Wait, you didn't even watch the ehole thing?  Z Connor won probably 3 rounds depending ehat judge you ask.  His conditioning is still that of a UFC guy.  After 5 or 6 I expected him to be gassed from trying to fight Floyd who would avoid the fight at all costs.  Floyd engaged more than i expected.  Connor just couldn't find his KO shot before gassing, but he was getting his licks in.

Boxing techniques only get you so far.  Once MMA evolved kickboxing took it's place and so on and so forth.  The obsession is that Floyd stepping into the UFC would be like watching a hate crime.  Connor would either smash him in 30 seconds or toy with him until he wanted to slam him or kick him.  The transition to MMA is always going to be harder than it would to Boxing.  The rules allow for more action and the style if fighting is far more fast paced than chess match style.  MMA fans want to see it because Floyd is a douche and doesn't respect much of anything.

Holly Holm brought her boxing technique to MMA became world champion by destroying Ronda Rousey and wrecking her fight career.

Has a UFC champion went to boxing and became world champion?  Serious question.

I doubt it, not many making that transition that I know of.  Maybe if you open it up to all of MMA.  I'm pretty sure a few PrideFC guys did with kickboxing etc.
