  1. I don't have a premium pass to this, but the title to it sounds promising.
  2. It's very relevant considering religious people are allowed to vote and he claims he's Christian. I guess my question is: If Trump was a true Christian, would his nuttiness then be acceptable? Is his faith really the main issue for anyone? I don't care if you are claiming to be in the hoobee doobee club to get elected, if you are in the process of convincing a large number of other hoobee doobees that you are a hoobee doobee to vote for you on that premise, information pointing out that you actually have NOTHING to do with relating to or following hoobee doobee is very important to be pointed out.
  3. I really hopes he's able to make it in the NFL, but he honestly didn't look that good in that drill. What???
  4. Trump is irrelevant to religion OTHER THAN, he seems to have convinced a great number of "Christians" that he is the greatest thing since pockets on a shirt. This article speaks directly to those people and it's an important article to have been written. He is a scam on anyone who even tries to think of themselves as Christian.
  5. You obviously didn't live through nor study the 60s on racial tensions. Are you saying that 99% of the blacks that were just trying to fight their way out of segregation thought the US ...."loved their country and believed strongly and passionately that America was the greatest nation on Earth and represented the very best of political and social forces for positive change and 'good'. " Actually violent crime is WAY down from it's peak in the late 80s. And, your judgement of public education is vastly exaggerated. Now, the one area where I can agree with you on is the nastiness of this election. It has been building more and more every election since probably Bush 1. However, there were some nasty elections in the 60s. Study the Chicago Democratic convention for some enlightenment. We had President's and Presidential candidates assassinated for Christ's sake along with one of the greatest civil rights leaders in American history.
  6. Knapp hold down you passions now. Yes, she doesn't look as bad as she normally does Yes, it is a good pic of her. Speaking of that. One thing that absolutely drives my wife crazy about her is when she was first lady, she was always fixed up really nice. Then, she became Secretary of State and there were times where she just simply looked like she didn't give a crap what she looked like. NOW.....she is back on the Whitehouse trail and what do you know.......she looks all dolled up again.
  7. OH...you will have the normal number of posters acting like they are looking for the nearest shower rod to hang themselves while trying to convince everyone that Nebraska Football is dead and the world is coming to an end. Meanwhile, most of us (while very disappointed) will be looking at the next recruit that wants to play here.
  8. I'm pretty dang sure Ben Sasse wouldn't care that I'm copying his entire Facebook post here. LINK
  9. So you think that we'll repeat breaking in a new offense and defense again this year? Tommy is about to break every single QB record at Nebraska too btw. you mean like lowest average completion percentage? Thanks for proving you don't know what you're talking about.
  10. Fyi...just to let you know. If you become independent, you won't be a minority. There are now more registered independents than any single party.
  11. Here's my issue with issues like gay marriage. I am perfectly fine with people changing their minds on issues. Heck, I have changed my mind on many issues throughout my life. Other politicians have changed their minds on issues. So.....it is clear that at some point, Hillary changed her mind on gay marriage. That isn't that big of a deal. BUT....when she now comes out and says...."I have supported gay marriage all my life"....That is absolute total BS and is just an example of a politician saying whatever it takes to get votes even if it clearly can be seen as a total lie. And...no, she is not the only one that does that. I just wish a politician would come out and say "hey, at one point in my life I was against gay marriage. However, since then, I have listened and learned more about the issue and have changed my mind." That would garner one heck of a lot more respect from me than the crap she (and others) spew. Do you have a source for the bolded? I'm a big Hillary supporter this go around, I follow her campaign pretty closely, and I'm not familiar with her ever having represented the situation that way. On the Issues seems to tell a different story: Then you're either incapable of trying to understand perspectives other than your own, or you're unwilling. I can easily understand and grasp why someone would honestly vote for any candidate running on either side. It's not that at all. The reason I can't understand is because she's a lying, manipulative criminal who should be locked up in a penitentiary but somehow isn't because of