  1. I'm a little concerned about losing both Cross and Janovich. I hope we don't turn into a bunch of slow to the hole dancers who get caught behind the line half the time. Hopefully we have a few FB's who've grown up knowing about Makovicka.
  2. I have seen absolutely nothing that shows me that TA wasn't the best QB on the team last and now. Not sure where you are coming up with your first sentence. You must be a media guy and saw all the practices then, right? You believe we played the best QB available against Purdue? I'd like to hear about what you saw at those practices that brought you to your conclusion. I don't remember seeing any backups ever....and after listening to the local media rant and rave about Bush and Darlington I find the whole season to be more than a little perplexing....thus the comment about PC crap.
  3. It doesn't matter who is on the d line if we don't use creative blitzes from all positions and keep their QB from standing back there for an hour picking us apart. King Friday should be aware of that by now.
  4. If Riley is smart ,he'll knock off the PC crap and play the best guys. I don't think he has any room for another season of almost wins.
  5. Anyone remember a Husker TE named Johnny Mitchell. How does Cethan Carter compare to him?
  6. Wow, unbelievable. When you only want to protect your image you say whatever you think people want to hear no matter the consequences.
  7. Really? It's not Angus McCorn? Parrella sounds good to me. I think things are looking up...only time will tell.
  8. I doubt you can just buy the best coach. I think we have to take a step up to where recruits think we're a potential contender, then they'll sign on.....same with every team.
  9. Let's hope he's alright. Sounding okay at this point.
  10. This is a misleading thread. You ask a question about the direction of the team and then link an article that I assume is supposed to be the argument for one side. Forget the linked article. We have good players and needs are being addressed. If the team has a good showing then it will be much easier to recruit quality depth and attract top players next season. That's how it works....that's how it's always worked. There is no definitive answer to this question.....success is and always will be a verb.
  11. Good luck ,Lane. Missoula sounds like a great place to live.
  12. Must have missed that, pitchforks were out? He used to hide in his office and pretend he was invisible even though people told him they could see him. Lately he's been out to every Husker sporting event showing his support.....even the Curling team and they're not actually even an official Husker team.
  13. Eichorst has done a lot better since he came out of hiding.
  14. If we get it together and draw in top recruits, I expect to show up in the playoffs and maybe win one. If we don't, I expect to be a middle of the pack team that might win 9 games with an injured QB. A lot of big ifs.
  15. I like drinking a few beers at Saltdog games.....never got drunk there. Wish they'd serve something good like Sam Adams though, seems they always go for the cheapest swill they can find and it kind of ruins the purpose of having it there. Also, if you insist on selling some popular beer like Bud Light, at least have an alternative from this century that isn't made by hoisting a horse above a vat of water.

  17. Yes ,but you have to get the ball rolling to convince top recruits that this is the place. The BIG TEN is wide open for any team that can dominate the line and play clock. Nebraska has top facilities and a visit to Lincoln must be a pleasant surprise to most recruits who come knowing nothing about the place and expect to find a barn and hay field. They need to know the coaches know what they're doing and won't screw it up when it counts.
  18. There's so much activity on this board in the offseason that it really upsets me when someone starts a new opinion thread on players and crowds out all the Husker underwear discussion.
  19. It is appearing that VV is leaving based on his recent tweets. KW has indicated that he isn't sure he will come back for year 6. His comments seemed more like he wants to not come back. That leaves Maurice, Stoltenberg who has to overcome offseason surgery, and the twins who haven't played a snap in college yet. Thanks, I knew a couple reporters had articles about that. My point is that it's not time to panic, we have guys we can move around. My next point would be that the star system is biased to favor California, Texas, and Florida. To me it's more likely that our Kearney guy is a good college player than it is that one of those bigstate recruiting stars will live up to his hype.
