  1. Anybody else having Cosgrove nightmares? Our DL can't generate enough pressure to play this style of defense. It should've been over when Taysom Hill went out, but we still couldn't pressure the QB.
  2. Mostly you win those. That was a terrible defense of the hail mary. I agree though, make one of those field goals and we win. Why do we have a special teams coach again?
  3. Ok. I am buying what your putting down. Good point.
  4. I don't see that. I think BYU's offense plays into the strengths of a Bo Pellini defense. I think we would of shut em down. The B1G was Bo's downfall.
  5. We had one play to defend to win. It reminded me of the bowl game hail mary vs. SC at the half. We clearly had the better team but still managed to lose. How is this better than previous years? I don't know. But I do know that I believe if we had Bo as a Head Coach we would have won this one handily. On to the next game I guess.
  6. Last time NU lost to a Mid-Major . . . 2004. Last time BYU lost to a Mid-Major . . . 2014. Sorry BYU, you won't be winning today. But welcome to Lincoln, hope you enjoy your stay and have a good time. Just remember, there is always next week to look forward to.
  7. Did not know there were other players besides Taysom. Will have to check it out. We did lose DPE, our punt and kickoff return specialist. I still think the special teams are often overlooked. Even without DPE, we have top level talent in the kicking game and also some pretty decent return guys besides DPE.
  8. Oh, I completely agree. That is exactly what the game is about. To me it just seem funny how everyone is making Hill out to be this super human. They did it with Jake Locker a couple of years ago. It is not the guys that you have respect for that you have to worry about a lot of times it is the ones you don't respect. Like the QB at Minnesota he killed us last year. I disagree. Taysom is the kind of player who can win a game by himself. Usually a team is what it takes to beat another team.
  9. I need to get in on this. Whenever Nebraska loses or plays bad it ruins my whole weekend. I don't know why, and I wish it weren't so. I just can't stop it from happening though. I think it's been the last decade or so when this started. Is there a pill I can take?
  10. Love the oath. And that flag should be flying year round. GBR!
  11. Here's a question for the BYU faithful. Has Utah surpassed BYU as the premiere school in the state? Utah has joined a P5 conference and they are getting a lot of media attention for the Michigan game. Just curious how you guys see it.
  12. A little extreme, but I like your enthusiasm. be honest, that's what the peters, tomich, and wistrom woulda done. hell suh would too, i want violence, i want to see someone decapitated. i want piss and vinegar, never mind the fact that the mods can attest i detest mormons(pretty sure it was ar husker who gave the warning). Sounds like you got dumped by a Mormon chick or something. edit: there was a joke there that would be frowned on. so no i didn't, i have standards and mormons don't meet them. nevermind the fact i'll say the same thing every week, i want to see the qb's helmet roll off with his head still in it. and his body 15 feet the other direction. Idk, I've heard Mormons are pretty good looking. their morals are pretty ugly though. The fact that you keep up this type of hatred is pretty ugly as well. You've said things on here that would suggest you have absolutely no morals. So for you to say they have ugly morals is laughable. oh boy, what did i say that would "suggest" i have no morals, i'm ready for a good laugh. Do your own dirty work and go look at what you said. I don't care to read it again. read: i don't have anything to back me up, but i still want to claim moral high ground. good job buddy! Go back to school and learn to read correctly. Funny for you to point at someone else for having a "moral high ground." LOL.
  13. Taysom Hill. He is the lynch pin holding that team together. Look at the skid they went on last year when he went down.

  15. I agree. It will be nice to actually have a good opponent the first game of the season.
  16. I have been thinking something new would be nice as well. IMO, this doesn't sound as good as what we already have though. Maybe it sounds better in-stadium.

