  9. Look out, the mods don't like "calling out players". Well sorry, a duck is a duck is a duck! Agree with the OP, TA needs to be benched or moved to another position. Develop POB and scour JUCO for some immediate success while POB works garbage time. 2 coaching staffs with identical statistical results = not meant to be a QB. He can go seek highlight reels elsewhere on the field or at another school. OC even letting him play after walking out (if true) is mind boggling.
  10. He is thee example. You made the general statement of true frosh QB's and happened to be wrong. I never said that he was the rule. I mentioned him, again, because it's not all that uncommon for True Frosh to be successful. Here is another example in the same year and SAME CONFERENCE. Jake Browning - Washington 210/334 (63%) - 2671 yards 16 TD 10 INT 139.7 QBR Brett Rypien - Boise State similar numbers as above. This^^^ I'll take those stats any day over TA's...welcome to being a WR TA.
  11. Josh Rosen. This^^^ +100
  12. W - Fresno State (easy win over 2015 MWC door mat) W - Wyoming (see Fresno State above) L - Oregon (MR is 4 - 11 against Oregon, regardless of venue look for this trend to continue in 2016 as we get destroyed at home, yw Scott Frost for resume material) W - At Northwestern (we always play them tough, next year is our turn at their house) W - Illinois - New Coach (minus TA we complete more than 33% of our passes, no int's and beat Illini at home easy) W - At Indiana (Sudfeld graduates this year, new QB...eh we squeek by) W - Purdue - Possibly New Coach (revenge game for this year, easy W) L - At Wisconsin (this is the safe bet, @Madison, will come down to coaching) L - At Ohio State (total destruction at the shoe) W - Minnesota - New Coach W - Maryland - New Coach W - At Iowa (revenge game) 9-3 or 8-4, optimism reigns....
  13. TA is on his 3rd coaching staff and the results are the same. Get a grip he is not meant to be a QB at this level: http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/tommy-armstrong/Vh3bg_TvEeKZ5AAmVebBJg/default.htm
  14. Greatest fans in college football my ass. You guys sicken me. I'm definitely not the greatest fan. I cheer for Nebraska through thick and thin, but I have had enough with a player who isn't smart enough to understand that throwing off his back foot makes him a less efficient QB. I hope the best for Tommy as he bleeds Husker Red, but time for the coaching staff to move on.Throwing off his back foot doesn't make him stupid. Much like being able to type doesn't make you intelligent.I never said "stupid." I said not smart enough to be a good quarterback. You literally asked for the SAT/ACT scores he needed to go to NU... what does that have to do with football IQ? I would say the scores have plenty to do with a player's tendency towards intelligence and ability. Smarter football players tend to perform better (ex: Suh) Pretty sure the NFL has a type of "IQ Test" they use on incoming players. Wonderlic test: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonderlic_test So he may be on to something. As in us being the best fans your ass...well you live in Austin so become a Horns fan if you don't like us. I'm sure they can use your support right now.
  15. The weird thing is, from everything I know, Tommy doesn't have these crappy mechanics in practice which is what absolutely frustrates the coaching staff. Put him in a full scrimmage, or an actual game, and Tommy resorts to terribly bad habits. It sort of reminds me of Taylor Martinez 'changing' his throwing motion. It looked differently in the summer, and fall practices. But the minute those lights came on and the real games were played, Taylor went back to those horrific throwing mechanics he always had. Exactly, bench him or move him to another position. Maybe defense. Practice is key, but delivering under pressure is key when playing QB. Like a gun shy hunting dog...
  16. We just went head-to-head with the number 3 team in the country. Three weeks ago we beat a top ten team. What the hell do you want? Us to actually win the games we should statistically win. BYU: Led the game 28-27 with :03 left. Lost on a Hail Mary. Miami: Rallied in the 4th quarter to force OT. Throw an INT on the first play of OT, with a bonus unsportsmanlike penalty to essentially give Miami the win. Illinois: Led 13-7 with :55 left. No timeouts for Illinois and Tommy is given the option to pass, which he so happily complies with, throwing an incomplete pass to an albeit open Devine Ozigbo. Given the sieve the secondary was at that point, Nebraska was bound to give up the big pass play, and they did, and lost 14-13. Wisconsin: Led 21-20 after Wisconsin missed a FG with 1:30 left. Wisconsin has all 3 timeouts, and Nebraska runs 3 uncreative totally predictable plays up the middle, running a total of :25 off the clock. Given the sieve the secondary was at that point, Nebraska was bound to give up enough plays to put Wisconsin back into field goal range, which they did. Wisconsin hits a FG and wins 23-21 Northwestern: Held the ball for almost 18 more minutes (note: football's a 60 minute game), ran 30 more plays than Northwestern who was playing a true freshman QB and had just gotten beaten senseless by Michigan and Iowa. Lose 30-28. Purdue: Going up against the worst run defense in the Big Ten with a backup QB, Nebraska throws the ball an astounding, mind-boggling 55 times in a 55-45 loss, which required a 4th quarter rally after being down 42-16. Iowa: Nebraska ran 39 more plays against the Hawkeyes today and held the ball for 13 more minutes (note: football's a 60 minute game). In a windy day, Nebraska scored just 3 points when going against the win and held Iowa, a team who had excelled on 3rd down ALL SEASON LONG to 0/8 on 3rd down. But no, 4 interceptions from Tommy Armstrong quelled any chance of another Nebraska upset. Yahtzee, common denominator = TA....
  17. Bingo, looking down the obvious receiver and zero peripheral awareness on the field. Enjoy playing slot receiver and/or RB your senior season TA. Thanks for trying.
  18. TA's stats have been almost the exact same for 3 years. Same stats, 2 different coaching staffs...I'll let you geniuses marinate on that one for a minute.
  19. My posts keep getting moved. Comical, yes TA deserves to be relegated to another position. Moving my threads doesn't change the truth. Even the coaches know it. Too many Jimmies and Joes need to have a trophy and nobody wants to hurt anyone's feelings...too bad. You don't perform you're fired. Bring on the JUCO xfer and recruit heavy into the scheme.
  20. SorryNotSorry, this has gone on long enough. Not saying he is a bad person, just saying he should not be under center. By his third year as a QB he should be improved, yet he is regressing. It's done, I like the idea of a grad transfer or juco. Bring in someone who can get the job done.
  21. If TA is our QB next season, call it in we are toast. This guy lost the game for us tonight. I don't care what anyone says. That INT to the LB in the 4th was just ridiculous. The fade rout was a poor call but was also so poorly underthrown Gronkowski couldn't have come down with it. If by some miracle we get into a bowl game, bench TA and let's start looking towards the future of this program. That guy at tOSU took one for the team and moved to receiver. Put TA somewhere else, thank you for your effort.
  22. Wasn't alive for Glover but have gone over his stats and he was a one man wrecking crew against OU in the game of the century. I mean unbelievable, something like 22 tackles. Watched Wistrom NU's run in the 90s and it was a special time. That D was all around nasty and loaded with talent/heart. Watching the NC game against Florida still gives me chills; that game was the statement for a defense on a mission. At the end of the day I have to go with Suh. If you put him on either Glover's teams in the 70's or Wistrom's teams in the 90's, wow he would have been unstoppable. Not to mention he would have benefited from having those coaching staffs. Imagine McBride coaching Suh...Tenopir would have had no answer. Never saw Glover or Wistrom intercept a pass, stiff arm the guy who threw it (the opposing coaches son no less), trample him and run it in for a TD:
