This is where I believe you are wrong. Here is the first picked FB in the draft, Jalston Fowler (which is what Cross will most likely enter the draft at).
Fowler- 12att, 69 yards, 5.75 A/yards, 0 TD.
Do you know where this kid went? 4th Round, #9 pick, 108th overall.
Cross- 75att, 384 yards, 5.12 A/yards, 5TD
To say he needs a substantial amount of carries to be drafted, is asinine, and just proven to be wrong. All he needs to show, is he can contribute and be a wreck in the next level. Here at Nebraska, and across the nation for those who pay attention, he has shown to be a player than can get those hard to grind yards.
I find that comparison useless unless Cross switches to FB for his SR year here. You have no evidence or film what so ever to suggest Cross is an NFL Draft level FB, let alone the best FB in the draft. That came off harsher toward you then I planned also, just meant it for convo..nothing personal.
I don't take anything personal man, its the intraweb lol. Anyway, I think there is plenty of film on him with pass protection, and even protection when we had 2 RB in the backfield, as well as him being a bruiser. Its there, and these are the films that they see, as well as his flaws. I still believe he needs to work on his field vision, but outside of that, he is pretty solid and can contribute. Drop 15lbs and become a faster RB, or stay the same weight, possibly gain a few (145ish) and become that bruiser in the backfield and help in pass protection.
