  1. Did Bobdog really call a backwards pass or did Tommy just throw it that way when it was supposed to be a little flair to the back?
  2. Tommy is what he is as a passer, but the guy is playing like a champ today. Wish Bobdog could find a soft spot and exploit it. It's my fault....I jinxed him.
  3. Holding Oregon to 14 ain't bad. Our O is letting us down. And special teams. Not that we actually use ST's Normally we would've tried the FG and possibly be 14-10. Seems like we're missing a lot on special teams.
  4. The D actually looks way better than last year. Give Oregon some credit......we knew they could score. Our offense looks lackluster today.
  5. Zo was tripped but itwas a bad choice of receivers with all the ducks there.
  6. With the exception of letting the QB scramble for huge gains, they've looked pretty good so far.
  7. We have superstar punt returners who fair catch the ball with nobody near them??
  8. The offense looks outmanned, the play calling looks clueless, we're celebrating good punts. Time to start playing ball.
  9. Well, not containing very well. It's like they don't suspect the QB will have the ball.
  10. Ameer was ahead of him, as was Newby, Cross and others . Didn't he transfer 3 years ago. Yeah, but wasn't he a freshman then? He'd be competing with Newby now.
  11. He was one of my favorites.....don't understand why he didn't get more playing time here.
  12. This will show us where we're really at. We know we have a ton of talent, can we put it together?
  13. Great idea ..........there's surely room for more than one "Gameday".
  14. All I know about Navy is they dress their guys in white and call them seamen. I don't ever want the Huskers to do that.
  15. St. Mary's Asst Coach Sister Theresa-" Bless those Huskers, Sister Mary Catherine, they've fooled us again with their double flea flicker wheel route lateral and now there's no way our 110 lb safety Jenny O'Donnell can handle their fullback in the flat!!"
  16. I learned that if it's 1st and goal from the 4 and we don't want to just line up and say "We're Nebraska....We're coming at you!" ,then maybe we should schedule teams like maybe St. Mary's of Indiana. Then we can be like the girls in that old movie 'Where Angels Go, Trouble Follows" and call a finesse play that will trick the Sisters.
  17. Let's talk after some bigger games. Right now we know next to nothing.
  18. My philosophy is the next time we get 1st and goal from the 4, we send Langs to get a big red Fairbury hotdog and let Tommy call his own play.
  19. You're over-thinking it. Most defenses line up to stop the run on a first and goal because a rushing play is the statistical probability. Making a quick roll-out with multiple receivers and the option for the quarterback to tuck and run a perfectly reasonable call. Even if unsuccessful, it might loosen things up for the running play on second down. The call wasn't cute. It wasn't gimmicky. It was just football. And our quarterback made a terrible decision. The same quarterback went on to make several successful completions with a higher degree of difficulty. If a coach is supposed to scale the game back so far that Tommy Armstrong can't possibly make a stupid play, then Tommy simply shouldn't be playing. But it would be pretty weird to bench the most prolific offensive player in Nebraska football history. That's kind of what Riley said in the post game. He wasn't talking about Tommy, but it's the same idea....if you're gonna make some bone-headed penalty or play every time you're in the clutch then you'll probably be watching. I'd still run.
  20. We ripped off some big screens because of the blitzes, but yeah, you would think they'd look at the obvious. The main "problem" with running was that Bohl sold out to stop it and left the pass 400 yards open. We're still talking about mighty Wyoming here.
  21. I'm gonna assume you're talking to me and throw out that "inside the 20" strawman. On 1st and goal from the 4 ,we should run it 10 times out of 10. If our running game isn't working, the coaches and players need to find a way to make it work. It's not just Tommie, in general I don't want any QB passing in that situation when running is much more reliable. If we were completely outmatched on the line you might think that would be an exception, but that would probably mean we're getting our butts kicked in general and who really cares at that point.
