For basketball? I think the basketball one is generated randomly within a certain set of rules, can't have more than 3 games in a week (I think), can't have 3 road games in a row...stuff like that.

It's just the luck of the rotation. They'll get off it next year.

But yes, unless Iowa returns back to their own Iowa ways, they should start the year either 6-1 or 7-0. Their toughest road game next year is @Penn State. Every other tough team (Northwestern, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nebraska) they get at home.
