They seem like a dangerous team but our pitching is far superior. I could see them maybe taking one game but i expect the huskers to win 2, possibly 3 of these games.
He's a good one. I must admit I'm pretty jealous that they've got him and we don't. I thought all along that we should have fired Collier and tried to bring Huggins to Lincoln.
I think we're probably deeper at o-line than we are at the DT spots. Everyone knows he wasn't going to see any action at guard this year but by moving him to DT it gives him a better shot at getting on the field as well as adding depth to the position.
I think this is a positive as far as team chemisry goes. The players will see that Callahan is 100% devoted to them, making him someone they want to play for. I think most players would be glad he's sticking up for the team.
It sounds to me like you're just putting too much thought into it. I love what Callahan said. He said what we all wanted to say. It's not like it's going to ruin the rest of Freeman's life. Freeman is 18 and therfore he's considered an adult. If he can't take a few comments like this then maybe football isn't the path he should pursue for the rest of his life.
I don't think we can really compare QB's from the Osbourne era and the Callahan era. I understand that you're just talking about intangibles but Frazier had a much better offensive line than Beck had his first time out and his playbook was probably half the size.
I think because Blake is recruiting him we should be one of his favorites for a while but it'll be almost impossible to get him out of florida. Let's hope Blake pulls a miracle.
As of right now i'd say that Nunn and Swift are locks but there's no way to tell until everyone gets there. From what i'm hearing about Spain and Purify they should push for the starting spots.
I think we're all a little too confident in steve octavien's ability to perform. I'm sure he can be great but we haven't really seen that much out of him. I hope we're not setting the bar too high for him.
Just think of how much worse it would be if we left him in during a blowout and he get's injured. Definitley not worth the risk. When you're beating someone pretty good you take out your starters not out of sportsmanship but to make sure that they don't get injured.
you can't honestly expect him to say that they talked about the future of the program and what Majerus would think about coaching the Huskers. That would make people even more upset with him. As long as Collier is head coach he's not going to say publicly whether or not they talked about majerus possibly being the next head coach.
The same thing happend with the Dallas Cowboys between Bill Parcells and Jerry Jones. Parcells was working on the espn pregame show and word got out that he had dinner with jerry jones. Parcells kept saying it was nothing more than two guys getting together and talking about football. A few months later Parcells is named head coach of the cowboys. I find it hard to believe that while our basketball team is struggling Pederson just happens to have a dinner with Rick Majerus. There had to be talk about Majerus coaching the huskers.
Something else to think about is Mike Davis at Indiana. He commented about how Indiana may be in better hands with a coach that went to IU. If he steps down at Indiana he may be a great choice for HC.
Tremendous motivator. He coaches with a lot of fire. I think that's what our team needs to improve. He would bring a really exciting brand of basketball to lincoln and it would get the fans excited about husker basketball. We have plenty of good players but it just seems like they're lacking that extra motivation that a coach like Bob Huggins would bring.
