  1. I agree with most of your posts in this ridiculous thread but I would put auburn above us if it became available. Even tho they are 2nd fiddle in their state, they are surrounded by talent everywhere, have been a consistent top program when they have their s#!t together and have won a title in the past decade. If I look at this from a pure neutral where can I win the quickest with the talent to do so, auburn is more attractive than us Other than that, agree with everything.
  2. +1. I'll down that s#!t myself and deal with the hangover later, itll all be worth it
  3. im surprised zac taylors name hasnt been floated. Cinci isnt looking the best with that super bowl hangover going on. If he's out, where does he slot in on ppls list?
  4. I didn't want to spin up a new thread tho perhaps this topic warrants it. I think a big factor in the coaching search, along with the actual coaching pool we're pulling from, is who we're going up against. Those saying we shoulda canned frosty last year are forgetting we probably would've been 6th-10th on the list of school openings, making the competition for coaches extremely tough. While its still very early, I am optimistic that our competition this year is actually very favorable. The only job I could forsee that would immediately be more attractive than us would be when the Auburn job becomes available. Do any others come to mind? While a&M seems to have the potential of imploding based off their start, I do not see Jimbo getting the axe given his extension. What other major programs do you see us going up against? Couple that might happen/we know of already: UCLA if they boot Chip While highly unlikely, ND moving away from Marcus Freeman if they nose dive (Cal is not a good team) Auburn- almost canned their coach last year, weird storylines surrounding that situation Arizona State- Frankly, I don't think we need to be concerned here. Have a hard time seeing any high caliber coach going to the Pac12 against USC and the unknown future conf security Wisconsin- Is there a mutual exit of Christ and Wisc if they fall apart? While theres been success, it seems like this pairing has had a weird element to it at times
  5. Does anyone have a recommendation for a world class tattoo removal? umm, asking for a friend
  6. Tim Tebow says urban should come to lincoln. Its official guys, we're getting urban
  7. Are you basing this false statement off any kind of facts or is this inaccurate take just in the heat of the moment of this dumpster fire to start the season?
  8. Mickey was named interim because he was given the associate head coach title to lure him here this offseason. I dont think trev really had a choice as to who would be interim when you're given that title before frosty was even canned. That being said, unless we land an urban or a stoops, id rather roll with mickey as HC and build out a staff of excellent recruiters with a long resume of success at P5 schools. Perhaps Mickey can get his brother to lead the defense and stack the coaching room with asst coaches with actual smarts and credibility. Above all else, id love to have a staff for a change that all know how to recruit because we f'n need it
  9. Not excusing frosty by any means but trev himself even came out last year saying he was gonna help protect frost from doing too much s#!t outside of his actual job. We dont know the full context and im not trying to create an excuse for the guy but i can easily see scenario where frosty is just inundated with request for events, taking shots/slights from previous players given their 2 cents, where he reached a point of saying F it, im not doing this s#!t off the field anymore. Ive now seen a couple variations of that players greeting for frost when he was first hired- taylor here makes it sound like it was a heart warming gesture, ive seen others spin it as a weird event frosty had to do before he met with the players and other key stakeholders. TLDR: Dont really care about this off the field s#!t not related to the s#!tty performance of this progrum on the field.
  10. I think Husker009 is Scott Frost. Initially their posts didn't make a lot of sense, but if you picture frosty at the keyboard or feverishly typing these posts on his phone in-between holes at the country club he "got banned from", they begin to make a whole lot of sense
  11. This ^... Kent f'n state looked more competitive against OU then we did, at home, on a massive rivalry day celebrating past champions. This past weekend, and really this whole season, is more embarrassing to me than Riley's last year and inching very close to surpassing callahan's disaster of a reign
  12. Its not manageable and as horrible as they look, we are *10 on the horrible index.
  13. pretty terrible NW team, didnt look great against a terrible ND team and absolutely embarassed at home by a terrible GA southern team*** Slight addition and revision
  14. Chinander had 5 years to get us on a path of improvement and instead he walked us down a cliff
  15. Bro, what? We’re the worst defense in P5. Our defense is the reason we lost to NW and ga so, and yesterday shat the bed again from the get go. the chin apologists baffle me, r we watching the same games or are some of you watching highlights from 20-30 years ago while getting hammered and thinking you’re watching the current team?
  16. As bad as that defense was that Bo started with he had WAY more talent to work with. Couldn’t even name a guy on this defense that could make an all conf team much less project to the nfl
  17. Eh I think incompetence has a role in this too. Our soft af secondary philosophy mixed with zero pass rush has been a disaster from day 1 of frostys staff. Took nfl talent at lb and across the secondary last year to make it look somewhat serviceable.
  18. I learned that I’m conflicted as to how long this rebuild will really take. Both our lines are embarrassingly bad and I feel like both require at least a couple years of better talent and maturation to get right, particularly the o line
  19. You have unrealistic expectations if you think Mickey had any chance of making a difference in 5 days.
  20. Did u mean to post this on here or was this intended as an entry to your diary? to be clear, if we somehow get urban, urban isn’t forced to have whipple or forced to run with this piss poor barely qualified as a P5 and prolly middle ground group of 5 roster. i chuckled when in a span of 2 sentences u rip grant yet say Palmer is the lone bright spot on this team when grant ran hard all day and Palmer had the fumble to start the 2nd half putting a nail in the day lol No one realistically expected a win today. In the long run, it was probably needed so we as fans would stop thinking this team is close. It’s not, we’ve neglected consistent recruiting and development of both the d and o line for 3 coaches now. Our recruiting rankings are bloated by skill players, half of which never see the field or leave the program and the other half never progress during their time here. We haven’t had a defense that actually forces turnovers since probably 2012. This progrum sucks as it stands. I hope trev and boosters that actually make the decision r as sick to their stomach as I am and realize that if they don’t get this hire right this program is done. College students r now attending UNL where the best squad in their lifetime was the 09 Suh squad and the sad part is they prolly don’t even remember that cause of how young they were at the time. We’re in desperate need of a jolt and I hope that jolt comes in the form of urban Meyer
  21. The ironic part is ppl against him seem to hold his dalliance at the bar last year with that woman and Jacksonville going poorly as reasons not too. Yet for the most part haven’t brought up his mishandling of his assistant coach domestic abuse which was by far the worst thing attached to him. I agree with you, as I’ve said a few times here. If I wanted guidance on morals and wholesome life I’d go to church. We know football is horrible for the body and ppl make millions of kids playing this game, yet some wanna act like it’s morally wrong to bring in urban. give me f#&%ing excellence on the field on Saturday’s so I can be a cocky SOB the rest of the week. I’ll find my moral compass from other sources
  22. It’s because your opinions paint the picture that Urbans ceiling here would be 8 wins yet unproven coaches have a higher potential. and hey it’s not hookers it’s just young co eds, big difference
  23. Right, because under Trev's list of traits he's look for under serving the players, he's gonna value more about what urban's personal life is than the traits he brings to the field. makes total sense
  24. 1. Make him the highest paid coach in america 2. urban has won in the sec, he’s won in the big10. What else would look great on the resume? Bringing back a sleeping giant 3. if we land urban the least of my worries is the staff and players he’d bring with him. It’s landing him that’s the tough part
  25. If your objection is only tied to the baggage tied to him that’s fine. But to make the argument urban would top out at 8 wins meanwhile coaches who don’t have his track record could do better, you lost me
