  1. And I don't believe he's gotten the ball to Pierson-El once yet. I'm not sure what his gameplan is supposed to be. Haven't seen Westercamp catch one either. Hasn't passed to Ameer either.
  2. Beck is a momentum killer. They get back in the game and he reverts to pocket passing. Wouldn't that have been the time to pull out a big play and silence the crowd instead of playing into their hand?
  3. Yeah, that's what most of us are saying.
  4. We should continue to be hospitable to all the opposing team's fans who come to Lincoln and thank them for buying stuff.
  5. Why don't we see who voted what and keep that as their sig-line just to save time? I voted nothing will happen.
  6. If we don't play any more games we could move up to #4.
  7. I don't get all this shoe and jug talk.....aren't the trophies we want the league and national championship trophies?
  8. I'd hire the Fat Man in a heartbeat. I don't know if he'd mesh with Bo, but he's got the pedigree and I think he's the poster-boy for the types of guys that are excellent coordinators but not cut out to be head coaches. He'd be a serious asset to recruiting at a minimum. I think Mangino and Pelini would get along great, they're both no-nonsense guys who want results.....especially if Mangino knew he was in complete control of the offense. Not that they're looking.
  9. I just saw the Bluegrass Brainwash Conspiracy where a group of hillbillies are trying to turn the whole country into hillbillies.........it got me to thinking about all the cheese I see everywhere I go. I'm thinking they might be trying to turn us all into Cheeseheads! Warning to Husker fans.........STAY AWAY FROM THE CHEESE!
  10. Uh...yeah...seems like the consensus here is that we want Frost to come here and run the fullback up the middle every play. There are two separate groups taking turns going back and forth.
  11. I hear this sentiment a lot, that the Huskers are very up and down, but this never seems to take into account our opponents. When we couldn't run against Michigan St, it was because Mich St's line was stronger. If Nebraska gets pushed around by Wisconsin, I don't think it'll be due to our inconsistency, I think it'll be due to Wisconsin's size and physicality. We're not going to be better than our opponents at every position in every game. That said, I agree that I have no idea what to expect. I think the game could be a blowout in either direction, based on the games thus far in the series. I agree with what you're saying about our line getting dominated by MSU, .....you didn't hear that from me...and yes, Wisconsin's D is known to be very stout......but I'm more concerned about our tendency to beat ourself, untouched in the open field, than I am worried about a gameplan that can beat Wisconsin. Also it's nationally televised on ABC and they'll want to have plenty of say about how the game goes.
  12. I think the only way Beck is leaving is if Bo gets fired or Beck gets a head coaching job. After hearing Bo pointedly say that we have a QB coach and his name is Tim Beck....also that Joe Ganz does one heck of a fine job.....it seems to me that this message board speculation from the He-Man Woman Haters Club is kind of silly. Seems to me that Bo is going to tremendous lengths to make an unmistakable point to say exactly that.
  13. I feel the same as always....never know which team is gonna show up....will Tommy get the jitters....will the receivers look like all-stars or have the dropsies...will the line block or bump into each other....will the advertisers want to keep it close until the 4th quarter.......will the D play lights out or will there be a bunch of busts.....will we pressure their qb or stand back in the prevent defense? It's always a complete mystery to me what will transpire??? I was watching the scores go by on the TV in a restaurant yesterday and they all looked like basketball scores....50-40....40-30...these were the top teams in the country......and it reminded me of all the bitching about our defense. I think that's just the way it is now....they don't want boring games and they've changed the rules accordingly....no more 70's slugfests....so I'm thinking about lightening up when the opponent pulls an occasional Frost play......hopefully we'll have some flash reverse passes of our own.
  14. His butt hurts a lot more after what TCU did to them.
  15. Wisconsin has too much cheese. I bet there's a huge constipation problem in that state.
  16. Yeah, I think we could go 11-1 or 12-1. Will we....your guess is as good as mine? I could see the defense getting really good, while the offense stops shooting themselves in the foot and gets the most out of our best players.
  17. About Bo's comment that the coach's goal is perfection.......I'm just afraid that they might become TOO perfect.
  18. Maybe I'm completely wrong but I think some of these pass plays are just practice to see if we can do it because the coaches know we WILL have to do it against better teams. We could just run on every down against the weak teams, but we'd get killed by the good ones.
  19. You could say putting Martinez in the pocket was not his strength either. Makes you wonder why we don't seem to have planned rollout pass plays........as though pocket passing is all there is. And if you think pocket passing is all there is, why recruit the type of QB's we recruit?
  20. I heard him in the postgame. He was asked about the offense and he made a short reply about the offense. He was asked about the defense and he seemed happier about them. If they had asked about pizza he would've made a face and a short reply. If they had asked about the voice of Grumpy Cat in the Christmas movie coming out he would've said "That's ridiculous....sounds like a bratty Valley Girl!"...no, that would be me. I don't think we can take much from the short replies he makes in the postgame. I get the impression that Beck and Cotton are completely in charge of the offensive gameplan (could be wrong about that too) and that Bo has no intention of airing any dirty laundry they may have to the public.
  21. WE don't fix anything. This is high school stuff. Like Bo said, they don't have any problem with it in practice. Maybe they need to tranquilize these guys so the center doesn't snap it like a freaking rocket ( just because it's called the shotgun, you're not supposed to fire it at him like your taking down a pheasant) and Tommy doesn't take off before he catches the ball? It sure sounds like a nervous problem to me. I'm now wondering if Tommy's gonna go MSU on us against Wisconsin....acting jittery and throwing the ball all over the place after two seconds in the pocket?
  22. I don't know if I bitched at your observation ,which is correct, I just think WE HAVE TO BE ABLE TO EXECUTE AN ORDINARY PASSING GAME IF WE WANT TO BEAT THE BEST TEAMS. And trying to do it when we're 21 points ahead is as good a time as any. This center/ QB combination is a loser....also, I don't know what the system is for the snap count but it looks like the one we have sucks. Bo seemed to be mystified by what was going on as well, stating that it doesn't happen in practice. It's like both Mark Pelini and Tommy are nervous nellies who have trouble concentrating during the game.
  23. Anybody else thinking about going to Applebee's after the game
