  1. It speaks to their unserious nature. The United States has never been more wealthy, and the gap between the United States and peer nations is widening. This idea that the challenges the world faces: post covid economic recover, Russian war aggression disrupting trade, and coordinated OPEC oil cuts, would all be magically nonexistent under a Republican is just stupid. But it's all Republicans really have with no substance to campaign on. For the last time, me asking Trump voters to refrain from voting is not voter suppression. I'm simply notifying you people that the guy you twice voted for is currently (losing) one of many court battles and most recently got hit with a gag order after threatening a Court clerk. I know that might come as a surprise to you. Just know, it's okay to be duped by a career criminal, it happens. Just because a lot of us saw this coming and spent years warning you about it doesn't mean you're a criminal too. It just means you have poor political judgment and it's best for America that you refrain from voting because you might endanger America... AGAIN.
  2. It's more likely they slowly adjust and nominate better candidates and eventually take on better policy positions. Much like after the Republican Party accidently invaded Iraq, instituted a regime of institutionalized torture (often against innocent Iraqis) which yielded not a single piece of actionable intelligence, and spent trillions on nation building with nothing to show for it... voters simply forget after a few short years. In 2028 or 2032 the Republican Party will be taken over by a new wave of post Trump morons, appealing to their horde of uneducated voters, and the insurrection they incited and the Democracy they sought to overthrow will seem like ancient history.
  3. Well, possibly. There aren't many other options, but Democrats are sort of in a position to not save him. They worked with him and made a deal on the debt ceiling. McCarthy promptly went back on that deal. McCarthy said he'd only support an inquiry into Impeachment with a vote; he went back on that and launched an inquiry without one. The list goes on. Why should Democrats step in and save the Republican caucus? I get that they're the mature ones that constantly clean up the messes of Republican governorship, but at the end of the day the voters of the Republican party are responsible for the morons they elect. If McCarthy wants to be saved by Democrats - which he doesn't - he'd give them something minor. Chairmanship of committees, consideration of one or two bills to vote on, clean government funding, etc. But he's beholden to his group of crazies in his party and won't offer any of that, and as such the party deserves what's happening to it.
  4. As a moderate Democrat, I much appreciate the Republican race-to-the-bottom. Their insistence on being absolute morons, their base nominating the worst possible candidates, and their policy positions untethered from reality has allowed Democrats to win elections during a time when the systemic conditions favor Republicans massively. Republicans are squandering their time of having massive electoral advantages. It's only a matter of time before that electoral advantage swings back in favor of democrats, at least for Presidential elections. Texas will be a blue state in the 2030s. If Democrats manage to win in 2024, it would mean that they've successfully won 8 years of control during a period of time when Republicans held all the cards and shot themselves in the foot. And I have the lunatic voting base of the GOP to thank. You crazy people are the best, thank you.
  5. Not at all, I'm going through the Juniors and Sophomores on the roster and trying to figure out which players will have to be pushed out to make room. They're likely to push 20 players. I simply saw players like Bretz who's in his 3rd season and has barely cracked the 2-deep. He's been passed by a former walk-on in Sanford. At the end of the day, getting rid of 20 players currently on the roster means that current backups or starters will likely have to move on, and in my opinion Bretz is probably one of those players. I certainly hope I'm wrong.
  6. I know! Like, if The Big Guy wants to improve the healthcare outcomes of the citizens, what's next?! Using the IRS to investigate predominantly wealthy tax cheats?! Passing deficit positive laws to address climate change?! Record low unemployment?! At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if he incites a treasonous insurrection against the United States, engages in a moronic half-witted attempt of overturning an election, or one day appearing in court for a laundry list of crime exposing a lifetime of fraud to his gullible voting base.
  7. Was this because of the blowout? I didn't see Brets much earlier in the season, but perhaps he's improving. Even still, the attrition Nebraska will go through this offseason will impact current players on the two-deep. Assuming most of the current Freshman class is untouched, there simply aren't many options.
  8. Joe Biden and his evil cabal of Demo-RATS continue to cause America to slip further into the clutches of socialism and into the claws of tyranny. If healthcare coporations can't use capitalism to charge extreme prices to milk tax payer dollars, I'm not sure what's happened to the America I know and love. The one that exploited the health of its citizens for profit, like Jesus and Ronald Reagan intended. I ask you, filthy DEMON-crat voters, if Joe Biden is willing to use government resources to sacrifice the profits and shareholders of the Healthcare industry for the good of everyday Americans, what's to stop him from using government resources to sacrifice YOU? I rest my case.
  9. In order to make room for the recruiting class alone, Nebraska will have to get rid of 16 current players. Source. -9 Scholarship Seniors -26 HS Recruits -Arik Gilbert is listed but not in the roster This number will likely grow with a few more recruiting additions as well as additions through the transfer portal. Candidates are: -Jeff Sims -Rahmir Johnson -Garret Snoddgrass -Koby Bretz -Timmy Beekrode -Kaine Williams -Randolph Kpai -AJ Rollins -John bullock -Jimari Butler Chances are they may have to move on from many of the starting OL, however unless they can upgrade from the portal it's unlikely. I can see an additional QB leaving the team depending on how aggressive they are with portal additions. Who else is likely?
