  1. 50% of college football is about recruiting, the rest is teaching & calling plays. The reason Frank is not here is due to his lack of recruiting, Calahan could not teach & Bo lost his job because of his attitude, not football. In no way can you compare the pit of Oregon St. to Lincoln, NE, so please lets stop going there. We need a QB, OL & DE bad. The defense got better and Tommy surprised me in a good way this year. Good players can make an average coach look great. I am willing to give Riley the benefit of the doubt in year 1, but we must as see progress in year 2. Plus a top 25 recruiting class this year and a top 15 next year.
  2. You still have to have the players to run the offense. Tommy is a great athlete, but an avg. drop back passer & our OL is not even close to what we had in the past when Frazier was the QB. That is not on Riley, that is on Bo & Cotton. Our OL recruitung has been sub par for quite awhile. And we have no rush ends.
  3. After next year, we have the Davis twins, Newell & Stolenberg. Is there anyone on the OL that can be converted to DL for depth?
  4. I've heard this before. And if the U would have listened to the fans, Osborne would have won no national championships at Nebraska.
  5. Elkhorn South has a really good RB and he is only a SO, 2 year starter.
  6. Due to HS politics, you will see more coaches following AAU more than HS. A friend of mine's daughter was sitting the bench on the HS team, but because AAU she got a DII scholarship. It was higher offer than the other Sr. who started on varsity.
  7. I doubt it since we have Stoll and Stille, and are actively pursuing Beyer from NDSU i would doubt we are taking 3 possibly 4 Tight Ends. Stille is going to play DE. Carter, Cotton & Foster will be SRs. next year which leaves us with Snyder & whoever we recruit this year & next. I expect we will take 3 or 4 & redshirt a couple.
  8. The droughts that happen in Husker games are very frustrating. I believe it takes someone to step up and make a few plays to get the rest of the team's minds back in sync. That doesn't mean throwing up shots that don't have a prayer. It means someone stepping up their game to the point they are playing sound basketball and making a difference. That can be either on offense or defense. Actually, I would prefer it on defense. Defensive takeaways that lead to fast breaks with numbers advantages change the mood and flow of the game. A lot has to do with the combinations he was putting on the floor. During much of the scoreless stretch, White was on the bench. Miles is trying to make the bench players better and see who plays well with how. We just need to continue to improve.
  9. I have had the same neighbors next to my seats for as long as can remember and they are from different locations in Nebraska. It is like a second family that has the same Husker pride as I do. There is nothing like being at the games, from tailgating to discussing the game at the Railyard or the Embassy.,
  10. Ummm... Did you read the thread? Is there anyone in here who is calling anyone guilty of rape? Not directly, because no one knows who the accused is. This why LPD will not give out this information. People overreact!
  11. As of right now, it is an allegation and no charges have been filed. Too many of you want to hang someone before the true comes out!
  12. At the end of the first half, Nova started making 3s and we panicked, quit running our offense and was taking quick shots. Its a learning process. We had 22 turnovers, 14 from our starters and 12 by our upper classmen. We handled the pressure pretty good all night but had issues driving and not knowing what to do with the ball. Benny & Ty had 10 TO because they cannot finish above the rim with a team with this much athletic ability. Knowing your ability and the team you are playing against would help and these 2 guys are still throwing up bricks!
  13. We just played one of the best teams in the country on their home court. We never quit and we will continue to get better.
  14. By conference, it will be Watson, White, Shields, Morrow & Hammond or McVeigh
  15. He is the best perimeter defender we have. When guards drive on him, that's when he gets in trouble. They shoot over the top of him. Teams have figured out to beat him and its way too easy.
  16. They are isolating Benny, because he can not stay with his man. Once the help comes, open shot. Same as last yr., look good against the bad teams and kill us against the good teams. He is too small!
  17. Started strong vs Rhode Island last year and went ice cold in the second 1/2. This game looking the same. Same coach, different team. It'll all depend if they can get hot again. They are playing pretty solid defense overall. Need a couple calls as we go and just need to shoot better as they did early and they can compete with em. Come on Matty, Nova is a much better team than RI was last year!
  18. Parker needs to come off the bench! Watson is a better all around player.
  19. They were partying, not throwing a party. This means having fun with friends.
  20. I agree, but the thing to remember is that he is still not playing with his players. Parker & Shields are from Doc. Both are good players, but Parker would not be here if it was not for Doc. Miles likes taller guards who can handle the ball & shot. It is great that we are now becoming competitive in basketball! Year four and you're still sticking with this? Besides the fact that Shields is one of our best players, if Benny is still playing either Miles likes him or hasn't recruited anyone better. This line is pretty tired. Yes, because we are now seeing 4 star players coming to Nebraska. As it takes a year to build relationships with recruits and I will also stand by Riley as well. When is the last time we beat a team by 40, like the better teams do. These guys are young and they will get better as the year goes on. So because two out of 15 guys aren't his, we're still saying he's not playing with "his guys"? If they aren't good enough for him, why are they still playing? When was the last time we beat a team by 40? You mean other than the two games we've played this year? I do not know where you are getting at. The players on this team are not all his and we are young & talented. Talented because Miles stuck with his plan to bring in better talent. Shields & Parker are good players to help with the youth, but Parker is starting now due to the inexperience we have at point. He may surprise me, but I see him coming off the bench once we get to conference games.
