  1. That team in Tuscaloosa doesn't have a whole lot of issues. Add them to the list
  2. RG sure does have a lot of potential, but yesterday he struggled quite a bit. He did a decent job in run support, but he also got man-handled 1 on 1 vs. PSU's left tackle. The last several games he was getting around double and triple teams, but he got stone-walled yesterday almost every time he rushed the passer from the DE spot against just one defender.
  3. I just don't get the love for RK3. Has he had a successful drive since Purdue? Sure, the NW hail mary was a great play, but when you get the ball 75 yards away with a minute left on that drive and you only move the ball 25 yards in that minutes and the longest the ball traveled in the air was 7 yards, that isn't exactly successfully carving up the defense. Everyone keeps arguing that Tommy is playing because he is the future as if RK3 is better to win now but we are sacrificing it to groom a young guy. That is not the case, the team has a better chance to win and move the ball and score both passing and running with Tommy at QB. If you have really seen anything that leads you to believe RK3 would score more points than Tommy, then well, i don't know what you're watching. One fair argument I could see is that RK3 may turn the ball over less, which is something that is fair to assume. But that just makes our offense go into 2009 mode. We score maybe 6 points against MSU with RK3 in the whole game, the difference is that we don't have 2009's defense. We need Tommy in the game to move the ball, he just needs to turn the ball over less.
  4. not to mention that most of them probably want to eventually leave because of their rising stock. Barney to Bama!!!!!
  5. He has also played this year. So he didn't redshirt.
  6. Great points It's true and all, but isn't that different than any other job anywhere? I work in the financial industry, if I don't do my job to the satisfaction of my superiors, I get fired and that may require me relocating. The difference is is that I make about half as much as most of the assistants. Plus, in coaching, they all know this is part of the deal. You honestly think Terry Joesph moved to Nebraska thinking he was going to live here for the next 35 years? Fisher, Papuchis?? These guys know the deal and they are compensated extremely well. Sure, it's something that may not be ideal, but Bo made $88,500 TODAY. IN 24 HOURS! I would take that paycheck any day, even knowing that if my boss isn't satisfied, I might be fired.
  7. He also weighs about about 235 pounds. That is probably a little light. He came in at 255. Dropped to 246 by the end of fall camp. Now has dropped 15-20 pounds during the season. He has had trouble with his weight and he isn't going to get drafted very high with only ONE season under his belt and 30 pounds too light. He needs another year. Teams are very skeptical and hesitant to draft a player who has one only one year on film.
  8. The often-stated, well known reason why Randy Gregory even became interested in Nebraska was because he thought/knew the coaching staff at Purdue was on the way out. So yes, recruits actually do worry who is in and who is out. That is why you see recruits disperse if and when a coaching change is made. You can look at our most recent coaching change and see the decommitments made.
  9. A team that can't help but get in its own way for 6 years is a problem. Enunwa will not be back. He has a chance to be really good if he can get on the right team in the Canadian Football League. Going into this season, we had 3 losable games the schedule was so easy. We went 1-2 in those games and lost another non-losable game against Minnesota. Next year's schedule has 5-6 losable games on paper. I bring this up because if you say next year 12 wins should be expected and reachable, that means you feel this season 12 or 13 wins should be expected and reachable and we came up well, well short of that expectation. I'm not saying Bo should go or Bo should stay, but what you said doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you claim next year looks bright without recognizing this year's under performance.
  10. He also has about a dozen quotes of him saying the exact words, "We are here to win championships. Not division championships, either. Conference and national championships and I haven't met my own expectations in that regard." Bo has a lot of quotes where he's said something and meant something completely different or was being a flat out liar, so let's not even get into Bo's quotes. I'm aware of him saying those things you mentioned. My point was more towards, is it his priority? Is it even his top three priority? I bet not. I bet he puts raising these kids, academics, and success in life after football above winning games. And maybe he should? Elite coaches can make all 3 of those things a priority. Just because a coach wins championships doesn't mean he doesn't care about academics, raising the kids, etc. You can do both and all can be a priority.

  12. Did you not see the Minnesota game? I love TM, but let the guy heal for goodness sake. Of course.Taylor seemed to be way less than 75% for that one though. What don't you like about his arm strength, he has the strongest arm on the team. Just because he doesn't throw a rocket every time doesn't mean he doesn't have it in him to throw. His movement in the pocket is really good, although sometimes he throws off his back foot with pressure in his face. But he only did that twice in the Michigan game, so that is steady improvement for his 5th start and shows he is learning quickly. What exactly don't you like about his mechanics, they are solid and have and will get better as he has shown each game. And both can and will be effective, but if you're unhappy with Tommy, yet looking forward to Johnny Stanton, that tells me you have never seen Stanton throw a football. His mechanics resemble 2010 Taylor Martinez. That is not to say he can't win the job and be effective, but the things you're mentioning, Tommy is FAR superior to Johnny.
