  1. Not what I'm saying. We seem to have an awful lot of fans here who are all too ready to piss all over the new AD based on nothing more than vague media reports about Bo and Tom being "upset" that they weren't properly consulted.
  2. Yeah! A great season in the state of South Dakota! You all know about the tremendous football played in South Dakota right? It clearly parallels the football played in California, Texas, and Florida.
  3. Given the fact that you "blame" Matt O' Hanlon for Nebraska's loss to Va Tech makes your assertion (and reasoning) here incredibly suspect.
  4. Easy to blame the defense, but the defense was like 1% responsible for that loss (Matt O'Hanlon being that sole 1%) Good God you're dumb. Selectively scapegoat much? 1. It was Matt O' Hanlon who chased down the Va Tech WR after the CB (Blue) mistakenly let the WR go because the CB thought he was playing zone. 2. Our defense had no less than 5 chances to win the game against the Hokies after Blue's huge coverage gaffe. To blame O'Hanlon for the loss to Va Tech in Blacksburg demonstrates a disturbingly stupid lack of football knowledge and comprehension of what actually occurred in the game. Go back and rewatch the last three minutes. Nebraska lost that game but it was NOT because of Matt O' Hanlon.

  6. Simple...you haven't met the Barney haters yet. When Nebraska wins they are "mysteriously" absent and silent. But when we lose, even if it's not the OLs fault, they are out in force. Stupidity usually doesn't need a reason.
  7. If by "holding their own" you mean getting out-scored 20-0 in the final 25 minutes then sure.
  8. Really? Nebraska is 62nd giving up an average of 152 yards a game. http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/natlRank.jsp?year=2012&rpt=IA_teamrushdef&site=org&div=IA&dest=O While that's not "terrible" in the strictest sense, it is far below what any team that has "championship" aspirations.
  9. If Nebraska handles their business the way I know they can they should walk away with the W easily. However, if Nebraska loses 2 or 3 turnovers deep in their own territory like they did against Wisconsin then well a loss is likely.
  10. For the record, the title of this thread should be: "If you're coming to the shoe." Not trying to be a member of the grammar police, but christ almighty, could we at least get the difference between your and you're right?
  11. Waiting to to see the evil finger triangle of contemplation.
  12. He really wasn't his redshirt freshman and sophomore seasons. But the work he put in this past off-season has made a tremendous difference. So much so that every single commentator doing our games have noticed.
  13. How about they have a mobile QB who was torching us last year until he got hurt midway through the 3rd Q? Or that the game is in Columbus? Or how about that defensively OSU has the personnel to cause real problems for our offense?
  14. What's hilarious is that you seem to think that you're the only one who's ever played football and knows anything about the game. When Bo has a DT the caliber of Ndamukong Suh then this two gap read and react works really well. But we don't have a player of that caliber and the way our defense has played the past two seasons clearly demonstrates that something needs to change. Let me ask you seriously now: do do see Alabama or LSU's DL playing the kind of read and contain style that Nebraska does? Now I'm clearly not saying we have that kind of talent but playing "contain" with the front four and coverage with the back seven has resulted in Nebraska's getting torched by just about every offense. Last year in Lincoln we played a Keith Price led Washington team and while we won the Huskies scored 38 points. This season, pretty much the same Washington team went down to LSU and scored a grand total of 3 points. In that game, LSU's DL just got after the QB. No worrying about him taking off and running, no worrying about getting beat deep, no playing scared. They got after the QB and darn near had a shut out. But right, playing two gap and contain, stay the course.
  15. LOL. No we clearly are several notches below Alabama especially along the DL. Then again, nobody is really on Alabama's level when discussing talent along the DL. LSU might be close but they're still #2. But you're right, we're very comparable to what Michigan State and Notre Dame bring to the table. And if they can do it and be successful, then so can we.
  16. I agree. But it also goes back to last season when Michigan State blitzed and pressured Robinson to the tune of 3 INTs and a FF or something very similar. And did Bo look at that tape and say we should probably try something similar? Nope. Our DL played "contain" while the back seven was in a soft zone most of the time and we got absolutely torched. For a defensive genius, sometimes Bo isn't very bright.
  17. Ouch. But it's true, the Big 10 is just awful. Michigan might become a good team by season's end but right now they're clearly reeling from losing all those seniors along the O and D lines from last season. And as Michigan State, Alabama, and Notre Dame have all proven when you pressure and blitz Dennard Robinson you can force him into mistakes, sloppy play, and get a win. So obviously when Nebraska plays Michigan, Bo won't watch those games and devise a similar game plan. Instead we'll probably lay back in coverage, play a soft zone, and let Robinson have a career passing and rushing day. Because why would Bo blitz and pressure a QB like Dennard Robinson when it clearly doesn't work. Ohio State is ineligible to be ranked or play in the CTG or bowl so it really doesn't matter how good they are. That being said, I honestly don't think we're winning in Columbus this year. Sure hope I'm wrong though. Wisconsin lost multiple OL, their one year wonder QB, and practically their entire coaching staff to other schools so it's no wonder they're struggling. Iowa. Losing at home to Central Michigan should never happen to any BCS AQ conference school. Penn State and the rest of the sad sack Big 10 are just one stinky pile of below average.
  18. David Santos had one play in coverage where he was beaten badly. I'll have to go back, watch the game again, and find the exact play. But he was torched. Luckily the pass was incomplete. I'm hoping that he slipped or something and that was the reason why he trailing 5 yards behind the Idaho State receiver. Because if we have LBs who can be out ran by receivers from Idaho State.......
  19. Welcome to the board. I pretty much agree with you. If we can maintain our recruiting and stay in the top 25 every year we'll be able to compete with anyone. I just wish we could drastically oversign players and summarily cut the ones who don't pan out from our roster like certain unnamed (cough.....Alabama and LSU......cough) schools habitually do.
  20. What I think we've learned thus far: 1. Offensively we're much improved over last year. 2. The secondary seems to be covering to their 2009 standards. 3. We are incredibly deep at RB. 4. The personnel moves in the defensive front seven seem to be just what was needed. 5. Eric Martin can really bring it off the edge. We need at least two or three more guys like him. 6. The OL, while not perfect, is progressing nicely. The biggest questions we still have left to answer are: A. Can we stuff the opponent's running game between the tackles? B. We've dominated inferior opponents how will we do once the talent equals out? C. Do we have an answer for Braxton Miller, Cain Kolter, and Dennard Robinson? D. Will Beck stick to the running game when it is working?
