  1. In our offense a multiple back is an every down back. A big bruiser is not an every down back in our offense. When I suggest Cross isn't an every down back it is pertaining to our offense not Wisconsins or Bamas. Thought I was on a husker board discussing husker things.
  2. We differ there, I see him as an every down back. He wouldn't be productive in our spread formations, but Beck has a very multiple offense, and I could see Cross becoming the every-down back if he was needed.... So he would hamper our ability to be multiple? Not an every down back it would appear Logic always manages too escape you doesn't it..... By multiple, I meant that Beck has a very, very unique offensive system, where he has incorporated a number of different styles of football (power, spread, etc.) into one single system. You are allowed, maybe too your surprise, too be multiple within one brand/style of football (again----power, spread, etc.).... Now, would Cross work in the spread? Well, it wouldn't be ideal. However, he would be able too be used in a number of ways out of our power sets (See: Leveon Bell).... I wasn't aware (by your logic) that being a running back that is tailor-made too a certain style of football means that you can't be an every down back... ------Defying your logic----------> Adrian Peterson, Frank Gore, Lacey(Bama kid), Bell, Ron Dayne, the list could literally go on, and on.... Becks offense is multiple. However a power back limits our options as it pertains to formations. How many of the guys you mentioned have Imani's skill set? The closest being Bell IMHO. Maybe a little bit of Dayne. Crazy how they were not in multiple offenses like ours. The others you mentioned are every down backs because that is what they are. Peterson and Gore are stellar RB that could easily play in a multiple offense like ours. I am saying he is not an every down back in OUR offense. Which you agreed with by saying he isn't suited for our spread formations! But please continue with personal attacks instead of what is in this thread.
  3. Taylor looks more prepared physically but Newby looks like a Heard clone in my eyes. That is a massive compliment as I feel Heard could take 1/2 the carries at RB this season

  5. Looking at the standings we could finish number 8-9 in the final standings which would be very impressive for this year.
  6. So our staff lacks the ability to keep 4 star talent on campus and is so terrible at roster management they wanted to move our 2nd string RB to WR after moving him from CB? The kid should leave as the staff is wasting his college career When did they try to move him to receiver? I hadnt heard that yet. Chaddyboxer mentioned it
  7. We do, and we have the entire Bo era.... This past season we used 4 different RB's about as well as you can use four guys.... Rarely (if ever) do teams split the carries between 3+ backs evenly, and that is why Heard missed on some carries. When you have backs like Rex, and Ameer where do you use a Heard? It is hard too take talent like that (Rex/Ameer) off of the field! This was going too be his year, so if he is leaving for playing time, then it just doesn't make sense.... We are deep at the position, and I've seen some people on Twitter (Sipple and Harvey) point out that they think Newby might have been the backup anyways....Good luck too him, and GBR! You call what we did splitting carries? 20+ for Abdullah and a few scraps for the other two isn't splitting carries Abdullah--- 226 carries Burkhead--- 98 Cross ---- 55 Heard -----52 And don't forget, we have a talented running QB Martinez --- 195 carries So, yes, that is pretty good balance when splitting carries between 5 players like we did. 5 players over 50 carries? That is splitting carries!! You can't have four #1 running backs..... Your best back gets the most carries, and with Burkhead out, Ameer was out best option.... Ameer got so many carries due to Rex being hurt. Take him out of the equation for practically all the season. When your 2nd string RB has the best YPC he might need to have the ball a few more times then 5 at best a game

  9. Do you think Bo, as competitive as he is, let them have one of his best recruits? Come on man I do not think he did but he is a stubborn and paranoid man by all accounts
  10. If Bo "let" this happen he needs to be fired yesterday. Marrow is doing exactly what a college coach does. Personal relationships and business relationships should not intertwine. When they do you get a staff of friends that get out recruited by a GA.
  11. Well all of his friends left the team and now he is here without them. His coach that recruited him left the team and took one of his buddies with him. Would not be of any surprise to me if he transfers at semesters end. Now we know who on our staff had the real Ohio connections

  13. He averaged like 7 ypc...if I'm not mistaken
  14. I would prefer we save an available scholarship for next years smaller class than reach too far. The kid from Louisiana looks solid but other than that I hope we are done at the WR position
  15. I think he's already started classes. So did Braylon
  16. Odd how all these Cardinal Mooney guys are bailing once Marrow leaves. I have a feeling Love will follow suit
  17. Lovely news, this kid has big time talent and will be a stud of a RB. Just another 4 star off the team....
  18. How many of those Nebraska players we had from 1970-2001 were 5 or even 4 star recruits? Not many. It's called being a coach and developing the talent you are afforded. Nebraska has never been a hotbed for high profile recruits, but the athletic ability and faith these kids have in the program is what has created such a successful program. We are not and never will be one of those schools where 5 star recruits flock to. NU had several high ranked classes that featured some of the best athletes in the country. NU can get 5 star talent. The trick isn't having a team of 5 stars the trick is having a bunch of high level 3 stars and 4 stars as your foundation and sprinkling in a few 5 stars to push you over the top. That appears to be the formula NU has used as well as an established walk on program that helps with depth and also gives us a few pleasant surprises.
  19. This is one of the roughly 5 guys in Nebraska that are BCS level talent imho
  20. I have heard the same things in regards to Moore. Sounds like he took it to our D on scout team this year. I expect him to play this upcoming season for sure
  21. Based on mcwilson maybe you should try saying the opposite True, but if he is N then McWilson will be an anomaly as I was correct on a few others. However if he isn't N then I will know to refrain from using those exact words as it pertains to a recruit being N :-)
  22. Lets see if this works.... Sounds like he will be N
  23. How did he not? He showed his inability to read and react to changing circumstances. "Hey, this isn't working so lets keep doing it" who does that sound like? Bo Pelini?
  24. Please tell me this was sarcasm. Please tell me this was sarcasm... Only when you tell me if this was sarcasm will I tell you if that was sarcasm....