  13. Those are misreads, not lack of knowledge of the playbook. If Quincy sees a safety over the top, he is supposed to cut the route off at X yards. If no safety over the top, he is supposed to continue running a go-route. It's just the QB and receiver not seeing the same thing.
  14. Michigan's home record since Hoke was hired. They were 19-0 going into the game. Now are 19-1
  15. J.Mitch™ ‏@J_Mitch0518m Yo @DesmondHoward @KirkHerbstreit so the Nebraska secondary couldn't hold the Michigan passing attack?? HA!!
  16. if only he could have made it for the NW game What did that matter? How many public verbal commits did we get from the kids that were there? I think he was referring to the fact that Suh was on the sidelines and locker room during the NW game and that would probably have resonated with him considering he is such a big fan.
  17. I think the biggest question of the game is who do we put on Devin Funchess? The guy is a beast and I don't see who we put on him to cover. Ciante would be overpowered by him and Santos is not experienced and probably not quick enough to stay with him for some of the deep routes they run with Funchess. Stanley is big enough, but would be out of his natural position lining up in the slot and I wouldn't call SJB an excellent option in run support which is needed in that role. I could see us stopping Gallon on the outside, but could see Funchess going for about 150 yards and 2 TD's.
  18. It's sad we are losing a force like Thad Randle up front to be that anchor at the NT position.
  19. Jamal is and has been injured. So much so in the last 2 games he didn't finish the game in pads.
  20. He can interview and take a job. The requirements for a school to hire him before Dec 17, 2016 are: http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/56110/long-road-back-to-college-for-jim-tressel
  21. Ok, so may I ask: do you personally feel Bo should be replaced. If so, who do you see as his top 3 candidates. If not, what changes does he need to make for him to get over the hump here at NU? If you say coordinators, who do you feel as a couple possible names that would be candidates?
  22. Rumors are that he does not anymore. Can't find a link, but the rumors are that he doesn't. Regardless, when you cover up the name on his resume he is nowhere near qualified to be our HC. How about you apologize to the good people of this board for 100% completely fabricating a story to validate your completely inaccurate point of view. EZ-E, people value your opinion to the point where we want to hear legitimate reasons why you do not think Scott is ready for the Nebraska job, but making crap up to support it, it is just embarrassing. Here is a link, for you, calling Scott "an outstanding young play-caller." This seems to contradict all your sources you have planted in Eugene, Oregon. I can find supply more links I read earlier today discussing play-calling specific quotes from Frost, too. http://www.cbssports...-comeback-story Did not even in the slightest imply that I have "sources in Eugene." Never one time did I do that. Read it from stump1 on this board. Which is why I said that "rumor is he doesn't call them anymore." Try reading the post exactly how I wrote it. My thoughts about Scott are very well documented in other threads. But one more time for the slow guy: Cover up the name on his resume and there is no way he is qualified to be the Head Coach at Nebraska. I can't think of anyone even making a case for him. I personally am completely against both Mark Richt and Scott Frost. The Eugene sources was a sarcastic comment, my bad, I could have clarified. That last sentence in your post is fair and similar to how I (and probably the majority of this board) feel. The difference is nobody else makes up fake "rumors" saying Frost doesn't call the plays. If you get it from Stumpy's post, then you certainly can provide a link or just say "according to Stumpy1, I'm not sure if he calls plays anymore." Don't try to be cryptic and pretend like you know your sh#t and have secret information and hide them behind "rumors."

  24. EZ-E, I'm not saying you're wrong, but do you think it's fair to consider that UGA this year has played basically all their games aside from the opener without their: - top 2 running backs - starting safety - starting corner - top 3 WRs Think how we would be if we lost Ameer, Cross, Kenny Bell, Quincy, Jamal Turner, Ciante Evans, and Corey Cooper. Literally, consider it for one second. Then, they have 12 FRESHMAN in their 2-deep on defense. Not because of roster mismanagement or playing a bunch of unathletic seniors while they redshirt the freshman, because they had 7 defensive players drafted last year!! They have played 7 games and 4 have been against ranked teams including 3 in the top 10. They have 2 top 10 wins this season despite the youth and injuries. Anyone can look at their record and say they are underachieving, but take a look at the whole picture before making any judgments - if you still feel that way, fine. But don't act like what he is accomplishing is anywhere close to watch we are accomplishing.