  18. How does the Kellen Huston incident relate to anything about a fight in a football game? He decked a poor unsuspecting Mizzou fan. There was no fight, there wasn't multiple players involved. I just don't see it. I looked for a bench clearing brawl in all of Nebraska history, and couldn't find one. Maybe if you dig a little more you will find another non-relatable incident to make your arguments with. If your looking for something to relate to the Kellen Huston debacle here you go: BYU's starting CB is facing assault and rioting charges. Salt Lake Tribune. Already facing multiple suspensions for the season opener, and this guy pulls this? The wheels are coming off the bus. I am just hoping BYU can field a team to bring to Lincoln.
  19. Must have been that un-holy buttstuff. "We struggled (getting penetration) last year," Rowley said. "We have to be more physical and then we can open holes." Sorry, couldn't help it. Seriously though: He said that after months of not being able to really hit the QB, he's anxious to get to the Nebraska game and go all out. "That's the best feeling in the first game when you get to hit the quarterback," Kaufusi said. "You're sick and tired of patting them on the back and running by." Daily Herald Looks like they plan on putting a lot of pressure of TA. Beware of the zone read though, or they will get burned. BYU was dinged up quite a bit last year. Plus they moved Bronson Kaufusi to OLB last year. It was a disastrous move. Combined with the injuries to the defense, young guys forced into playing time, and a first time DC the defense really suffered. Bronco took back the defense and the DC was demoted to DB coach. Bronson has been moved back to DE. He's a talent but he's best suited to play DE in 4-3 IMO. So he's still a bit of a square being forced into round hole. The secondary was pretty bad last year, but they get too much of the blame for the defense. The real issue was a lack of pass rush and the secondary paid the price. BYU's front 7 is legit. Bronco has always had a stop the run first mentality. That hasn't changed, but there has been an emphasis of getting to the QB especially with those guys whose whose hands are in the dirt. I think the secondary will be a bit better than last year. There were a few guys who didn't buy in and it exposed the team and scheme which is dependent on assignments. Still, the defense is relatively young. I'm anxious to see if the secondary is improved and if we can dominate an inexperienced line up front. As for the zone read, I don't think BYU is too concerned about it. Bronco defends it and the triple option as well as anyone in the country. Besides they see a better read option QB than Tommy Armstrong everyday. BYU shouldn't be concerned about the zone read, It's probably no big deal anyway. Not saying Taysom Hill is a bad QB, but I would rather have a QB who spent more time on the field than riding the pine with injuries. Maybe this will be the year he makes it through a whole season. He played every game the season before last. I'll take a Heisman hopeful with two freak injuries over Tommy all day. I'm really curious what Riley does with him against BYU. In the past, he's gone max protect vs BYU to beat BYU through the air. It worked the last time they played, though a quick score followed by an interception returned for a TD made it look more lopsided. But Tommy Armstrong is no Cody Vaz or Sean Mannion. I suspect he'll call plays to his strength, get him out of the pocket perhaps on some designed rollouts with a run/pass option. I wonder if we'll see Riley's beloved jet sweep. Not sure who will run that though with DPE out. I'm also wondering how an inexperienced line will protect TA. Moving the pocket will help as I'm sure Bronco will be bringing pressure from all over. I'm looking forward to seeing if TA can pass on BYU because I think BYU will sellout to stop the run first. Good point here. I didn't realize it but now I do. If Riley can beat BYU with Oregon St. players, imagine what he can do now. As this game draws closer, I like our chances of winning more and more. Riley only beat BYU once out of three games and that team that won had talent, enough to finish the season ranked top 20. They were ranked #10 and undefeated coming into that game in Provo. So what your saying is that Riley will be 2-2 vs. BYU after this game. Now I understand. I don't think so. I think Riley is a good coach. But I think TA will struggle with his offense even if it is tailored to his strengths. There will be growing pains with new schemes on both sides of the ball. I don't know about that. TA was thrown into the fire when T Magic got injured and he has been chugging along ever since. TA knows about adversity, and he has been making it work. His last game vs. USC was actually pretty good. I think he will be even better this year. I really think the new schemes and coaching staff will be a benefit instead of a hurdle. We shall see come game time how this plays out.
  20. The difference in talent really only exists at the 2nd and 3rd string. BYU's starters are about as talented as Nebraska, probably more so on offense (with the exception at running back and tight end) I'd argue. But we lack depth without question. And that overall talent is why BYU lost 5 games last year? Must've been a killer schedule you guys played. Losing Taysom was completely deflating. There is no replacing him. He's the heart and soul of the team and means as much to the defense as he does the offense. He is one of those players that just has it. That it factor that makes everyone believe you can do anything and elevates your game because he will do everything to win. When he went down last year with that broken leg I can't even explain what that stadium was like. Combine that with losing our star running back for the season, a couple starting corners and numerous other players and it was a cluster. That team went into a tailspin and only recovered because of the soft November schedule. This season is riding on Taysom. Every BYU fan will be holding his breath when he drops back and wincing whenever he gets hit. That's a reasonable answer. I am not a BYU follower and did not know they were that dinged up. Hope they bring it on Saturday. I am looking forward to a good game.

  22. Haha. Arrested? LOL. You all are a soft bunch.Soft? How about an ear hole sucker punch to a guy facing the other way...that's what I consider soft, or cowardly, or being a pu$$. But hey maybe I'm just old fashion...or an actual man.I don't disagree which is why I'm fine with the suspension. The expulsion talk is just dumb though. And in Nacua's defense I'm not sure he has all of his faculties after getting rocked. He got dropped! Are they just talking one game for him? Not enough if so.I have been mostly just a lurker on this board. I am pretty excited about the game this weekend. I think it will be a hard fought game where both teams have some serious questions in different areas. To me this game is a complete toss up. We could easily get run out of cornfields or squeak out a winner. I know there have been some major egos that have posted as BYU fans. We get real defensive quick. The only thing I want to clear up is the suspensions. Kai Nacua should be suspended for the game. He deserves it and I don't think we will see him Saturday. For those claiming it should be more and are upset about it? Really? Every team has had unfortunate incidents like this. Remember Kellen Huston? He got a 1 game suspension as well and he dropped a poor little fat Mizzou boy who was not involved in any fight. 1 game. So stop complaining about a suspension of a kid you will never even recall who he is after Saturday What I am trying to say is for the most part you guys have been legitimately classy. We haven't represented all that well and for that I appologize. I think the trash talk started innocent on both sides and turned sour as gameday approaches. Best of luck to the huskers after Sat. I hope you go 11-1. Just in case you guys forgot who Kellen Huston was Was waiting for this, and I'm glad it was finally posted. It's really been tough lately figuring out if you're an actual Husker fan or not. The Oregon part has been easy.....Nebraska not so much. Why? Because I try to take the clear bias out of things? Why would I donate to the board if I wasn't a Husker fan? I said what I said because there have been comments leading our BYU fans to believe that this sort of thing has never happened at Nebraska. Which is wrong, that's all I was getting across. It's becoming more and more clear on this board that if we don't spell things out so 100 percent, they get taken completely wrong. Leading to rear end injury. Honest question here, has Nebraska ever taken part in a bench clearing brawl? I've watched almost every game since I have been alive, and don't remember one. I google searched and couldn't find one. I really don't think the Kellen Huston thing qualifies on the same level. So I would say that this type of thing has never happened at Nebraska.
