  1. This is likely or it is possible that when they stand next to the young high star guys they see that the fight may be too big
  2. Unless player offers that idea you are rolling a pretty big dice hoping it goes your way
  3. I'm right there with you - 52 and graduated in 95 right at the peak. A lot has changed in this world and college sports 3 things SF has going: - He's very intelligent has been around several successful football leaders - He has experienced the NU fishbowl at the peak - college sports are still king and queen in Nebraska Our fans only have one choice - they can like it or not like it but there is only one choice.
  4. Great post and questions The 85 limit is always going to make you feel a few players short somewhere. The difference between NFL and college recruiting is puberty. There are a lot of potential "kids" that are under the radar (recruits hype ramps up at 16) - this concept effects strength/size positions mostly. SF has settled in for the long haul - one of the things that a lot of new coaches do is "chase wins in years 2-3" if SF was to do this he may have grabbed a higher ratio of big guys to solve his problem of "other big10 teams looking bigger then us" - however frost has shown that 4/5 year cycle in roster mgt/ratio is important to his 7-20 yr plan. Development shows up in the trenches somewhere around junior year - the 2018 class is questionable 19/20 much better 21 seems to be close - a couple more studs would be nice. I feel like lineman have about 50/50 hit/miss ratio and I put this back to the kids that "pop" to early are not your best recruits. Example kid from okl about 5 years ago (jailyn??) Was committed to okl or some bigger school and his numbers fell and he decided to come here - was a total bust... Wiscy has been using our approach for 15 years now - give our program time.
  5. I think last year thst was the case - its a numbers game if you crash and have a 10% chance of a rebound but you create a 15% chance of a fast break then you back away. As the team gains size the % will change and so will positioning of the players on missed shots
  6. Guessing you don't visit memorial stadium often - besides the recent game against Ohio st - i cant compare the stadium to anything that you said.
  7. ...... while every other team in the country practices at full capacity. Seriously all team's are filling the effects - heck NU is probably still using a delivery program for meals.
  8. Was the goal to draft guys that would see the field or enter the transfer portal?
  9. SF disagrees he has special rings that they can only dream about
  10. Let me strart by saying that the biggest key to NU returning to successful will be and is the front 7 on D and the front 6 on O. However SF and company truely believe in the walk on program and are looking for depth and starters out of it. It is easier to take a walk on trench player and create something tghen it is with a skilled player and make them faster / couple that with the fact that we take thinner skilled players which will get injured easier. Long story short - SF will always over recruit skill players and under recruit the trenches by 1 or 2 each class.
  11. If there are games this fall - NU will show that they use TE as good as Iowa. Remember SF has had success with the position - this will be the first year that he has had a chance to show case the mismatch advantage at NU
  12. We have sucked over the past three years - this wouldn't be the way to determine my statement NU sells out weekly and our attendance is way above most of our opponents- unless you think our fans are cheering for the other team. This is a silly subject to debate
  13. Memorial Stadium is Probably tougher then most of the places that we typically play on the road

I think CM was let go - he made decisions that werent team first. The talent level this year will be much higher then last. Some kids work harder when a challenge is presented - some fold.
  15. Thxs for the info - didn't know such a thing was available. I was taking it a step further and giving each player a factor rating based on their yr of eligibility - basically saying a 4* Sr is more valuable then a 4* Fr . I have finished NU (which took longer then I expected) SO not sure if I will do the other West teams....
  16. Yes and no - NU attrition has been terrible I'm working on some big10 team rankings based on current rosters it should be telling. Frost has also red shirted a crazy high % based on the situation he is in.

Everything you mention is true except last sentence - now with different behavior the last sentence could be possible. When I heard that the three sit out players hadcbeat the starters upibdidnt know that it was with 2 walk ons and it happened regularly by many points - so guessing cam macks attitude was taking into effect who would be the starting 5 next year....
  18. Being a 7th round pick is better in the fact that they wanted you sooner udfa means they wanted you 8th 9th or 10th - now there is a benefit to being udfa and that is if you get multiple offers you ( the player) get to pick your team
  19. That would be an interesting argument and a waste of time - do you know the definition of douchebag?
  20. Also - SF has shown every sign that he is doing the long approach to getting where he wants this to be. Bringing in a transfer QB for 1 season doesn't do much for us.
  21. This is a very good take. It will be interesting if AM returns to be a top 5 QB this year and JB stumbles at the next level.
  22. The game atmosphere was great our offense sucked but the d was incredible - it will be fun when we are back to championship games on a regular basis.
  23. Hard to say I just googled covid19 deaths and the number for ny is 11k It's hard what to believe - there are a lot of $$$ being lost and made every day... it's a sad world we live in.
