  1. Do we really know that Bo is this much of a control freak? I'm not trying to be a wise apple. I've heard people say this but is it just conjecture or fact? I've visited with people in and around the program that have stated this... I've visited with people in and around the program that have stated the opposite. So he's overcontrolling and not letting the assistants do their jobs or is not paying enough attention to his assistants and they are the ones not doing their jobs. Which is it?
  2. That. I don't get all the coach apologists. Football ain't rocket science. And NU fans, by and large know what is happening on the field. And giving up 63 points is BAD. Bo's defense continues to stagnate or regress. He's supposed to be defensive genius but he continues to fail to stop mobile qbs. You start to wonder if scheme has something to do with it. Are we really just starting to wonder? And when a defensive genius (self proclaimed) lets his team consistently give up huge yards and points to the better than average teams you would think he might say hmm..... maybe I need to adjust this scheme to fit my players. Since all of us on the outside can see without Suh he hasn't had a successful defense. It's sad that the offense has to score over thirty to keep us in games on a regular basis.
  3. I wonder if it just takes the right personality to excel with Bo. Kenny Bell and Burkhead are special players, but after that I think a lot of the guys are wondering if they will ever be put in the right scheme to succeed. It makes you wonder with Rome's problems, Moore, and Klachko. Why do they go vanilla against good teams instead of pulling out all the stops? I think they are mentally defeated or have had the heart beat out of them, they are not being coached up. Looked what has happened to Wisconsin after losing their whole offensive coaching staff, are all their athletes all of the sudden inferior? I know its a new quarterback but their lines were playing with anyone last year and look like a very mediocre squad this year. I don't really question the talent on this team as much as I do the leadership, but at the same time you can't fire BO for 9 win seasons. But you can put some strong bugs in his ear to get some assistants that can do the job.
  4. Pretty much agree, Bo has at least 2 more years to show he can compete with ranked teams, not win them all, but compete. After that if he isn't showing he can get the basics down for tackling and playing physical football, his seat could be pretty hot. I don't think Ohio St has much to worry about with recruiting though.
  5. Realistic fans know every year is not a NC year, but when the stars are lined up for a team you expect great seasons. Next year everyone thinks the stars are lined up for the Huskers, so this year everyone was wanting to see the improvement that shows us the staff is building this team to take advantage of these opportunities. We needed to see growth in the lines on both sides, we needed to see a staff that was growing up and learning how and be willing to make adjustments, we needed to see a solid effort for a whole game. IMO we saw none of this. Of course the season is not over, we still have games to play. But for those of us that were expecting to see growth in this unit in the "test games" we already have the answers in UCLA and Ohio St. We already know Michigan is a loss now, we are outclassed on the lines and they have a dynamic running qb. Penn St, Northwestern, and Michigan St are toss ups, and Minnesota is the only one we should flat out win although they are improving and will put up a better fight. I will cheer and enjoy each game just because it's the Huskers, but the season has already given us the answers to the questions we had going in, and I don't like them.
  6. And it has since Suh left, but in 3 years the defensive mastermind can't get over himself and make some adjustments to use the players he has and have a respectable showing. Our D has only looked good against sub par talent, and Wisconsin is way down this year so they fit the bill also.
  7. Bo's defenses do well when stacked with NFL talent. He picked the guys he has now, he made his own bed. I'm not ready to join the fire Pelini bandwagon, but he needs to make some adjustments and lose his stubborn attitude and fix some things everyone on the outside can see.
  8. Sorry, would love to have J.D. also, just because he isn't 280 already doesn't mean he can't muscle up and play some good ball after 2 or 3 years in the program.
  9. I would love to see Christian in red and white.
  10. LSU got beaten by Florida soundly, does that mean all of their recruits are giving up and going elsewhere? It's hard to undefeated in college football, kids know that the teams they are looking at will not win all the games they play in for the 4 to 5 years they are going to be there.
  11. That is BS, in my opinion. LSU and Bama and other top-tier teams have the same expecatations (if not higher) and any coach would jump at the chance to coach at those schools. We have to stop making excuses for our shortcomings. Money talks. The lim-fac IMO is finding a good coach who won't come in and change the entire culture of the program. Callahan tried it and look how that turned out for him. That's because the good old boy system (Tom and the former players) acted like spoiled kids that didn't get what they wanted and undermined him. I hope they do not do that to the new AD and whoever he picks to replace Bo. Incorrect. Callahan failed for the same reason Bo is failing now. Too much blind loyalty. If Callahan had fired Cosgrove after the '06 season, and brought in a good DC, and let the DC pick his assistants, he may still be here. But his loyalty to Cosgrove cost him his job. You are so right
  12. I would agree Carrol is not a fit for NU, but I'm not sure that Gruden is anything like Calahan and I think Peterson could win anywhere.
  13. Never mind I don't think it was today, maybe next week.
  14. Ohio State is not in the discussion. All we can do is win the Leaders division, win the Heisman, and get an AP (not BCS) National Championship Well 2 out of 3 ain't bad but 3 out of 3 being improbable is
  15. Hard to believe KSU is more relevant than us for 2 years in a row
  16. Why did you have respect for Urban? Anyone who wins multiple National Championships in division 1 football should at least be given a tip of the cap. I also respected him for putting his health and family first when he walked away from Florida. But he is no where in the same class as Tom Osborne. yeah that was BS
  17. Well it won't happen this year, we will have to deal with it again next year.
  18. I really don't think we can give up over sixty and expect to win
  19. Bo can coach D contrary to what you all think. And he just keeps proving it.
