  1. That gets thrown around here a lot but what does that even mean? Are the QBs at Georgia Tech not QBs because they only throw the ball 10 times a game? Was Tommie Frazier not a QB because he was below average at best when it came to the passing game? Yeah. Does a WR who throws a great ball more of a QB than Tommie or Justin Thomas from GT? Or is he just a "QB, playing WR"?
  2. I'm the only one for Tommie?!? Have to go with Tommie. I have to go with a performance during a meaningful game. It doesn't get better than a legendary performance, during a legendary season against the #2 (#1 maybe) team in the country for the National Championship. Tommie was the epitome of dominance during the most dominant season ever. Honestly, can't go wrong with any of them.

    BYU

I know we're all worried about Hill, as we should be, but have we talked about their defense at all? I understand a lot of people are skeptical of how well our offense may play, it being the first game of the season and all. But we're talking about BYU's defense. Does it scare anyone? Their scoring defense for 2014 is 71st in the country and allowed 27.5 points per game. And that's with a shutout of Savannah State. Hill might be their best, fastest, strongest, and most mormon of the whole team, but he doesn't play D. Their best attribute is that they had the 20th best run defense. But the teams may not have had needed to run. A lot like how we were one of the best passing efficiency D's in the nation last year. The fact that we had a leaky run D has a lot to do with that. Even in BYU's losses, each team averaged 145.2 rushing yards per game. They allowed 329.6 passing yards in those games. They're 112th in pass defense, allowing 269.7 passing yards per game. That's just some numbers though. I haven't watched any BYU football. Numbers only tell a part of the story, but the defense overall looks somewhere between average and not-so-good.
  4. The next list is: "Best Head Coach at Each School for the 2015 Season" I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Mike Riley is our best Head Coach this season, but there's a reason I don't get to write this stuff...
  5. Video or it didn't happen........ Tried to find it, there are close to zero videos from 2004. Which, for some dumb reason, I am surprised about... I do remember the play though, kind of hard to forget the few good plays we had that year... No video, but I swear that it didn't happen. Or better yet, it's best that 2004 didn't happen at all. At least Brad Smith was somewhat adequate as a football player (talent alone). Joe Dailey went 4/18 for 26 yards that day vs Missouri...
  6. Just southwest of Haymarket Park. Between the Haymarket Park main parking lot and the new Pinnacle Bank Arena "festival space" parking lot.
  7. Then we'd really have to call you stumpy... ZING!!!!
  8. I would have never guessed that Zac Lee's was up that high. 2009 was such an odd year for our offense...
  9. The awareness of knowing the DB is coming while simultaneously making the catch. That is incredibly impressive. Not a lot of guys have the awareness that Burkhead and these guys had.
  10. Wait for it.........................................wait for it...............................................................................
  11. HAHA! This takes precedence... But you're right, you take into account how each of these guys did in big games, and each one hadn't performed well. But I think in the Lee vs. Keller battle for #5 on the list of QB's in our "not so good-to-bad era", my argument sticks! Lee is the most bottom feeding (well, still above Dailey and Green though).
  12. Keller may have QB'ed the worst Nebraska team, Lee QB'ed the worst offensive Nebraska team we have seen in a while. In my opinion, you shouldn't take into account the "what could have been" factor just because he played injured. He couldn't get it done because of injury, and that's what we saw. And all this really comes down to is opinion. For me, production in tough games is important. While Zac Lee had a 340 yards (career high) against Arkansas State. He also produced 51 total yards against Texas. Keller's career high was 438 yards against Ball State. He also threw for 398 yards against USC. And of course, the game he got injured in, Texas. He threw for 298 yards and 2 TDs (0 ints) before being taken out (Beat Jammal Charles' 290 yard running day by 8 yards!). Those are just numbers though. I don't remember being too impressed by Keller during the season though. Ganz went on to break freakin' records, including Keller's short lived single game passing record in the game against KSU with 510 yards. But right now, I would say I am way more impressed with Keller than Lee. But it's all opinion, I could spew numbers forever. But if you showed me videos of each of them throwing the ball, Lee wins that battle (I despised Keller's throwing motion for some odd reason).
