  1. Not to mention Florida, who hasn't played an OOC game out of state in decades.
  2. Yet you conveniently leave out the SEC losses to Western Kentucky and Rutgers as well as the near losses to South Alabama and Bowling Green while highlighting every single BIG loss.
  3. The three losses actually prove the point that everyone is making. Look at the other ooc games those teams have played. The only half decent wins were LSU over a mediocre TCU team and Alabama over a decent VT team and Carolina got very lucky to beat a good UCF team. The rest of the wins are simply laughable. Thus the point. Whenever the SEC has played above average teams this year they have loss. Thus they aren't that much more impressive than any other conference. Any other confernce would have the same record with that schedule. Bama, their best team defeated a solid VT team. After Bama the rest of the SEC hasn't been better than any other conference. The bottom of the SEC has been just as bad, if not worse, than any other conference. Florida played Toledo, Carolina played North Carolina and UCF, UGA played North Texas, Vandy played Austin Peay, Umass and UAB, Ole Miss played Southeast Missouri, aTm played Rice and Sam Houston State, Bama played Virginia Tech, Colorado State and Georgia State Mizzou - Murray State, Toledo and Indiana Auburn - Washington State, Arkansas Sate and Western Carolina LSU- TCU, UAB and Kent
  4. Only team left that can beat Bama is LSU and I have a feeling that Bama may roll them because of their D and the fact that Saban is a great coach.
  5. Just a joke/play in words. Can't wait to hear about how tough the SEC is and how the BIG is weak due to Iowa.
  6. I predict Bama will fall to #1 Mizzou will rise to 9 or 10 aTm will fall to 15-18 LSu will fall to 11 or 12 Auburn will be 15-16 Carolina will be 18-20 Sadly because the media over-hypes them every year the team that lose never fall and the teams that win rise way faster than anyone else.
  7. I'm happy for them. Like us they were able to escape a crappy situation. Glad to see them succeed. Aside from Colorado every team that left has been successful.
  8. No, the media will say that it proves how tough the SEC is. Auburn will now be ranked top 15 despite not being a top 25 team.
  9. He took a program that was a shell of its former self and gave up 70 points to Kansas. In only 2 years he took them to 2 straight conference championships even with some very badly officiated games during those last two years.
  10. Awesome news. Now I finally have an excuse to quote the Mighty Duck movies.
  11. 1. Oregon 2. Florida State 3. Bama 4. Clemson 5. Ohio State 6. Stanford 7. Texas A & M 8. Miami 9. Oklahoma 10. Louisville
  12. The Bad: Nebraska is not the defending football champion. The Good: Everything else, I got no complaints as long as "The Bad" gets fixed.
  13. The NFL does. A league Martinez probably won't see. Who gives a damn about the NFL. The NFL means nothing to good college QB's. By your logic Frazier, Frost and Crouch were all inferior college players than Ball because they didn't excel or make it to or in the NFL. Such a stupid argument. Are we really going to say that Billy Joe Tolliver was a better college QB than any of those guys because he started in the NFL? All I know is that Martinez has played his heart out for his entire career, took way more punishment and abuse (from the fans) than any player deserves and it is total BS. The guy has done nothing but command respect. Martinez is THE QB for Nebraska and when he comes back that position will be rightfully his. He's not perfect by Martinez is a very good quarterback and one that has already led this team to 2 conference championships. And when he comes back I will definitely cheer as LOUD as I possibly can for him because he has done nothing but EARN the respect of everyone thanks to his heart and commitment to Nebraska. And unlike a lot of fans, he never gave up. GO BIG RED!
  14. My thoughts exactly. This team could have folded and had every excuse to. Instead everyone from Bo down to the players have improved and grown. It's sad to see some still not giving this team credit. Good win today, we have a long way to go but a solid win.
  15. Keep fighting Jack, beat this and then come suit up again
  16. I'm happy, especially after some of the doom and gloom of the last 2 weeks. Just need to finish it off.
  17. IF we start playing to the level we are capable of then this confernce will prove to be way better than the BIG XII ever was. IF we start playing to our level constant trips to the Rose Bowl will be unmatched. I also believe the Sugar would love to have us if we are a top10 BCS team in an odd year that we don't win the title but make it to the game.
  18. Any way we can talk the BIG into taking Iowa State? I always liked them and feel bad they have to be stuck in that crappy excuse for a conference.
  19. I am extremely happy being in the BIG TEN. While football may be down I've always felt that the BIG had a level of prestige to it that was lacking in the Big XII. Just about everyone in the BIG has a great deal of tradition. When I look at the lineup of schools in the BIG and the XII I think the BIg Ten lineup is much better overall. Watching Iowa State getting screwed against Texas last night mad me much happier to get away from that joke of a conference.
  20. Some 2 gaps schemes have the DL read the near offensive linemans initial step- tech Different coaches have different tweaks to it. Thing I always hated about it was that I found that it was very easy fir the D to fall apart if someone missed an assignment. Though to be fair I was a much better O coach than D and spent my time mostly working with O and kickers. So I am no expert by any stretch.
  21. Having coached 2 gap, if your players read the keys correctly it can be a great defense. However if you read wrong it usually means you will have a huge hole and/or your LB will be put on an island. To put the scheme in simple words. The Lineman reads the back and plugs the hole, the LB then attacks the open area and shuts the RB down at the line. If done correctly the D-linemen can draw to O-Linemen towards him giving the LB a clear path to the back.
  22. The main thing I got from this game was that I liked how our defense got hit in the mouth quite early and did adjust and played much better after the 1st quarter. Showed some adjustment and I did feel that Bo had a different feel about him as opposed to other games, seemed more loose and not as high strung.
