  1. Historically NU really didn't have a lot of RB make it in the league. Right now Nebraska has about as many guys playing RB in the NFL as at any time. Rex, Ameer and Roy Helu are still playing I believe. Not true. There was a stat just posted on here or another link that had # of RB in the league for past 20 or 40 years and we were #1 with USC #2. Don't know if my facts are exactly correct but we were at the top. Sorry no good at attaching links: however if google search this - it is the top article "college team with most running backs in nfl past 40 years"

  3. Completely agree, however it also show what level Iowa is at - they hit a high point for the last 50 years (and were happy finishing second). Fortunately, we have had greater success in that time frame - just need to get back into the tier 1 programs soon so that we don't ever have thoughts of being at the level of Iowa.
  4. If he won't be gone then he shouldn't be gone. He has recruited better then any coach in NU history - He deserves and will get the 2/3 years to see how they develop!!!
  5. Ahhhhh, so you're Angel Salazar, come to join the board after having IcyHot rubbed in your face. Until I actually see something credible, I'm going to assume you're wrong and coming here to start problems that don't exist. Once again, the news video names a different player, and Rahyme doesn't wear number 16 (or at least didn't) - for example, SEE THE PICTURE AT THE TOP OF THE ARTICLE IN HIM IN A #9 JERSEY. Nice catch Atbone95
  6. Jump all over him? Is it ok to express concern at all based on this season (and his history)? Reality is, both the good and bad vibes need to be tempered. But it didn't mean people can't be encouraged about initial recruiting results or concerned about the topic of this thread, our lack of offensive identity. Yes, Jump all over him. Just remember as you have stated that everything so far is just a "data point" so let's see where the next couple data points are so that we can start to plot a trend for this staff. Why are you so into this concept of our fans announcing what Langs offensive identity is at NU???. He has had one season of football at NU with 0% of our upperclassmen (players most likely to be on the field) being recruited by this staff. His identify will be obvious in year 3 - until then it will be a blend of what he knows, what he thinks will work at Nebraska and what he has for players that were recruited by a staff that had their own vision.
  7. So Riley can't get credit for anything positive becuase he hasn't done it for 3/5 years, however in year one if he doesn't quite have it all into place and the W/L don't go as planned we can jump all over him. Ok, I get it now. Thanks for explaining that backwards thinking!!! Can't wait til 2019 to see what you come with.....
  8. Didn't know our staff has been recruiting for NU for 4 years - I'm saying that this class will finish higher then any year of Franks tenure. That's saying a lot considering Frank was riding on the back of TO's NC's while Riley has had the pleasure of following several years of non championship football at NU. Soon to change!!!
  9. How true this is. I laugh when I meet somebody and get an early impression of them. Then we start talking football - the Michigan and Ohio State fans almost always are polar opposites.
  10. I get it, you're all jaded and emo because your boy(s) got canned. And you were a player and played a different way. And you like TO's way of doing things. But dude, get off your high horse and embrace a little change. If it ends up being for the better, what was the harm. Ya gotta break a couple eggs to make an omelette. You couldn't be more wrong about the system I ran. It's because I saw it waste talent that I'm jaded. And it's the "fire and forget" attitude of jack wagons like Pederson that got us into this mess. Well, as long as we are confirming your bias. Now we can agree that maybe you don't have proper aspect to fairly judge what the staff does or soesn't do.Say dipsh*t Pederson doesn't fire Solich. Over the next 3 seasons we slip to 8-4 or 7-5 and eventually have to fire him anyway. Can I prove it? No, but there were no indications that things were going to get better. Judging Riley after 1 year here is completely different. FalseHave to agree here. Defense had improved a lot after 1 year with Pelini and things looked on the upswing. But why are we pretending it was only wins and losses that got Solich fired? Defense wasn't the only issue under Frank, recruiting was pretty uninspiring. We know what Bo does with uninspired recruiting. Frank's recruiting was better than anything we've seen since then. How funny this statement will be come 2017!!!
  11. What incident? http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2570864-rahyme-johnson-4-star-ucla-commit-allegedly-put-icy-hot-on-opponents-face So the article names Rayhme Johnson as the accused in all of the text. If you watch the video, they slow it down where it happened... it's not Johnson, not his jersey number, and they straight up use the name of a different player in the news clip...? Did I miss something? Yes I think you missed it - video shows it to be #16, which is our guy. He changed gloves afterward and it was enough of a violation that it was reported to the state and he missed at least one game. Maybe I'm old school, but this to me screams lack of character and maturity. As does being a no show for a spring game at the university that you're committed to. Smells bad to me, real bad. I'm out. Not a fan. ( And BTW it was reported in a number of news sources in addition to Bleacher Report. This is a University of Miami move, not a University of NE move) This incident does scream lack of character, however if you look at most teenagers they have done things that they look back at and wish would not have happened. Our coaching staff is full of character and i'm guessing that since they have offered this player both parties have come to the conclusion that this will not happen again. This kid has shown that he isn't 100% committed to UCLA and guessing the staff there has been informed. "i'm out. Not a fan" - not sure what is meant by that, however I hope this kid is in!!!!
  12. We don't really even get 90,000 on game days now. Are you saying we are different then other schools that sell out. Go to any school in the country that advertises a sell out for a non conference game against a team that is ranked outside the top 50. You will 100% of the time see a stadium that has 2-5% of the seats empty. Show up on September 17th and tell me there aren't 92k in the stadium.
  13. Wow - what a let down for a potential recruit going to Iowa after being in Lincoln for 73K. Be interesting to compare recruiting ranks between the two schools for 16/17/18/19 cycles. Then again, it's Iowa - lets move on....... Rather go after OSU
  14. I think the bold has already happened. There are probably things behind the scenes that are happening that we don't know about. This spat from OSU receiver coach is a sign of this. First somebody wins a battle over a small recruit and then it happens for a 5 star guy - Next thing you know they are beating you and taking your spot in the playoffs. GBR! We are waking up from a long nap!!!!
  15. NU > OSU - This twitter exchange - 2017 WR Recruiting - Players being coached
  16. Bo was too busy using their sucess trying to find his gig in the SEC
  17. Funny I did that, however knowing that 90% of readers wouldn't notice that - I took it as a non-factor.
  18. If you break down every portion of this quote - the quote is almost completely false.
  19. A true big would help NU, Miles and Andrew White. We will see how we do with a big over the next 10 days ?!?!?! As for White, if he feels he is NBA caliber there is very little downside to doing what he is doing - which is testing the waters. They will tell him if he is ready and if not what does he need to focus on next year. So big or no big - that answer will be told to him by people in the know (NBA). If they tell him that he doesn't grade high enough in these xyz areas then coming back next year will fore sure be beneficial. Obviously, having a big would make that process easier for him so that he can play his true position to the fullest. The only downside to him looking out for himself, is speculation from fans like us, which doesn't promote NU basketball.
  20. Tough sell, but sure Riley can secure it.
  21. This. He probably sees the writing on the wall and realizes he's not going to gain a whole lot staying on this team another year, unless he somehow had a breakout season. Wonder what his opinion is of ol' Timmy Looks to be obvious on your option of Miles, however can't read much into Andrew Whites opinion. All we know is that he wants to test the waters to see where he might go in the draft or at least what he needs to work on next season to increase his stock. The only indicator that we can go on for Whites opinion of Miles would be that he choose NU.
