  1. This is the political party that's going to dominate elections for the foreseeable future. We've got to the point where we have to stop taking it seriously, it's unfortunate that it's even regarded as a viable option when it so clearly isn't.
  2. I did my best to quote things accurately. The only mention of CRT was a Twitter account, as @Lorewarn mentioned above, and yourself. No other poster did. Your position on this is quite clear and unsurprisingly towes the party line.
  3. Portnoy is also a garbage human being and borderline sexual predator. Read about what he's done to young women here: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thecut.com/amp/2021/11/women-say-sex-with-dave-portnoy-was-violent-and-humiliating.html The guy is a walking piece of s#!t.
  4. The original post was concerning this Tweet: You then responded with this message: I then asked you to elaborate on what you meant by "both are bad", to which you responded with this: This is where you brought CRT into the discussion. Nobody else did. You're saying that "limiting how slavery is taught in schools" is bad, and teaching that "one race is the unique oppressor or victim in slavery's history" is also bad, and that it is CRT. I then accused you of pulling a typical conservative anti-intellectual argument of using CRT as a boogeyman that allows your party to limit teachings of things they find inconvenient. It's dangerous to do so. You then responded with this: Yes you did, previously when I asked you to elaborate. What you think I did was accuse you of saying that limiting the teaching of slavery was the same as CRT, what I'm accessing your party of doing is lumping things that are incontinent to talk about in with CRT in order to ban the teaching of it.
  5. I think the confused one here is you. Firstly, I never said you're in favor of teaching a false narrative of history. What I did accuse you of is equating the proposed Oklahoma law to CRT and being a Russian Bot. Here you comment on the original post concerning the Oklahoma law, which aims to limit teaching about Oppressive race and victim race in regards to slavery. In this post, you say that teaching CRT is bad. This is in response to me asking you to clarify what you meant by "both are bad" in the original post concerning the proposed Oklahoma law. This is why I accused you of grouping the proposed Oklahoma law with CRT, because you did it in the post quoted above. Yes you did, in the previous quote. This brings me to my larger point, the anti-intellectual wing of modern conservativism is dangerous. In this case, anything inconvenient regarding race can be lumped in with a boogeyman like CRT and be banned. This won't stop, the concern is what the new 'CRT' will be.
  6. Yup, the GOP certainly isn't responsible for an untold number of deaths and devastation in this country. No sir, not at all. The real evil in this country is CRT and School Boards.
  7. It's funny because you're equating CRT to any teaching regarding race, and you think it's some evil plot. You tow the Republican party line so hard I sometimes wonder if you're a Russian bot.
  8. Telling students that black people were victims who were oppressed by white people isn't CRT. That's a simple fact of history. Segregation in the south has existed up until recently, heck some older posters on this message board were alive as very young kids/infants in the 1960s when this was occuring. But I understand, being neck deep in the MAGAverse means we craft our own realities. On behalf of everybody who lives in reality, (Climate change is real and caused by people, systemic racism is real and contributes to negative outcomes for minorities, etc.) I want to thank voters like you for making the destruction of this country at least entertaining. It'd be a shame if it were boring, but fortunately we have conservative Republicans steering us into the abyss and at least their insanity is at least funny.
  9. What you said is "both" are bad. Which implies yes, slavery is bad, but also that it's taught in a way that you think is bad. So, please, clarify what you meant by "both are bad".
  10. Care to elaborate? Was this in response to the post about slavery? Because it was absolutely about one race oppressing a victim race. There are hundreds of years of laws documenting it.
  11. One big difference is you can file for bankruptcy if you buy a house and can't make payments. Student loans stay with you forever. It's very difficult to have them discharged via bankruptcy. That being said, I'm not in favor of blanket forgiveness. I think it's politically toxic to implement and the costs are high. Although I am in favor of expanding forgiveness programs if students work a certain number of years, or for 0% interest loans for students in certain income levels.
