  1. No, I don't think so. Lots of stadiums fill-up nowadays, and fans even show-up for Southern Mississippi. Try again. Which other stadiums have a sell out streak of at least one year. I'll wait...... Oregon, multiple years...in a current streak. It's over 100...not.close to NU but much longer than you seem to think.101, but with an max attendance of 60k...weak
  2. Lol to the biggest troll on the board, pot meet kettlePlz expln. I'm not happy with the program sucking, yet others such as you are. How does that make me a troll? 1st you don't know me nor how I feel about the program so don't go there. That's not what makes you a troll, what makes you a troll is that every thread I read is interrupted by you making the same comments and trying to stir the same pot over and over. It's an old and tired act, everyone knows how you feel.

  4. That goes without saying.( not you, just in general) Obviously. I mean, it is all his fault. Wish the fu&*#r had never happened. It sucks that Bo wasn't able to do things that pop Warner level coaches do, like manage the clock and call time outs, otherwise we could be undefeated right now. Oh.... .....wait. Geez I really don't post much but your act is getting really old man. I'm tired of reading the same crap from you on every single thread on this board, give it a rest everyone knows how you feel!
  5. ??? Miami and BYU are 2 of the top 5 schools we will play this year. Not sure how they are doing it against lower tier teams
  6. Man that sucks, anyone have any clue what happened here? I thought we had a chance early
  7. How can you say he is the 2nd best without ever seeing him have a college carry and coming off injuries? Unless you have watched most practices there is zero way you can claim he is the 2nd best Watching HS film. Good size, runs hard, can run between tackles, has a good attitude, hard worker. Looked good in the spring game carrying the ball. How can you claim he isn't the second best on the team at RB? Strictly because he doesn't get any carries? That's the point I have no idea who the 2nd best RB on the team is and neither do you. If your basing it off HS film not sure how you don't say Newby should be an all American, he had some of the best I've ever seen. 2 serious leg injuries later, i have no idea what we have in Taylor, but I trust that the coaches aren't trying to torpedo the season by not playing our best players.

  9. This is what Ohio St was doing in the playoffs last year. They killed Bama/Oregon with the same power play all night long. It was a beauty to watch.I agree that it was a beauty to watch, but the blocking scheme was actually a zone. See the center would point out the middle of the opponents defense. Usually a MLB, but it could also be a nose guard when going against a 3-4 defense. The left guard and tackle would double team the D lineman immediately to the left of the center's middle guy, but the guard would only hold him long enough for the tackle to engage and then move ahead to block the second level. The backside DE would be taken care of by the H-back who would go from the play side to the backside and seal it off. The QB would read the unblocked backside OLB. If the OLB moved towards the middle, the QB would run the ball outside. If the OLB stayed outside, he would hand it off to the HB, who would find the best running lane in the middle where they had 4 blockers (LG, C, RG, and RT) on four defenders (RDT, RDE, ROLB, MLB). Elliot would just hit the hole and be gone. Almost every time they ran that play, it was a Safety that made the tackle. It was a beautifully designed and very well executed play, but it was a zone play. Sure, it had elements of power, but at its heart it was a zone play. They call it "wham", and what a thing of beauty... Also takes a running back that will put his foot in the ground and get up field which Newby is not, (Ameer was one of the best I've seen at it) he would have been tackled for a 2 yard gain on that play because the hole would have closed by the time he decided to go through it
  10. Im bored so I wanted to piggyback a little on what Mav was doing, so I went to look at the bigger plays in the 4th qtr and see what exactly is happening. It is a little scary, but the thing im holding out hope in is that on a few of those plays the coverage was really good and the QB had to throw the receiver open because we did get pressure, and most of the other big plays outside of these 4 are RB out of the backfield, that they do need to figure out. Im actually fairly confident they will get those figured out. For example the first long play to open the 4th qtr, 55 gets pressure in 3 seconds, look at the first screen shot of when the QB has to release it, then look at the 2nd screen shot and look at what he is seeing, the WR is in no way open he just chucked it up and let the receiver go get it (thats my biggest gripe with the DB's, Rose specifically, is they never turn and find the ball) On the 3rd and 20 TD play, cockrell lines up 10 yds off the slot WR and then gets caught flat footed while the MLB doesn't quite drop far enough to take away the easy over the top pass, but bottom line is Cockrell cant cover a slot WR 1 on 1 with a free release. On the 1st and 10 play the QB again throws it when Rose is covering well and he doesn't turn and look for the ball. On the 4th and 4 TD, Kalu jumps an outside route, the receiver makes a quick cut inside and Kalu cant catch up, I'm not positive but it looks like a WR read route that if the LB stays home he cuts it out but if he goes with the back out of the back field he cuts back in, (actually similar route to the 1st and 10 on this drive that time the WR did cut it outside, prob why Kalu was cheating) great play design, but again a DB that is struggling with a slot WR with a free release The last 2 were in zone, the slot WR found the soft spot and the QB threw it to a spot, I think it was the same rout and same play, Kalu had good coverage on the 1st but got turned around on the 2nd. Moral of the story is 1)Turn and find the ball 2)Figure out how to cover the slot and the RB out of the backfield. I really do think they will figure it out and be fine.
  11. Nate Clouse said he hasn't done any interviews since his visit but the people he has spoken to made it seem like it looks pretty good for us, a few other people in his life need to sign off on it but mom is feeling better about having him come here. Also said he wouldn't be surprised if he flipped
  12. Nate Clouse just said on 1620 that he is still committed but wouldn't be surprised if both parties moved on.
  13. How does someone have academic issues in their first month of college?

  15. I think this sums it up well, disappointing to say the least
  16. Not that we don't need pass rushers, but if you go back and watch the game, the pass rush was actually pretty good. Three sacks against Taysum Hill is about as good as it gets. I had my doubts he was 100% heathly, but he was before he got hurt again. He is probably the most athletic QB they see all year by far. I am going to give the pass rush the benefit of the doubt on this one. This is a very good point. I will add that when you have a QB that is a threat to run, sometimes the philosophy is to not rush so much and keep him in front of you. Of course when you do that, you have to rely on the LB's and DB's to cover the receivers. Which they had a difficult time doing. I agree that against a mobile QB sometimes its hard, but you also can't just look at the stats in a vaccum and say the pass rush was good. Their pass rush % was 5.3%, the national avg is usually around 5.8%. Also if you go back and look at the sacks, the only one that I would consider the result of a good pass rush was McMullens at the end of the 3rd qtr, Freedoms and Jacks were way more coverage sacks that Hill left the pocket and they got him on the outside they didn't get the sack until about 5 seconds after the snap.
  17. Got in late on sat (just before the game started) but still "got what he came for" he said: "The visit was really good and it was an eye-opening experience for me. i have now seen all sides of Nebraska, of Lincoln, and the program. I have seen the people, how the state supports the school, and I've gotten to see that the people are real there. "I saw Coach [Mike] Riley (Head coach) and Coach [Mike] Cavanaugh (Offensive line) in action they are amazing people. I really liked what I saw." "I just wanted to see if everything I was hearing about Nebraska was true. I had heard about the coaches, the people there, and all that, so I wanted to see everyting for myself. I can say that everything I heard was true. "Everyone there is very genuine and I love that about Nebraska. Coach Riley is always finding the positive in people, the positive in players, and he just keeps things positive. I know coach Cavanaugh can coach up his players, I have seen the coaches in action, I have been around the team, and I know Nebraska has what I need." Still visiting Georgia and The Puffs hoping to decide Oct 12th http://www.scout.com/college/football/recruiting/story/1583949-anchrum-has-eye-opening-visit-to-nebraska
  18. Our view of the team is pretty different than the view of the rest of the country, Andy Staples said in an article yesterday: "Nebraska fans may be stunned by the outcome, but they shouldn't be discouraged by the first game of the Mike Riley era. The Cornhuskers played BYU much closer than expected, and if not for a fluky play they would have won. BYU is as good or better than the rest of the teams in the Big Ten's West Division. If the Cornhuskers can play with the Cougars, they can play with the teams they need to beat to reach Indianapolis." https://www.campusrush.com/jake-coker-alabama-crimson-tide-punt-pass-pork-1334018991.html
  19. So if you look at these screen shots Jacks left hand is down in the midfield N with BYU #24 on top of him, next picture seems to show his elbow or arm bending in an unnatural direction and the last one is him on the ground grabbing it. It is hard to tell, but doesn't look good
  20. 41 passes, 37 runs, terribly un balanced! I get so confused with people who complained when Beck wouldn't attack the defenses weaknesses in the past few years. And yet thats exactly what the coaches did. Their run D was WAY better than their pass D, the game plan was solid (outside of the 2nd qtr) and they made better in game adjustments than we have seen in 7 years. But to answer your question TA was in a boot but sounds like nothing, gangwash is in trouble sounds like, other than that haven't heard outside what Riley said after the game
