  1. I'm obviously biased, but we seem to be the best choice in his top 6. It sounds like he really likes South Florida from what I'm reading on here and it sounds like other Florida schools just haven't offered yet. He would be a good get, I like the way he doesn't stop after first contact.
  2. That's a great point. These POWER conferences are going to be so tough to go undefeated in that it will be really hard for teams to make it to the championship game. It will be fun to watch throughout the year though!
  3. I just saw it on CFB Live now. They also said that ND's 2012 schedule is so hard that "The 95 Huskers would have trouble getting through it." We can't afford to take the chance and be regionalized. Apparently we don't even dominate Northwest Indiana, Southern Cal just got a commitment from the top RB. The midwest is just losing people. I really think the jury is still out on your life in the B1g. The solidarity and the money are good. But recruiting wise, going against Urban Meyer and the Michigan machine is not going to easy. And can you still pull in Texans? Also you have the entire state of Nebraska to yourself (we share Indiana with 2 schools that are technically in the BCS) NU can at least get linemen locally and go abroad vs everyone for speed. Can anyone verify who the fourth team is besides Florida State, Miami, and Virginia Tech?
  4. Stories. Positive…..or are you just guessing?
  5. Someone just told me that they just heard that Florida State, Miami, Virginia Tech and one other school (I can't remember which one they told me) just agreed to join the Big 12. Can anyone verify that or are they telling stories?
  6. I agree 100% with this statement! I would say that Texas should just give up being in a conference and become Independent already. That way, they can just run everything the way they want to and have their little Longhorn network.
  7. Agree 100%! This guy has issues, I think he should take one month of his child support checks and put them towards a vasectomy!
  8. If FSU leaves and BCS money is not flowing into the ACC it will be scramble mode for everyone to get out. I think FSU and Clemson are gone. That dosen't mean the 4 conferences will all start trying to get to 16, that makes no sense to me. Why would the B1G for example start snatching up the likes of Pitt and Syracuse when they don't add more money to the pot than the average B1G school? I could see both the SEC and B1G having interest in a pairing of NC and VATech. Georgia Tech could be a Big12 target. Maryland, NC State, Virginia, BC, and/or Miami could have a fit somewhere I just can't see it now. ND is still the big chip that needs to fall, and if this playoff forces them into a conference my guess is B1G. One thing that seems pretty obivious is we have 4 big boy conferences and 4 conference champs. There is your playoff, PAC vs B1G and SEC vs Big12. You even have 4 CCG's so now you have an 8 team playoff. Everybody else can go out in the fall and run a team out onto the field in front of a half full 50,000 seat stadium and wait until basketball season starts. Not sure if it's a good thing, but that's how I see it. Ugh, I think you are right even if it looks lillegal. How is the Pac getting to 16 then? I think that one team they should go after is Boise St. even if I don't think it would ever happen. Geographically, it would make sense for everyone involved, but geography doesn't really seem to matter to some schools any more when considering which conference they should join.
  9. Taylor didn't have any really rough games last year like he did against Washington 2.0. He also never had a great game like he had against Washington 1.0, K-State, or Oklahoma State. Ohio State maybe. He was consistently good, but never really great. As for being better than Robinson. Not sure I could go that far. As you said, look at the stats. 7 more picks, but also 7 more touchdowns. If those extra picks were so unacceptable, then they wouldn't have finished with as many wins as they did. Otherwise very similar passing stats. Dennard edges Taylor with a 139.7 rating to Taylor's 126.5. He had 5 100 yard rushing games to Taylor's 3. 1176 yards to Taylor's 874. 5.3 per cary average to Taylor's 4.6. 16 rushing TDs to Taylors 9. And in the most important game of their season, against Ohio State...he was 14/17, 167yrds, 3TDs, 0INT, 26 attempts for 170 yards. Big time QBs perform in the big games. Also, you should look at the scrambling ability of the 2. Dennard had 7 sacks in 2010, 13 last year. Taylor had 26 in 2010, 21 last year. And if you try to blame all of those on the OL then you definitely weren't watching the games. That was a nice way to break it down and I enjoyed reading it, thanks! I would say that I would give the edge to Robinson too. I like Taylor, despite some of the mistakes he makes, but I do respect what Robinson has done at Michigan.
  10. Wishes? please point out to me where i said, "I wish aaron green would tear his ACL and ruin his career?" i believe said we are all going to be wishing him the best, but if something bad happens, i don't care. That is not wishing something bad. Read the posts before you get keyboard happy. Blackshirts007 First of all, I'm not keyboard happy. You aren't going to get off by a technicality here. I'm sorry, you never said WISH. You did say that you wouldn't have any sympathy for a young man that tears his ACL and ruins his career. I guess that's my bad, because what you said is not vindictive at all, right?…..and that's not me being KEYBOARD HAPPY.
  11. That about sums it up. It was a very sad day a year ago when I had to sell my 2008 Ford F-150. It wasn't working out for our growing family. My wife has told me many times that she really misses my pick-up and she has guaranteed me that I can get another one when the boys are old enough and out of car seats….I'm counting down the days!
  12. I'm not going to give a cheery goodbye to a man for walking out on his commitment to his teammates, coaches and the Husker fan base. Not saying I want him to fail or anything, but where I come from, you honor your commitments. It's the same staff that recruited him and he still had a very high chance of becoming a starter for the second half of his career. He bailed on everyone here and I for one am not going to commend the man for doing so. +1 i dont think we are being selfish. you are probably thinking this is just because we are angry at a big talent like him leaving, but that's not it at all. We sat and bashed Cody Green for transferring and i think we can all agree that we are glad he left. A commitment is a big deal. Do you know how much work goes into recruiting a kid from another state to come to your school? If anyone is being selfish it's Aaron, he knew he was going to be away from his family, he knew what conference we were in, he knew what offense we ran, or planned to run, and he had his brother here. And i think we are all wishing him the best? life comes before football and why would we not want him to do well, he seems like a good kid. But it's just in different terms at least for me imo. If he rushes for 2,000 a season, good for him. If he tears his ACL and ruins his career, well i don't have any sympathy . Sometimes I wish the -1 was back. I would totally agree. It's pretty bad when someone wishes something this bad on a college athlete.
