  1. This is mind boggling. Esp with Pitch not even making the trip. Boy ole Miles is really starting to wear the welcome a whole hell of a lot faster than i thought he would. Expecting Miracles? We are not good, because Miles has not had chance to teach his recruits. He was lucky when he got Petteway. Without him last year, we would not make the NIT let allow the NCAA tourny. Parker & Rivers are not good D1 ball players. Smith is playing on 1 leg. T. Smith, Fuller & Webster are young. Only time will tell, but we also need to allow that time.
  2. Hard to score with Benny in the game. They double team the ball and just ignore him.
  3. This is something our everyone should watch. This kid has a great perspective on life.
  4. Lets see, new offense, unbalanced position alignment, poor tackling, undisciplined O-Line & dough boy syndrome. This is just a few issues and this is supposed to be fixed in 6 months?
  5. I fail to see how the very first game a coach coaches at a new school can be a catastrophic loss when it's against a decent team like BYU. It would suck. But, it would do nothing to define how the rest of the season would go or Riley's tenure here. Considering that there's some who still want bo here, and some that aren't exactly sold on Riley, plus you have a good chunk of the national media scratching their heads on the hire... Breaking the 2nd to last streak we have going as a time, to a mid-major, while ushering in a new era would be a horrible start. #FireTimMiles. #FireBo #FireRiley #FireEichorst #FirePerlman Did I get em' all? Fire all of em'. Won't matter if they have jobs, the sky will be falling and the world will be ending anyway, so it won't matter. AMEN!
  6. We have 5 starters averaging 2+ SO per game. Not a good stat! The pitcher last night was great. Need to perform better today. Need these next two to get momentum heading into the Houston College Classic. Agreed, but this has been a common feature this year.

  8. I agree, he looks really good in that video. I know this isn't what you meant but I would hope he looks better against high school competition than our current players look against B1G competition. But I'm not sure it's significantly better-looking than this: I also hope he gets stronger. At his current size he will have troubles in the lane, but he has a good outside shot. This year is depressing, I just want to move on to next year!
  9. Mav, I understand the wait & see but you can not tell me Watson & Marrow does not look better than what we are currently putting on the floor.
  10. Also, you are 100% wrong on this. These are perfect examples of the opposite actually. These are things a coach cannot control. He can try but these things are on the players. A coach can bench a player who is not bringing these things to the game, and I think Miles is trying everything he can before he ends somebody's playing time. I know we like to think a coach is responsible for everything, but those things you listed can't possibly be on Miles. These are pretty much grown men you're talking about. Nobody controls your effort, attitude, or tenacity throughout your everyday life, nobody but you. Why would you expect a coach to control those things from five, six, or seven 19-22 year old kids? The effort is on those young men, Miles is clearly doing what he can to show them they need to step up. Hence, the topic of the thread. Did you blame Bo when we put forth a terrible effort or looked uninterested? It's not a dichotomy - it doesn't have to be - an is definitely not - 100% on the players or 100% on the coaches. Everyone needs to do better and can try different things. To state otherwise is not accepting reality. Bo had 7 years; Miles has had 2 1/2 years. At the beginning, I supported Bo 100% and it was time for him to move on. Both walked into a mess. Is Miles the answer? I do not know, but I am just saying Miles needs time to build and the future looks promising.
  11. Our lineman were soft. The Pillsbury Dough Boy has more bulk! The other thing that is amazing is the amount of bulk Ameer & Kenny added after Dobson left.
  12. Miles teams reply on defense & fast breaks. He likes guards that can handle the ball, create & score. This is probably the reason for lower assist numbers.
  13. This is the bossest post that has ever been posted! #Boss Basically...as the stats show almost everything is the same and almost the entire team is the same... Soooooooo...What happened? The other coaches in the league have adjusted and schemed... What has changed besides Ray? It's been brought up before but I think losing Coach to S.Dak maybe more damaging than thought. Was HE the offensive guru? Because his replacement is a guy that "loves' the low-scoring all defensive slugfests....... We never scored a lot last year.
  14. What about on defense? How many did they give up a game last year compared to this year? That might tell more? About the same by percentage! 62 last year, 65 this year.

  16. We averaged 66 last year and 62 this year. The biggest difference between the 2 year's stats is we are getting out shot which goes back to offensive rebounds. We need a pure shooter and rebounder. This would spread out the defense and allow Petteway & Shields room to score.
  17. Hammond is 6' 10" 230 and considered redshirting. With our bigs leaving, he is not going anywhere but the weight room.
  18. I see Marrow playing behind Pitchford, but getting plenty of playing time. He is 6'7" 215 and playing in the post against bigger players. Hopefully, he is 6'8" or 6'9", when he gets here this fall.
  19. We are not going to the dance and I think its more about practice. We are short on talent and some of these guys think they can show up and start. I know for a fact that Pitchford likes the night life. Sunday was the most life I seen out of Rivers since the start of the season.
  20. Sunday was the first game in a long while I seen a Husker team quit playing. Petteway & Shields were getting triple team, while the majority of the team was throwing up bricks. I have heard several past players say that they have been at practice and that they questions the focus of this team, because the players are not executing what they are told in practice.
  21. Miles takes Benny off the point and we are playing better D.
  22. Benny doe not look like the same player as last year. He is getting beat off the dribble and we have not scored a point since he came in the game.
  23. I read somewhere that he was a good recruiter with ties in the East.
