The myth that a dual threat QB can't be a good passer is just that a myth. There are dual threat QB's that are great passers and runners all over college football. Having a QB that is no threat to run severely hampers the effectiveness of the offense. That's true, and there are also great dual threat QB's who get hit once while running and are out for the season....or like what we've had, hobbled for much of it. By dual threat they mean a QB who is part of the running game.

How good of a guy Mike Riley is has nothing to do with politics or religion. You must not have read the OP.

I want a QB who can pass really well, ...and scrambling/running ability would be a bonus. Usually "dual threat" refers to a lousy passer. I'm also tired of getting good running quarterbacks and having them injured most of the season.....especially now that we're in the BIG that is full of 300 pound guys whose main talent is falling on people.

So...don't you think these linebacker problems should be fixed by someone? No, I don't believe in the kind of mind control techniques you're advocating. Just because they come to Nebraska to play football it doesn't give us the right to alter their brains. Is that what you're asking, some kind of brain surgery or something?

Who cares? Just watch the games and hope we play well. So far we don't know much of anything because our one quality win was to what's turning out to be a bad team. ​The Indiana game will be a better indicator of where we're at. Until then make sure your pom poms are ready for some serious shaking.

Oregon is horrible. The QB has lousy touch and is inaccurate, the d is full of holes. Not sure how they fell apart so fast but we didn't do anything special by beating them. Nobody looks like world beaters though so let's keep our heads up and everybody stay focused on their assignments... You never know.

Yup. I'm also keeping an eye on Oregon/Washington. Even though they've had some really bad games I still wouldn't count them out. Start counting...Washington has a real coach now. More importantly Oregon has already fumbled and thrown an interception.

If you read the OP, I didn't have every possible option because I didn't think the other options were very likely. I was willing to add options earlier, but not after most of the board has already voted. Also, take note that your opinion when Riley was hired is not what I was asking. It was after last season. Fair enough. Now back to dissecting and prognosticating.

I've been grumbling because I rarely see a LB make a big play. I've asked questions like "Do we have linebackers?" and "Where are the linebackers?" ​I'm pretty much in agreement with TonyStalloni that we're luring the big teams into our incompetence trap. We'll lure their runners 6.6 yards up field and then slam the door.

He had a good, tough series and a big run but Ozigbo was injured. I'd say they're still even. Really the only reason Ozigbo is still "better" or even "even" to people is because they like the way he runs. And it is fun to watch him get a couple extra yards with how hard he runs. But Newby has more yards on 17 fewer carries (22% fewer carries than Ozigbo). His YPC is 1.3 higher than Ozigbo's. He has several runs longer than Ozigbo's longest run. Ozigbo still only has one game all season where his YPC is higher than Newby's worst YPC game. Ozigbo is a good back and definitely has a role on the team. But Newby is much more productive. I don't see it so much as stats but as mental toughness and purpose. He seems to have taken on a leadership role while the others are more followers or part-timers. ​So many players just do what they're told.....I think he's taking responsibility for the outcome.

I like that. We were able to knock them down when we made contact with them. Too bad there were so many times we couldn't even make contact with them until they were half way down the field.

Whatever, about this guy ,but I think the baseball team should go back to the Big 12 until they move the season at least a month into summer.