  10. I mean, my goodness. The Right wing belief in their own toxic patriotism is so unbelievably stupid and dangerous. They vote for a guy who openly hates America and is obvious to everybody but the cult members.
  11. The supporters for being morons. This whole charade is just so he can say "it was a corrupt lib judge!' because he's guilty as s#!t. Which, to be clear to the Trump voters out there, has been clear and obvious for decades. You're just gullible and are easily manipulated. So, please, do America a favor and kindly refrain from voting or being involved in politics going forward.
  12. He does have a recruiting class that might reach 30 with only 9 scholarship seniors. Between last year and this upcoming season, Rhule is essentially going to do the same thing as coach Prime, just in two years instead of one. Presumably, they genuinely thought the team had a chance at making a bowl game, mostly because the schedule and the entirety of the B1G West is an embarrassment to P5 football. If Nebraska is able to go 3-1 in the next 4 games to beat last seasons win total, it will go a long way in helping Rhule build the culture he wants. If they go lose Friday night, especially if it's a blowout, things will get ugly fast.
  13. Maryland looks like they'll beat Nebraska comfortably. Wisconsin seems to be quite a bit better. Hopefully Nebraska finds a way to win at least 2 out of the next 4. I do think Nebraska has a lot riding on this Illinois game. If they come out with no fight and decide to get bludgeoned like they did against Michigan, things will get bad around here. The culture of losing has permeated this program. The collective recognition of the wheels coming off the wagon; giving up when things go poorly, it's all been happening for to long. It's a plague the upperclassmen have given to the younger players after many coaches and ADs. Frankly, coach Rhule didn't understand how terrible the culture is sound here. A complete roster overhaul with all new players is probably necessary. Let's hope they start winning to reverse it all.
  14. There isn't a better thrower on the roster. Right now, Haarberg is the better passer simply because he doesn't turn it over. There isn't much of a QB dilemma on the team. Haarberg is much better than Sims simply because he doesn't turn it over as often. The only QB dilemma is going to be when Sims plays later this year after Haarberg is injured, how effective will he be, and will he continue to turn it over.
  15. Coach Prime basically gutted the entire roster of players who accepted a losing culture. Colorado still has major roster issues, but they fought back against USC after a rough Oregon game. They will still probably make a bowl game despite a difficult schedule. Matt Rhule is also going to flip the entire roster, but he's going to do it in two seasons instead of one. The hope on doing this is because the coaches really hoped they could get to 6 wins in year 1 considering our crappy schedule. Hopefully they improve week to week and revive the season against Illinois, who is probably te second worst team remaining in the schedule.
  16. What? That's because 'Inquiry' and actual Articles of Impeachment are different things. There's nothing inaccurate about a video of him admitting there's no evidence to support articles of impeachment because there isn't any. He can simultaneously say that he supports an inquiry. Both can be true at the same time.
  17. This is hilarious. I mean, sad because the GOP is a decaying carcass with legions of voters, but it's also funny.
  18. This is just not true. If money wasn't an issue with NIL Nebraska would be recruiting much better players. They would be getting more than Billy Kemp out of the Portal. If you offer kids significant money to come here they will. It doesn't mean you'll land every kid, but the talent acquisition can at least get Nebraska to a much higher level. And while I agree that the stadium needs upgrades to make the experience better for fans, no amount of amenities will make watching a so-so football team get beat by Ohio State worthwhile.
  19. If you really want this entire impeachment distilled into one video, this pretty much encapsulates everything for you.
  20. My God this is getting funny. Not that MAGA people aren't going to red pill themselves into believing any conspiracy thrown their way.
  21. I agree! But use some of that sweet B1G TV money to pay for it. If you're tapping the private side to fund $225 million, why not put that into NIL? Why not use your private donors to help the on field product - the only way within the rules to use money to directly do that - and use that TV money to pay for the stadium? Fans aren't going to be thrilled to show up to a nice new stadium just to watch Nebraska lose to talented teams like Oregon/USC/etc. just because they have seat backs now.
  22. There's a lot to like here, but my question is about the private money. Use that $225 million for NIL to buy players. Adding suites to the field, upgrading the bathrooms, and making the seats comfortable are all great but doesn't really mean much if fans show up to see bad football. Nebraska needs to buy better players.
  23. There isn't a conspiracy in the world a segment of the Republican Party won't cling to. This is a sad reminder that Alabama did, in fact, send their best to the Senate.
  24. The second Republican debate was a sad display. Between Pence claiming he should repeal the Green New Deal (which isn't law), Scott claiming that the Great Society programs were more difficult than slavery, and complete nonsense on nearly every economic point they attempt to make... this was a national embarrassment. It's no wonder Trump increases his lead over this pack of clowns despite racking up felony charges on a monthly basis. I'd like to thank Trump voters for squandering this period of time while Republicans had massive electoral college advantages. Now this party is a shell of its former self, devoid of values, morally bankrupt, and who's favorite candidates are grifters, criminals, or a combination of both.