political favor. With pretty much every other candidate, I can understand why they'd potentially vote for them. For example: Bernie - If they don't understand finance and don't believe in free enterprise. If they believe in taking money away from people who have earned it and giving it to people who haven't. People who vote for Sanders view him as a Robin Hood-type figure. Trump - If they believe that he will get the wall built, bring back thousands of jobs, leverage China to order North Korea to stand down, shut down Obamacare, etc. Someone who will be firm on issues both at home and abroad and won't back down. Cruz - Another one that I'm really not sure about, honestly. He comes across to me as a liar and will say whatever he thinks will get him votes. Rubio - Lots of people - If they're impressed with his stances on Christianity and religion in general. If they like the smooth talking, intelligent sounding spokesperson that he could potentially be. Jeb - If they're not appalled by the idea of the Bush family being back in the office, and if they agree with his stances on issues that differ with Trump. Carson - If they want a person who will be (in my opinion) the best person at delegating responsibility. I think he's in over his head and would get pushed around a lot, but I think his intelligence and being very level-headed are a great strength of his. Kasich - I'll honestly defer on him and say that I honestly don't know much about him. So as you can see, I can absolutely see why people would vote for a majority of candidates. Just not Hillary (and Cruz). I'm going to assume that when you talk about Hillary being a criminal that your complaint is about the ongoing email server thing. We can't make people care about her sending classified data from unsecured email servers and plenty of people simply don't understand what the big deal is. There are also a lot of people that simply see it as a smear campaign and after hearing about Benghazi Benghazi Benghazi for the last 18 months it's hard to not fault them. Hey...it has to be a "Vast right wing conspiracy" right? I'm curious why nobody seems to be sending the wolves after Colin Powell or Condi Rice, because they were guilty of the exact same thing as Clinton. The majority of Dems do not care about the email issue. Obviously the vast majority of the GOP does. Independents seem to as well at about a 50% clip. We'll see how that plays out in the general. Email stats from poll (p.7) I swear, I'm not going after you today, BRB. Just a couple thoughts. Post #142
  12. I know the right loves to say this. But, I would not call CNN "mainstream left". This was something that Foxnews started promoting when they first came on the scene because they saw CNN as their main competitor for viewers. But, they are far from "Mainstream left". Probably could say the same thing about ABC, CBS and NBC.
  13. Over the last 3-4 years, I have honestly tried to make a very concerted effort to try to do this. Open my mind to "the other side" and to question everything, even my long held beliefs. It has been an interesting time for me with Politics. It is tricky to be both open minded and critical of everything. What I have found though is that I think both sides are so full of crap that they can't be trusted in what they say.
  14. So, I'm seeing all these monthly and annual charges for these services for programing you can find on line. For the people who have "cut the cord", how much do you end up paying after all these are figured in? Honestly, it's nice to just sit down turn the TV on and boom...there are all the channels. We have Dish and I've never really considered not having it.
  15. I'll flat out admit that this year has been disappointing. However, when you look at the recruiting and especially the true freshman class right now, I am excited to see how they pan out. We have seen some flashes from this group already. Yes, we need a big in the middle and that is extremely frustrating that we can't seem to get one. I agree with the statement that constantly changing coaches is not going to get us anywhere. Yes, our record right now is not where we would like. So...you have to look beyond that and see what is happening. We are recruiting well and the players haven't stop playing hard for him. When you have those two things going, you don't change coaches.
  16. If McMullen is at 300 lbs, I can't imagine him playing much DE.
  17. Can't argue too much with that. We Know Gates should be solid. I'm very excited about the three interior players. I hope Knevel can step up and be the player I thought he would be when we got him.
  18. I find something really funny about this picture as it pertains to this thread.
  19. Isn't it next weekend when they are supposed to visit? Supposed to be upper 60s low 70s. Not a mad weekend for them to come.
  20. I have seen absolutely nothing that shows me that TA wasn't the best QB on the team last and now. Not sure where you are coming up with your first sentence.
