Yeah, I wish him well, but will be surprised if he is much of a factor at GT.....Hell with morrow Jacobson and hopefully a big guy in the next class he probably wouldn't have been much of a factor here. Not saying he wouldn't have helped next year but I think he was way over hyped coming out of high school. Don't think we have room for an additional big guy in next year's class.......... Not without someone leaving.

WOW, we have lost our minds!

With the talent we have, we over achieved last year. We basically have the same team, except Smith is hurt. Lets hope that a big man will help us out.

I'm believe this is true with almost every team from HS on up. I honestly don't understand offensive philosophy anymore. I believe this is more lack of talent. Rivers & Benny and sometimes Pitchford give up the ball too quick and do not look. Benny dribbles around the arc without forcing the defense to guard him. Smith on the other had will drive and dish.

Nice touch, but needs to improve arm strength.

You could argue he is our 3rd best player as well. We look so much better offensively when Smith is on the floor.

Miles has to start playing Smith. He is our best PG.

We still need to make layups and short jumpers.

Both Banker & Hughes stated that they want to be multiple, so we might be in all 3 during the same game. The big thing is that they want to be aggressive, not this wait and see BS of Bo's gap defense.

Give him a chance to get his recruits in the system. There was not much here when he took the job. I like Benny & Rivers, but they are 6 men on any other decent team.

Since he was being recruited by Cincinnati, maybe he is happy with the Hughes hire,

Well we have seen HC's hiring their friends before at good ol' NU. Billy C comes to mind! I really do hope we're not witnessing BC part Duex. I want NU to succeed and do well.. I think I would rather have an all star coaching staff that recruits well as apposed to the nicest coach in the county and his good friends...Sometimes an all star big name staff can be problematic. Probably why there are so few(Bama) around. There needs to be a clear line of authority and egos need to be sacrificed with all star staffs. I was hoping for maybe one big name, was hoping at DC, but I'm fine with trying it this way. I think Riley can coach and once again it will be about recruiting. I do like that he surrounding himself with younger staff members as well as minority hires. Diversity seems to be checked off my list for his staff. Now let's get in these kids living rooms and sell sell sell. Just get good coaches. Who cares how old/young they are or what color their skin is? I certainly don't, actions speak far louder than anything else. agree. who cares if they are friends/relatives/enemies or whatever. If they are good coaches that should be enough This would not be an issue if it was not for Bo. Everyone is shell shocked. It also would not be an issue if people actually followed other teams. No one pays attention to who is being hired as the assistant coaches at schools across the country. Most people have no idea who the assistants in their own conference are, and what their relationships are with those head coaches. It would also be nice if people could make the distinction between hiring your buddies for their first big time job, and hiring buddies who have had a number of big time jobs. Totally agree! No matter who Riley hires someone will complain. It appears that we have way too many Negative Nancys on this board lately. Were any of the people that were viewed as negative Nancy's the Last few years still negative Nancy's? Or are many of them former staff supporters? Have not paid attention, but tired of the consistent negative statements over & over by the same posters!

Over the last few weeks, you have shown to have potential as a lifelong below average poster. You have added nothing to any discussion except that all the hires suck. It is clear you don't support anything. Please take it to the the Youngstown board Kaz. Why is it ok for the sunshine pumpers to get excited over nothing (what some considered lackluster hires). But when someone isnt impressed, the sunshine pumpers jump all over him, calling him "not a fan", "go follow Bo", etc. I wanted Bo and his staff of HS coaches gone 3 years ago..... and i am very underwhelmed by the several of Riley's hires. This is no different than the Bo pumpers saying we had injuries, wait till next year, we dont have talent here yet, blah blah blah - and calling people names and degrading them because they didnt support Bo..... we know how that turned out. Redder, they have an ignore function! Try using it next time instead of proving what most of us already thought about you. Like I said before get over it and support. day after day is getting old!

Here is the one friend move. Maybe he had to give Banker the title for the pay, but Hughes is going to run the defense. I am happy with the new staff, but have questions about Bankers ability. BUT will give him a chance to prove me wrong.
