  1. I dunno about you but being ranked 93rd in any category pisses me the hell off lol If we are that low then I'd want to see us top 10-top 15 in some other offensive category to help justify that and balance things out which currently we cant make a claim to
  2. Fair, but I'd love to see Adrian's compeltion % for passes thrown over 10 yards and see how that stacks up (and the quantity as well). High passing % is good, but what does a high passing % do you if 95% of those are within 5 yards and our YAC is dismal? QBs need to be able to stretch the field and based off what I've seen having watched every single game the past 3 years, I'd argue there has been a regression in this compared to year 1
  3. lol, what? This was the end of frostys 3rd year.... All teams were playing under the same circumstances. If for whatever reason COVID only existed in the state of nebraska than I would agree with you, but I tire of using covid as an excuse when literally all other schools had the same circumstances... and some schools had even harsher conditions due to state law (ie all of the california schools who literally could not assemble until October due to rules against groups of 150+ more in one place) Perhaps I could use better phrasing to be more clear but what I meant to say is, we've completed our 3rd year and the next game played (in August) is entering year 4.
  4. Not discounting your direct perspective as clearly you've got some info that I don't have access to. My rebuttal would be, this is fine in years 1 and 2 but we're now entering year 4 and we still are a 1 QB room and that QB hasn't shown a progression most would expect entering his 4th year in the system. There are far too many throws at the feet, throws too late, throws airmailed, and lack of read progression that indicates progress is being made.
  5. right, cause playing in a meaningless bowl game that is insult to injury on a tough year would totally be the 180 this program needs. Wake the hell up and get a life. You're putting way too much weight and investment into 18-22 year olds play a freaking game. WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH.... Cry up a storm some more... You must be one of those adults that think every kid should get a participation trophy-its an accurate analogy for you b!^@hing up a storm to have a 3-5 football team get into a bowl game that is traditionally meant for 500 teams and above.
  6. Im gonna bold this as this is probably the simplest motto we should go by. we have the resources of any program money wise, why are we settling for a bunch of assistants where this is their dream job or biggest school coached at? That should be characteristic of the purdues and northwesterns of the world... which is the exact reason why we find them to be on our level or higher
  7. If verduzco isnt gone then frosty most likely signed his own ticket out of town. QB play is the most important in football and there has been zero sign of progress we have someone who can throw the ball since the day frosty came on board. Sure, bad snaps, o line issues, young receiving corps... But weve also seen wide open guys continually air mailed, wide open guys being thrown too a second too late, that eggregious pick against northwestern in the end zone (beating northwestern puts this team on a whole different trajectory). There is zero depth in the qb room- LMC is not a QB. No mechanics change is going to address his inability to throw the ball 15+ yards. Jury is out on smothers, obviously, but we have a 1 QB room at the moment and this QB isnt the answer with his arm. We have the budget to match almost all programs. Why are we settling for staff members such as verduzco who has ZERO P5 track record until this point? Outside of the revelation that was mckenzie milton I'm willing to put my house on the line that this guy has never coached up a guy who made it beyond the equivalent of a canadian football leaguer and even then I'd be shocked to read he achieved that. Thanks for the work but good riddance.. i'll personally send the guy a box of fresh cuban cigars as a parting gift
  8. Think this is a stance all of us can agree on lol^^^
  9. I hear ya man. I'm fine with the decision, but on the flip side, of course id pumped and tune in to a bowl game if they did elect to play. I'm simply calling out there's nothing wrong with fans wanting to have seen a bowl game and being somewhat upset that its not happening. Totally fine. What I take issue with (and no idea if you've made these posts) but there have been posts questioning the "manhood" and character of players on this team for opting out. They made the decision for a reason and I'm ok with that. I'm not the one out there on the field and they made this decision for reasons that ultimately belong to only those in the locker room. This decision doesnt sway my outlook on next year. What would sway my outlook is this team being divided heading into a meaningless game and it shows up on the field. That would be a miserable way to end the year moreso than not having a game at all
  10. Important to note: Its not the concept of wanting to play in a bowl game that is being met with criticism. What's being called out is the criticism from fans calling out the team for not wanting to play in a bowl game.
