldn't be firing a guy making 5-6 million per year. What it does do, however, is it makes you stick with the next hire for a long time. It would be a program killing move if the next guy stinks up the place. Did you not see this Ahhhh ok, yes I saw and posted this in another thread. what's your point. There was never a coach that would of been accepted by all. Hell it was a pissing match on who to hire anyway. There were a lot of coaches that would've been a lot more acceptable than Riley. And all of them would've had more success. Ya sure. your good at speculating.