  12. Just posting this for the conservative members of this board. I want to thank you for voting for Trump, you really are the best. Here's Dr. Brix objecting to Dr. Atlas's, who Trump leaned on for advice, approach to COVID: "I can't be part of this with these people who believe in herd immunity and believe we are fine with only protecting the 1.5M Americans in [long-term care facilities] and not the 80M+ with co-morbidities in the populations included in the unacceptable death toll among Native Americans, Hispanics, and Blacks," Birx wrote
  13. And your choice is to support a party that openly talked about subverting an election. Are you going to change your support in light of this? Of course not. You'd rather we all just... move on. You guys are doing to destroy liberal democracy in this country anyway, maybe we should push forward on more pressing issues. Such as: *Jewish people and their hatred of Israel. *Banning CRT in states that don't teach it *If 70 degree days in December is normal.
  14. This is incredible. Living through a period of America's decline is interesting to say the least. I wish I could say that Republicans being the greatest threat to America was surprising, however, I absolutely am not.
  15. Not only will it stay unpunished, they're going to be rewarded with winning elections next year. In the extremely unlikely event that anybody is held accountable, it has to go to courts packed with Republicans.
  16. Woah, you mean actually take action? That might mean a Democracy-loving Democrat gets elected. Pump the breaks.
  17. Yeah, all those times the coverage on other news networks got their own viewers killed with conspiracy theories. But sure, cite the totally bogus investigation into Russia - the one that yielded indictments against 34 people including 5 former Trump officials. Reporting on the Justice Department investigating Russia (helping your political party, such you seem fine with) is not the same thing as conservative media openly spreading misinformation and getting viewers killed. Not to mention the coverage of the hoard of feral Trumpers that stormed the capital, angry at Mike Pence for not subverting Democracy. Honestly, the race-to-the-bottom conservatives constantly go through to rationalize the world around them is quite funny. Sure, America is being dragged down with it, but at least you guys are making it entertaining.
  18. Yeah, I mean, they all spread lies about Democracy and promote misinformation about COVID, treatments, and vaccines that stastically prove it kills their voters at higher rates. Yeah, totes, they all do that! But hey, I suppose if you're not sure if climate change is caused by people, if Trump had any responsibility for the capital insurrection, or if Dr. Atlas caused harm to Americans with his laissez-faire attitude towards COVID, I suppose it's pretty easy to just write off something else. Being disconnected from reality is a central tenant to living in the MAGA-verse afterall.
  19. Yeah, we're straight doomed as a country. We had a good run. Democrats can only shout into the void at this point.
  20. Nebraska was his only power 5 offer, at least if the 247 profile is accurate. We beat out directional G5 programs for this one. I'm not sure this is really going to fix our issue at running back. Nebraska needs a huge influx of talent at RB and OL to fix the offense, and this class has failed miserably in doing that.
  21. I big thing is the success of teams, players, and organizations who hire psychologists. Players and teams tend to perform better when players have access to this resource.
  22. I think the biggest thing is, I'm not sure if he's much different than most of the running backs we've been recruiting. At least at Nebraska, all our RBs generate average production. I'm not sure if it's scheme, blocking, or a combination. Let's hope he is a stud and plays above his rating.
  23. I do agree with you - I'm glad that at least one Republican had the balls to stand up to the psychopaths currently running the party, and I'm glad that it's a woman. On the other hand, it feels hallow. Most Republican voters - including many on this board - view her as a menace or traitor. Until Republicans pay an electoral price, it all feels hallow. I don't blame the politicians for not sticking up for her. Blame voters for incentivising their behavior.
  24. It's pretty amazing. However, I disagree with her hero status. I think, with Republicans set to dominate elections for the next few decades, her actions will be forgotten by all but the handful of Democrats reminiscing about a bygone era. The sad part about this is that Republicans are going to pay absolutely no price for this at the ballot box.
  25. One thing to note is that, even without this, we're still going to live under prolonged minority rule for the foreseeable future. I doubt Democrats will be particularly effective at building governing coalitions, specifically in the Senate, for decades. But moves like these make it all the worse. We're sort of doomed, and the voting rights laws being discussed do not go far enough to curb it in the unlikely event they pass.