  13. Thanks for the info! He looks like he would be a good fit for us, let's hope we make a push and get him here!
  14. This is actually one movie I would be ok with being remade. There are some very talented actors right now that could do a great job with this. New game, who would you like to see play the roles if they made a new Revenge of the Nerds movie? Lewis…………. Gilbert………... Poindexter…... Lamar……….. Wormser……. Booger……... Betty………... Stan………... Ogre……….. Coach Harris……...

Once again, I am not saying that he shouldn't stay and honor his agreement to be a Husker, but I'm not going to bad mouth him as he's leaving. I may not be watching TCU games next year cheering him on, but I'm also not going to bad mouth a young man for making a decision.

I'm not saying that you have to give a cheery goodbye and throw a parade for him leaving town, but don't bash a young man for making a decision for himself. I'm not saying that I like him leaving and believe me when I say that I believe in honoring your commitments too, but he made a decision for himself and he will have to live with it. Don't be petty and bad mouth a young man that made a decision that he will have to live with. Grow up and move on.
  17. +1. Although I would amend my questionable decisions to early childhood, teens, 20's, 30's, 40's etc... There's not a pattern here is there? I would agree, I know that I am still making questionable decisions.
  18. There have been very few remakes that can even touch the original movies so I would almost have to say that remakes are outlawed. I about did a spit take when I heard that they were doing a remake of Footloose. I have never seen the new one, and I don't plan to. Kevin Bacon made me believe that there "is a time to dance" and I don't want to ruin that feeling!
  19. I'm guessing the biggest thing with Kansas would be bringing Kansas State with them. I have no idea if there is that loyalty there between the two schools, but I could see that being a stipulation. Kansas State has had a few decent years in some sports, but they are usually not that much to talk about so I can't see them being that attractive to the B1G. Does anyone know if Kansas would put in this stipulation if they were invited to join?
  20. I love coming to this board to get some Husker news, but I hate to read some posts from negative people that have nothing better to do than sit there and bash these young men for making some of the decisions they make. I know that I made some questionable decisions when I was in my early 20's. Aaron is an exceptional athlete and I wish him all the best. I think we will be just fine at the running back position, but I do know that I hate to see him go. A lot of us think that he is making a poor choice in transferring, but I think it's for selfish reasons. I love the Huskers and I want to see quality boys like Aaron playing for my beloved Huskers. I hate to see him go, but I wish him all the best.
  21. Mods - please ban Woody Hayes 1951 NOW lol come on dude, you wouldn't want a castrated Texas in the Big Ten? They'd have no power when they don't have their little Texas yes men surrounding them(Baylor, Tech, etc) They can push around Baylor and Kansas but there is way too much political power in the Big Ten for them to handle. When you put it this way, then Texas wouldn't be so bad. I think I developed a dislike of Texas when we all joined the Big 12. I didn't think about them that much before. It would be nice to see Texas in a conference where they don't have all the power! I still don't want them in the B1G though. I don't even really want Notre Dame because they just haven't shown that much interest. I would rather add a team or two that really wants to be in the conference and also brings a little bit of clout, is that too much to ask?!
  22. I know that all of this realignment is happening whether we like it or not. I'm a little old fashioned when it comes to where teams play so I am really not a big fan of it, but I might as well get used to it because it is happening. I do feel that Notre Dame needs to just realize that they need to join a conference already. Change is here and if Notre Dame wants to be a part of the National Championship talk, they need to suck it up and join a conference. I didn't like the fact that we wouldn't play Oklahoma every year. The series was very one-sided at times for both sides, but it was still nice to know that we were going to play the Sooners. I think that the reason the B1G is one of the logical choices for Notre Dame is that they usually play quite a few B1G teams.
  23. I agree with the first three paragraphs. The Callahan Era - I think you and I are just always going to see that differently. Callahan was never in the mix when Frank was fired. Callahan was a desperation hire after we were already rejected by Dave Wannstedt, Al Saunders, Houston Nutt, Mike Zimmer, and others. Callahan was hired on 1/9/04, 41 days after Solich was fired on 11/29/03. He wasn't in our top ten. He wasn't a blip on the radar when Frank was fired. Sure, Callahan had some highly-rated classes, but that comes with a caveat as one of the more prominent recruitniks at Rivals or Scout (I forget which) was his good buddy. I remember interviews on local sports radio with the guy asking if his #1 ranking of Callahan's class was biased, which he obviously said no to. It's undeniable that Callahan brought talent here, though. But talent alone wasn't what we needed, and 2007 may have been the year that I dropped off the bandwagon, but many, many people were off his bandwagon years prior. And I don't think anyone was ever on the Cosgrove bandwagon. I can honestly say that I was never on Callahan's bandwagon. I didn't like him from the get go. I disagreed with the decision to hire him and thought that we could have done a lot better. Callahan could recruit and couldn't coach, Solich couldn't recruit but could coach. I think Bo can do both.
  24. Callahan could recruit, that's no doubt. But, he did so little with so much talent that I would have taken Solich over Callahan any day. Frank may not have been the best recruiter in the nation, but he was a much better coach than Callahan ever was. I would still take Bo over either one though, don't get me wrong.
  25. The kid looks like he can play! Let's get him here!