  13. The way David stripped the ball away from Braxton Miller might be one of the best plays I've ever seen!
  14. I was thinking the same thing. He'd play the role that Brad Smith similarly played when he was in the NFL. The occasional "wildcat" for Smith while Martinez would get the occasional snap for an option play. Definitely not a starting QB, but TM could exploit defenses a couple more times than Mark Sanchez could dream of. He has won one, which is more than I thought. Tom Brady has won 21 playoff games. That's ridiculous. I mean, the closest active player is Peyton with 11. Wilson is 6-2 (in the post-season) in the 3 years he's been in the league. Funny thing, Mark Sanchez has won 4. Which totally flippin' negates the argument I want to have... haha! I still stick to what I said... http://www.footballdb.com/stats/qb-records.html?type=post
  15. Any chance you remember seeing any architects logos on the renderings or drawings do you? Color of them?
  16. That's a good list! Personally, I'd rather have Wilson over Romo, Eli and Matt Ryan. And this is more than just numbers, stats, and whatever. It's just the way each of those guys "feel". I'm not feeling it with Romo. He's lost a lot of big games, by no fault of his, but he just hasn't done it. Eli has two rings, but he's seemed inconsistent recently. Too inconsistent. Has Ryan won a playoff game? Flacco I'm on the fence, but he gets pretty hot during the playoffs. I know Wilson obviously does too, but honestly, it's a toss up. The other guys, I can get down with taking before Wilson.
  17. It's also quite advantageous to Nike that Oregon does well. Whether you like it or not, they are the leading team when it comes to uniforms. Seeing that on TV and especially in championship games is great for business. If that happens to be the same team you root for everyday, win-win. How many jersey variations do they have? Whatever is your favorite color. They have it. Nike makes the jerseys, so they make money. I know a lot of sports fans that own something Oregon related made by Nike.
  18. Well, he is an NFL QB, and I think he's definitely deserving of his spot in the league. But, he's not a Top 10 QB IMHO. He doesn't impact a game like a Brady, Manning, Brees, etc. I think he's a great leader and he often makes big plays when he needs to. But, with their roster, I could see a few guys being very successful up there. I don't mean to knock him because I actually like him as a player, but, I just think there are probably 10 or 11 guys I'd rather have. Wisconsin really took a leap forward when he was QB there. Seattle has as well. He may not be the most glamorous of QB's, but he's a winner. He's comparable to Frazier in that regard where he just makes everyone around him better. Russell Wilson is by definition the "It" factor. How you'd rank him with other NFL QB's, I don't know. However, I do know he has just as many Super Bowl wins as Manning and Brees with a lot more career in front of him than them. I'd definitely have him in my top 10, but to each his own. I want to see the complete list of 10-11 QB's that come up before Wilson.
  19. Ha! I thought he won at least one Pac10/12 championship while there, but he didn't. Shaw has won 2 since he's been gone, with and without Luck. Albeit, the 49ers were kind of a joke before he got there. Or am I wrong about that too? Making the NFC championship game in the first year, then the Super Bowl in his second. That's pretty flippin' impressive. It's all pre-season hype. I mean, there was crazy mad pre-season hype for Rich Rod when he was hired at Michigan too. Any rankings by any writer(s) have become a joke. They aren't any more an authority on the game as any one of us. Some of us might even write more about the game than they do. We just don't get paid for it. I know there's a lot of us too that know more about the game than those writers too. (You guys rock...)
  20. I like the idea. But man, you're asking a lot of the guys who pay their donation level who are Row 1 in South Stadium to move for students. It will be tough to beat how close to the action they are. However, moving students closer like that means that they'll actually show up, I'm all for it. Whatever is going to be done, they need to do something with South Stadium. It's becoming a harder sell year by year. Having been obsessed with (and studied) Stadium design for as long as I remember, it's hard to get worse for the fan experience than Memorial Stadium's South Stadium. Concourse area is ridiculously far from the fans. You practically miss a quarter just to use the restrooms. That's almost unacceptable. I know people are going to say "real fans stay in their seats the whole game". I fully agree with that, as I never miss a play. But it's hard to NOT use the restroom over a 3-4 hour span of time. Build an elevated concourse and lounge area under South Stadium. Create more entry/exit points that spread entry/exits throughout that area. Widen flippin seats and aisles (If not in the closer seats, at least in the 60+ rows). I always loved sitting in South Stadium. It's where I sat as a student. It's a great place to watch a football game. But it needs to be better.
  21. The play Mavric is describing is at 1:40 I freakin love that play.
  22. Swing pass at 0:24 "Conventional" screen at 5:00 Beck had "packaged plays" too that sort of worked like your "bootleg passing plays" you're talking about, except they were running option first, then passing second. Those had a PA "look" considering that they were technically possible running plays.