  11. If we’re being practical technically a 3-5 season isn’t above 500 and would automatically be dq’d from a bowl season anyways also bud, that’s your job, that pays you and you agree to work there. These are still amateur athletes.
  12. Honestly, probably the right decision. What did we have to gain exactly by a bowl game, best case scenario? Perhaps a win against some other struggling progrum? This isn’t a typical bowl season where we’d get 2-3 weeks of practices, it would probably be 3-4 days. what could have gone wrong? - An embarrassing performance -A devastating injury -more questions than answers heading into 2021 -going out on a losing note -Time taken away from any potential recruiting motions for the regular signing period/evaluate any potential transfers -Covid exposure to the team -further mental strain during the holidays... while all of us at home, these kids essentially on campus in a bubble during a time of year meant for time with family While I’ve been critical of this team (mainly the staff), I applaud how they’ve represented themselves, the coaches, the school, state and husker nation in what will go down as the craziest year in all of our lives. Sure, I wish the on field results were better but so do the players who wanted it 1000x more than me. let’s close the book on the year and get after it in 2021
  13. Deep down we all know the hope runs deep because if we fast forward 8 months we’re all gonna be piss a$$ drink on that husker kool aid itchin for 2021 to kickoff
  14. Lololol, an uncanny resemblance to whatever Baldwin that is to the left
  15. Seems kind of selective though? 3 of our last 4 games came against some of the worst teams in the league in Rutgers, minny and Purdue. not saying chins needs to get canned, but given how experienced our secondary is I really would have liked to see tighter coverage concepts. They balled out against penn st who prolly had the best receivers we played outside OSU. Felt like our coaches held them back
  16. While there’s pockets of improvement on the defensive side, I’m still not sure I’d cal the defense good. We don’t have a pass rush and our coverage is still way too soft on the back end. Our horrendous 3rd down defense % is a direct result of this and needs massive improvement. also worth noting- almost every game we played from behind due to how inept the offense was- allowing teams to go more of a milk the clock mode and protect the lead. I’m not sure our defense looks as good in situations where the other offense needs to pass and put up more points. while more consistent than the offense and they did keep us in games this year, this defense still has massive room for improvement from both a coaching/schematic standpoint and playmakers (mainly a dude who can sack the god damn QB close 8-10 times a season)
  17. and with that, i am out. This team doesnt deserve my attention the rest of this friday night. Good night all, 2020, what a year
  18. lol, same.... You'd think we'd pick up a thing or two from seeing every single team just s#!tting on us special teams wise
  19. I dont think he was even touched on that kickoff return... We dont have a punt coverage We dont have a kick off coverage How the f#&% can i get the position of special teams coordinator? Ill take a few hundred grand TO DO ABSOLUTELY JACK s#!t
  20. I know Frosty doesnt want to do it, but he needs to realize to be a successfull coach you need to be the CEO of the program The one thing he shoudl be given credit for is his staff can bring in solid talent despite being an utter train wreck on the field. He needs to realize that he should not be the smartest in the room. He has the money available and i wouldnt be shocked at all if Moos has already told him the money needs to be put towards proven staff members. There are way too many coaches on this staff who earned the job of their lifetime for this position and the fact of the matter is this is not a school and progrum where that should be the case. Are we ohio sate? No, and most likely we never will be. But we sure as hell arent rutgers, purdue, northwestern, illinois, etc. While this might be a super optimistic take- a simple change at QB coach and defsnive philisophy changes this craptastic 3-9/4-8 team into a 7-5/8-4 team... from there, thats where minor changes then gets you into the 9-3/10-2 arena and if the starts align puts you in a position some years to be undefeated into november or 1 losss and into the Big10 title game.
  21. I'd love to be a fly int he wall during the week to witness: "alright guys, on 4th and short, lets let the flood gates open and give up a big run, they wont see it coming"
  22. Hopefully he can wave his wand and make himself disappear
  23. Can someone also explain what a Gavilan College is?
