  1. I know the right loves to say this. But, I would not call CNN "mainstream left". This was something that Foxnews started promoting when they first came on the scene because they saw CNN as their main competitor for viewers. But, they are far from "Mainstream left". Probably could say the same thing about ABC, CBS and NBC.
  2. Over the last 3-4 years, I have honestly tried to make a very concerted effort to try to do this. Open my mind to "the other side" and to question everything, even my long held beliefs. It has been an interesting time for me with Politics. It is tricky to be both open minded and critical of everything. What I have found though is that I think both sides are so full of crap that they can't be trusted in what they say.
  3. So, I'm seeing all these monthly and annual charges for these services for programing you can find on line. For the people who have "cut the cord", how much do you end up paying after all these are figured in? Honestly, it's nice to just sit down turn the TV on and boom...there are all the channels. We have Dish and I've never really considered not having it.
  4. I'll flat out admit that this year has been disappointing. However, when you look at the recruiting and especially the true freshman class right now, I am excited to see how they pan out. We have seen some flashes from this group already. Yes, we need a big in the middle and that is extremely frustrating that we can't seem to get one. I agree with the statement that constantly changing coaches is not going to get us anywhere. Yes, our record right now is not where we would like. So...you have to look beyond that and see what is happening. We are recruiting well and the players haven't stop playing hard for him. When you have those two things going, you don't change coaches.
  5. If McMullen is at 300 lbs, I can't imagine him playing much DE.
  6. Can't argue too much with that. We Know Gates should be solid. I'm very excited about the three interior players. I hope Knevel can step up and be the player I thought he would be when we got him.
  7. I find something really funny about this picture as it pertains to this thread.
  8. Isn't it next weekend when they are supposed to visit? Supposed to be upper 60s low 70s. Not a mad weekend for them to come.
  9. I have seen absolutely nothing that shows me that TA wasn't the best QB on the team last and now. Not sure where you are coming up with your first sentence.
  10. Interesting answers. I have (for some reason) always been drawn to the Mediterranean area. Someplace like Greece, Italy, France or Spain. I've never been there but it always has been an area of the world that has interested me. I have a HS friend that lives in Italy and they love it. I also have liked the thought of Switzerland. I love the mountains and the chance to spend my life skiing in the Alps would be awesome. Just find some village up in the mountains and get lost.
  11. BTW....booked tickets today for two games in the Cubs/Cards series at Wrigley in August. AND...think I'm going to be able to catch a game in June against the Mets. CHA CHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so ready for summer.
  12. just checking.... You do know Canada isn't in Europe. Ok...just making sure. Didn't want you to get over there and be disappointed.
  13. Thanks...gave me an idea for a new thread.
  14. Quote from teachercd in another thread. You're right. This is a great country and there are some in the world that the people can't leave if they want. This got me thinking about a question I have pondered. I don't think I've ever asked it here. IF....you found that you literally did not want to live in the US anymore. Where would you move? I'm not saying I'm anywhere close to immigrating somewhere else or advocating anyone else does. This is more of a...."Hey, if you had to, where else in the world would you like to live"...type question.
  15. I don't know if they are "TV timeouts" as opposed to regularly scheduled timeouts. If you watch college basketball with any regularity, you would know that there is a timeout scheduled with the first dead ball after every multiple of 4 (16, 12, 8, and 4) minutes. In the past, they might have considered them TV timeouts or media timeouts, but it's a regular part of the game now, at every level. This year, college basketball reduced the number of coaches timeouts to 4, with only 3 which can be carried over to the 2nd half. I'm pretty sure what you are talking about are TV timeouts. However, to keep things equal, even if the game isn't televised, they still have those timeouts. Radio uses them for commercials still.
  16. I had the debate on last night while doing something else. This is a cluster F*** with a capital F. Even the moderators have no clue what they are doing. Hey....can you please ask questions to EVERYONE on the stage instead of the circus act in the middle? Moderator - Mr. Trump, the ex-President of Mexico said they are NOT going to pay for that F***ing wall. How do you plan on making them pay for it. Trump - The wall just got 10 feet taller and I WILL make them pay for it. (Loud applause from the crowd). Really??? That's your friggen answer? People who worship this guy have totally lost it. I do not say this lightly. I've never said this on a political message board or probably in person. But......I am genuinely scared for this country.
  17. It's a frustrating as hell situation. I honestly think if Trump wasn't in the race with his circus act causing the media to ignore so many other candidates, some of these other candidates would have had more of a chance.
  18. So....what punishment is there going to be if the manager takes longer than 30 seconds on a mound visit?
  19. ... is that a recent thing? But yeah, I am a little concerned about him. Is he still fasting? Klien stumps for Clinton and someone else stumps for Sanders. I don't remember seeing who it is. But, there is a clear divide their in their writings.
