  1. I'd go for that if each of those were 8 team conferences that played every team in the conference every year. I even go for randomly generated OC games with some formula for SOS or something determining the opponents and home field. Ain't gonna happen, but since we're just messing around with it.
  2. Where is 'I was positive but now I'm skeptical'? There's only one positive choice and there were positive people aplenty when he was hired.
  3. Probably. But, even if we ran the table this year, there will be some who still sit back with their arms crossed huffing about how he got lucky, the schedule was easy, those teams weren't as good as they normally are....etc. I doubt anyone would be like that if we went undefeated....not doubt, I'm positive.
  4. Gonna have to do more than turn it around in the 4th against Wyoming and Illinois to make me positive.
  5. The homers think we're top 10 and the analysts don't really know because of the soft schedule. At this point it doesn't matter. We're somewhere between 10-25 and undefeated. We have an offense with a bunch of weapons when we're firing on all cylinders and a defense that has shown it can step up. How good are the other teams in the BIG? That's a mystery to me. That's why we have to go ahead and play the games.
  6. So if I happen to be in the area, I can just walk up and buy a ticket? Yeah, I would imagine if you wait until right after the game kicks off, you'll be able to find a ticket for dirt cheap. Indiana's football stadium holds a little more than 50k. I'd be stunned if it was more than 75% full for the Nebraska game. Thanks.
  7. So if I happen to be in the area, I can just walk up and buy a ticket?
  8. He's still trying to will the ball into the hands of his chosen triple-covered receiver, which really bugs me and makes me start obsessing about how that might be the game ball against Wisconsin. But then he threw the TD to the tight end who had hardly played, and other timing passes that he threw like a pro. He's doing good and we should worry more about the lousy pass blocking that causes him to throw under duress than a few target decisions. Like a few screens, counters, roll outs, etc That play where we got penalized for setting a pick and blocking the db's too soon was a sweet looking play. I'd like Bobdog to call more of those and the players to execute them properly.
  9. Some good signs.......T. Newby is running like a pro. D. Pierson-El looks like he got his mojo back. Great players make coaches look great....ask Barry Switzer. We have a number of players who are taking responsibility for what happens and that's big, especially away from home where it's easy for the team to go into a funk without all the fan support. Michigan and Wisconsin also seem less like world beaters today as well.
  10. The defense has looked good in other games...looked like last year in this one. ( Do we have linebackers?) We can beat lesser teams by wearing them down and eventually getting the running game going. Don't know if we can do that against top teams....kinda doubt it. 1/2 our receiving corps can get injured after 2 games in the Big. Basically the Big Ten has historically been like the Monty Python Black Knight League. Terrell Newby is our most reliable back.....a Roger Craig type back.
  11. You're right ...maybe it's just my perception from all the missed tackles that we'd get eaten alive by a good team. Illinois isn't terrible but I think we should've handled them easily. The first half flat stunk. Maybe we would've had less TOP if we had actually scored once in a while?
  12. Our defense is on the field forever and our offense occasionally has a bad game, usually when Tommy passes a lot because our runners can't run. The home crowd seems to have a huge influence as well. Newby played like a seasoned pro today while many of the others looked like it was their first game.
  13. Don't think there's any doubt that Newby is our sure-handed Roger Craig style all-purpose back.
  14. Newby is absolutely player of the game on our side so far.
  15. Not a top 15 performance. ...... We may win and move down in the rankings Until we beat Wisconsin or Ohio State ,we're Kansas State and deserve to be about 27-30.
  16. The draw is their with the DL pinning their ears. Beckson has abandoned the running game and sweeps and screens....and using TA's mobility.......he isn't a pocket passer. Even worse when 5 guys are in your face every play. A couple quick QB draws would slow down the D Once again, why doesn't the dimwitted coaching staff know that?
  17. Said that in the first half, but why don't the coaches know that?
  18. Our running game is nonexistent so Tommy has to play like a superstar at a game that he doesn't do well. Then there's the defense.
  19. It seems like Illinois watched our film and is playing to stop our plays.
  20. Newby waved himself out....wonder if he's okay?
