  1. He also said he is committed to the coaching staff, not the school and that waiting until the end of the season is too long of a wait. We are in a no win situation here guys -- we either fire BC now and get a new coach ASAP, which will cause several players to decommit; keep on the current path, which will obviously cause several players to decommit due to uncertainty; or we just keep the staff, regardless of the fact that they are getting blown off the field week in and week out. This complete collapse of our football team this season is going to hurt us for many years to come.
  2. Remember, these are just a bunch of internet rumors with no substantiated evidence.
  3. I kind of disagree with that is what anyone would do. I think, personally, that if I'm the GM of an NFL team and I get wind of him basically holding NU hostage (wanting MORE than my buyout) to resign. I wouldn't want him around. That is a big IF on wanting more money than his buyout. If he just wants his buyout, so waiting to be forced out. Then yes, he is doing what anyone else would do.
  4. Do you think it is because he knows he has absolutely no shot at every being a Head Coach again, so he is going to just be done with it all (i.e. coaching)?
  5. Didn't see that stats for that one, I'm betting we do that better than them too!!! Yup, I can feel it, we are going to kill them in the net punting aveage and the number of touch backs come Saturday!
  6. Yea, he says that every week and he has done such a great job at it.
  7. Looked at a stat comparison between NU & Texas - only statistical category we are better than them is net punting - Wooo Hoooo, at least we will win the punting war!!! No, can we talk them into punting on first down every series? If so, we just might stand a chance.
  8. Ok, lets see, he was fired from Nebraska and OU hired him to be Co-DC, then LSU hired him to be the only DC. He couldn't help the situation at Nebraskas, and the LSU thing was a promotion. Is there somethign I am missing on his lack of loyalty? Also, yes, I think it is a concern he would bolt for the NFL. But that is a realistic concern with any and all coaches we hire these days. PS - I'm not a Bogazm person. In fact I don't care who we get as coach as long as it is the best person for the job at the time. No homer hires, no "name" hires. Just the best coach based on the resume. One issue I have with Bo - no HC experience.
  9. Shawn Watson has an assistant? This would not be unusual given Watson's and Barnett's releationship. I don't really want Barnett, but I would almost expect Watson to lobby for him. He did win, what, 4 out of 5 Big 12 N championships as coach?
  10. Thanks IBR for the update. And researching all three of these guys makes a lot of sense to me. I think they are all good coaches with the potential recruiting ties that we want.
  11. I don't mind if T. Gill is named coach if he is the best man for the job. Problem is, when you look at all the other schools potentially looking for coaches, he is not on their short list. This tells me we would just be hiring him because he is a homer. While SP just hired a guy because he coached in the Super Bowl once (with no real proven track record - one great season, one horrible season), I don't want to just hire a homer either. Think we'd end up with the same results.
  12. In fact, our offense wouldn't even take the field the entire game to their defense, we'd just punt whenever we got the ball. Nobody wants to see any sort of competence in this game. Instead, we just see whether the worst offense in College Football can score against the worst defense. I predict one play will last 5:37 - it will consist of Notre Dame fumbling the ball and then all of the players just batting it back and forth for the next 5:27. It will end up out of bounds with no clear indication on who last had control. Thus the Sun Belt Conference refs will just call two lame offsetting penalties to replay the down.
  13. I actually disagree with you on this only because we almost are always passing on 3rd and 2 at this point. Other teams use it to catch the D looking run only. As often as we pass on 3rd and 2, it shows me BC has lost faith of the O-line, just like he has lost faith of the Defense. That is why the offensive play calling, and along with it our Offensive stats, are going in the tank. Thus, each week looks worse than the previous week.
  14. Yeah that. As Jason Peter said, bring back the "phsicality" of Nebraska Football. I actually wouldn't care as much if we win or lose if we are the most physical team on the field each and every Saturday (and I can guarantee that if we are, we'll win a hell of a lot more than we lose). That's what I miss these last four years the most.
  15. Yeah, I hope the JayHawks win the Big 12 North (since we can't, well, I think mathematically we can, but after three straght Big 12 beat downs, I'm pretty sure we won't). GO HAWKS! oh yeah, and BOOMER SOONER in the South.
  16. Hey, what type of offense are they running at Buffalo? Everyone assumes that if TG came back, we'd run the option. However, I thought Buffalo was running what could be something similar to the WCO, but simplified.
  17. I must have missed something in the multitude of threads. Did some :asshat get all holier than thou on IBR's info? Has IBR quit posting? Do we now need to be on a PM list to get info? Thanks, PS - add me to this list if it is not too much trouble. If it is becoming a huge hassle, I can wait until the info hits the major news outlets. I'm just trying to keep occupied at this point until this travesty of a season ends.
  18. I know I wouldn't leave until asked to leave by the AD (assuming I liked the job, which I think Callahan does). I'd try to do my best until I was fired. And I do believe he's trying, I think he's just got absolutely no idea how to fix this situation. Your right!! When you have a running back that weighs 240lbs and you need two yards to get a first down at the 6 yard line and you throw twice, getting sacked once and an incomplete pass on the other, if that's trying your best, than he hasn't got a clue on running an offence or coaching a team to fire them up. GBR!!! Or when even the fans can call the play by the back that is in the game, you have no clue period.
  19. I believe they would offer up more monay as an incentive to resign early (as in before the end of the season). Is how the rest of you understood it? I think that's the only thing it can mean, but that's not how it was worded. My guess is just a poor choice of wording on that part. Still doesn't make any sense to me because you could fire him right now. I guess the only thing I can see is that he ANNOUNCES his resignation EFFECTIVE at the end of the season right now, and you have to pay him extra to do that. I think that is stupid, can his ass right now instead and get him th f#*k out of there. Anyone with half a brain can do a better job than that jackass is doing right now - three straight blow out losses, yeah I think I could even coach us to that.
  20. Given the fact that we are getting blown out game in and game out. He would be doing them a favor by quitting.
  21. And with Bill Walsh looking over his shoulder - maybe we've heard of him All that and he is still the crappiest Head Coach in all of football.
  22. And did the coaches teacher him to drop a punt return and how to turn it over to A&M.....did the coaches teach him how to throw one hand up at a sure touchdown pass from Sam Keller in the second half? The main problem with this team is that at the least little sign of adversity, they fold. This hasn't been the case all season, but definitely the last three games.
  23. Because our HC has his head up his ass.
