  1. Hey...he would still win us multiple NCs....just ask him.
  2. Actually, healthcare in general is a prime example of how I feel being socially liberal and economically conservative would help solve the problem. If people were open to actually studying the issue....the liberal in the politician would say everyone having access to the healthcare system without bankrupting them personally is the goal. The conservative side of the politician would be willing to at least look at single payer to see if it really is the most economical way of accomplishing that.
  3. That's because people are trying to be conservative both socially and fiscally. When you start being both of those either liberally or conservatively....I think you get problems.
  4. That pretty much explains why Republicans are alarmed because the Dems are so liberal and the Dems are so alarmed that the Repubs are so conservative. Very few people from each party is actually in the middle. I think you will find the reason for that in the numbers of voters who now aren't associated with either party. So, it's not necessarily that each voter has become more liberal or conservative. It's that the center voters of each party have left.
  5. Part of what is wrong with this debate, is that people claim that if we take all the land that us currently being used to produce beef and turn it into producing vegetables, the world would be a better place. Well....that equation uses the sand hills for instance. Who here believes we should till up the sand hills and plant tomatoes? Think of the millions of acres in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas that are used to produce beef. The vast majority of that is in no way able to be tilled to grow vegetables. Has anyone here ever driven through the bad lands of South dakota? Yep, they are used to graze beef. Anyone expecting to grow vegetables there?
  6. I personally would say I would be more for an economically conservative/socially liberal party. I have zero desire to support a party that is so overwhelmed with issues like two gay guys getting married and enjoying life together. (see Republicans during the Bush 2 term).....that they loose site of real problems like wars we are in, infrastructure and budgetary issues. If a party is more liberal socially, they will (my opinion) understand what needs to be done. If they then are more conservative economically, they will do what's needed to be done in the most efficient fiscally way possible.
  7. This sounds like a great plan. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-gm-pension-plan-a-100-billion-problem-swept-under-the-rug/
  8. This is I think the second time in you have come in to a thread with your guns a-blazing where you have had to back track some. I'll still stick with my opinion that pensions suck. It's my opinion and it's not "disinformation". Yeah....this sounds like a GREAT retirement plan. https://www.freep.com/story/money/personal-finance/susan-tompor/2018/07/18/detroit-bankruptcy-retirees-pension/759446002/
  9. Can't get a scholarship player out of Iowa Western.....so we go the walk-on route.
  10. Like I said, I’m fine with someone being vegetarian if it’s based if facts. But, you can eat healthy while eating animal products. For instance, I love steak. What I’ve learned to do is order a filet instead of the giant rib eye. It’s a better cut of meat and then fill up on veggies. I probably have cut down on bread broducts more than anything.
  11. Food and cooking are a main hobby of mine. Just because you are eating healthy, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy food. Its a a lesson I had to learn. I actually eat much healthier when I’m cooking for myself....with better food usually.
  12. I think I was cutting onions when I watched it.
  13. America and the world need more people like this man.
  14. This really surprises me. I would have thought we would at least have him visit as a backup plan.
  15. I’ve been very interested in nutrition for a long time and have worked in animal production for a lot of my life. Its an important subject on many levels. I have no problem with people being vegetarian if it’s based on facts. I have eaten vegetarian meals and have no problem with it. I also have increased the amount of veritable in my diet. I also eat a lot of wild game that isn’t raised in mass production. The biggest thing for me is that I want to eat something as close as possible to its original form.
