  1. They almost beat flipping Alabama. So? They didn't. They're now 1-2 against top 30 teams in the Sagarin rankings. We're 2-3. Their SOS? 41. Ours? 32. Our best wins? Wisconsin (21 in the Sagarin rankings) (granted we got destroyed by the same team last night), Northwestern (32), Michigan State (41), Penn State (35), and Michigan (19). While everyone here loves to talk about how bad the BIG is (and I won't completely disagree), but it is overtalked about. The BIG is not a terrible conference. Very average, but Nebraska has won a lot of games. 10, to be exact. Georgia's best wins? Florida (4, though this was one of the sloppiest football games I have ever seen), and then Vanderbilt (31). Missouri (43). Those are their only wins against the top 50. Georgia/Nebraska stats stats: Total Offense: 458.3/462.2 Total Defense: 351.3/343.1 Points Scored: 37.2/35.1 Points Allowed: 18.8/26.2 The stats remain pretty even all across the board.. and remember, our SOS is better. The SEC is better than the BIG (obviously) but Georgia got an incredibly lucky draw (No A&M, LSU, Miss. St.). And the bottom half of the SEC is very bad (Auburn, Kentucky?) And they don't much pass the eye test, if you've seen them play. Bama ran all over them (around 400 yards, I believe). They have a good pash rush, but if we commit to the run (which isn't a guarantee with Beck...) we have a good chance to put up some points. Nebraska played horrible last night. Horrible. Stafford himself missed 4 tackles that led directly to touchdowns. Compton missed 1 or 2. Smith 1 or 2. Our Dline got pushed all around, but some of it had to do with the game snowballing. Again, Georgia could very well win by 5 TDs. But I do not think it is a guarantee like everyone on this board seems to think. Georgia is a good team. But we are, too. Not as good as them, and a tad more inconsistent, but we are solid (compared to the other teams in 2012 CFB). I just can't hold out any real hope right now...is it possible we could win? Sure...but I see that as like a 1%, maybe 2% chance.
  2. That would be unfortunate. Beck did a decent job this year, imo.
  3. We should use TO as a base comparison, because what he and Devaney did is what Nebraska football is supposed to be. It's supposed to be conference and national championships. It's supposed to be 11, 12 win seasons. It's supposed to be wins over top 25, top 15, top 10, top 5 teams. It's supposed to be blowing out lesser opponents by 30, 40, 50 points. Nebraska football is supposed to be championship football. Not "runner-up football" or bowl losses. Not 9 and 10 win seasons with blowout losses. Not embarassments on national television.
  4. More like under 200. I don't think it'll be possible for them to score less than a hundred on us.
  5. They almost beat flipping Alabama. So they played good in one game. LSU and A&M also almost beat Alabama, with A&M accomplishing it. We got beat by 39 points by Wisconsin - does that mean they're a top 5 football team and we're some FCS-caliber scrubs? No. Why? Because it was one game. Of course that doesn't mean Georgia is top 5, or Wisconsin is top 5, or we're bottom 10 or whatever. But in order to even get close to Bama, you have to be a good team. LSU, A&M, Georgia...those are good teams. Far better than Wisconsin. I'm not holding out much hope. I'm rooting for Nebraska...but...I have a very, very bad feeling about this. Might want to check and see if you actually agree with the original post or not. It depends on what your definition of "good" is. I think we're an average team. Georgia is a good team. Georgia is going to put us to sleep quickly.

  7. According to who? According to what standard of measurement? I don't like the argument that it's tough to beat a team twice. We know Nebraska could beat Wisconsin, because they did that in September. This was pathetic. If you remember though, Wiscy was puttin an ass-whoopin on the Huskers early in that game as well. True, but Nebraska still won. I expected Nebraska to win. I thought it would be close, but I expected Nebraska to win. I could have accepted a loss by about a TD or so. That happens. But...this... this...

  9. Considering mass majority was that we would go 7-5 this season, I don't know why people are so glum. Yes, it would make a much better offseason, and would be a very good season. Because we should be 11-2 right now and Big Ten champs. We SHOULD have beat Wisconsin. There is no excuse for why we did not.
  10. Wisconsin. Everything about them. Their students are horrible human beings, they attacked my buddy's car last year, I was relentlessly verbally abused last year. Their coach is a douche, known for running up the score. Everything about them I hate. They are the anti-Nebraska: Red, play physical like us, everything, but they are absolutely classless and I want nothing more than to get vengeance on them.
  11. That's because Wisconsin fans are scum. I hate Wisconsin with a passion. Much more than Iowa.
  12. This. So much this. Nebraska...they used to be feared. They scared teams. They were a team that, even if you won against them, you never wanted to play them again. A former K-State player once said: "They were always very classy. They lined up, kicked your ass, then went back to the huddle." A former Mizzou player said that the most painful game was always the Nebraska game, the sheer physicality was just unbearable. You didn't see Nebraska commit too many penalties. Turnovers were a rarity. Discipline was the name of the game, and Nebraska played it very well then. We've lost that. It's like the Keystone Cops out there sometimes. There are hints of that former glory. Bell's block...some of Stafford's hits... It's there...but we aren't capitalizing on it. We aren't building on it.
  13. This game will serve as a measuring stick. If we can actually make it a game...keep in striking distance, lose by a TD or less...then I will feel like there's something to build on. We know that Nebraska is a good team. Yes, I will still say it. But what we want is a great team. This is a decent chance to make a move towards being a great team.
  14. I believe Bo has what it takes, if he's willing to get some actual O-line, D-line, and LB coaching. The skills positions are all well-tuned. Martinez still has troubles, but he'll be excellent next season. Abdullah, Heard, Cross...awesome. Bell and Turner are great. Secondary is fine. But that front line...what Nebraska used to pride itself on... Horrible.
  15. That hit gave me some hope for the future of this program. Players like Bell are what this team needs most of all: Heart, ferocity, and talent.
  16. The coaching performance has been horrible this season. Yes there were comebacks, but I put those more on the players than the coaches. Guys like Martinez, Burkhead, Abdullah, Bell, Stafford...they've been willing this team to victories.
  17. Execution wasn't the problem, because the defense had no clue what they were doing at any point. Angles were terrible. They failed to cut Wisco's RBs off at 3 yards, instead, giving them 10, 20, 30 yard runs.
  18. One difference though, in their entire history they've never had more than 3 seasons in a row with 9 wins. We should keep Pelini just to always be better than they are no matter what. I don't want us to be just "Better than Iowa". That's just being mediocre. I want greatness.
  19. I will root for the Huskers, I'll watch the game... But I do not expect a good result.
  20. Really? Have you ever heard of "first world problems". 'Cause this is one of 'em. This is one of them. Though someone could argue that the socioeconomic impact of a mediocre or downtrodden Nebraska program could be significant at the state and local levels... Lol, I know. Just a sucky moment right now.
  21. This... This is what hell feels like.
