  1. I don't disagree, but I think Offensive Coordinator options are extremely limited. The coordinators worth a lick are going to join the new staffs at USC/LSU/Florida. They'll have a job for at least a few seasons and recruiting is relatively easy. At Nebraska, they're going to be tasked with fixing an offense plagued with problems and a recruiting situation that is dire. They're essentially being asked to do the impossible in what is likely a 1 year job.
  2. Yeah, I think the goal is to vaccinate as many people as possible. So, with that goal in mind, requirements are extremely successful.
  3. Not entirely accurate, as many states and school districs have vaccination requirements. https://dhhs.ne.gov/Pages/School-Immunization.aspx "To attend school, children in Nebraska are required to be immunized against the following diseases: • Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis • Polio • Measles, mumps, and rubella • Hepatitis B • Varicella (chicken pox)" This is just for Nebraska, I'm sure the requirement vary from state to state each with their own waivers and process to exempt students. I would guess that the vast majority get the required shots. So, @Archy1221, no I'm not wrong. It took 30 seconds to figure out that schools require vaccinations. Yes, @teachercd is correct that there waivers. Also, for those curious you can view the CDCs website to see what vaccinations are recommended or required for foreign travel: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/the-bahamas Vaccines are required for all kinds of things, this is normal and necessary for public health.
  4. My point is, the government shouldn't let inmates run the asylum. Just because idiots make up a sizeable portion of the population doesn't mean they get to dictate the rules. So, if OSHA wants to mandate it, it's no different than any other requirement for work. Which includes proper disposal of wastes, providing protections for workers, training, etc. We require children to be vaccinated to attend schools because it's in the interest of public health to do so. Requiring a COVID shot to attend work is no different than the requirements to work, attend school, or travel abroad.
  5. The OSHA's goal is to protect people on the job. If people want to quit because they don't want to wear a hard hat or whatever else, let them. The governments job isn't to take into consideration the idiots that think hard hats are a conspiracy, it's to protect workers from workplace accidents. This isn't different. If your employees or any other want to quit, they will. They will also find the other employers require vaccines as well - assuming it holds up in court.
  6. Do people quit their jobs if OSHA requires hard hats on a job site or if employees are required to have any other safety measures? If people want to be stupid and quit their jobs, let them.
  7. Avoiding to answer, again. It's funny, you can't even lie and say his actions didn't cost any lives. Come on, just say one way or the other: Did Dr. Atlas's influence on President Trump cost American lives or did it not?
  8. You are correct - he was not the head of the Task Force, but was brought on as an advisor - despite not being an infectious disease expert or epidemiologist. I was incorrect in stating as much. He was a rising star within the Presidents' inner circle of advisors, as Trump enjoyed his view regarding the pandemic. So I ask you, again, do you think Trumps choice to bring a non-expert advisor from a Republican Think Tank was the correct move? Do you think it cost the lives of Americans? I've asked you many times, and your lack of response causes me to think you actually know the correct answer.
  9. Very good points. Toure being out on that last play was suspect, since he creates so many problems. He at least would draw a lot of attention to open things up for a few of the bigger guys. As for our team, I'm not encouraged that Nebraska is going to be able to beat Wisconsin next season, which will be a full decade since our last win against them. Unfortunately Nebraska fans and those in the administration find our lack of success, player development, and recruiting acceptable. Wisconsin is simply a better program, let's hope we beat them by 2031 so as we don't cross a two-decade threshold between wins against them.
  10. Then say it. If you believe that Trumps decision to have Dr. Atlas head the COVID Task Force - who advocated for natural herd immunity - did not cost lives, just say so.
  11. That's because you know the answer is yes. And you voted for it, twice.
  12. In fairness I should've said "extremely limited mitigation". Do you support his policies? Do you think they led to any unnecessary deaths?
  13. At least we're doing to lose with a Nebraskan as head coach. That's all that matters. ❤
  14. Don't know what to tell you. You have quotes from Atlas himself suggesting individuals in states with strict protocols should "rise up" due to his belief that such measures are not useful and a well sourced article written by the Washington Post detailing the beliefs he shared with the rest of the COVID Task Force. I get it. You have to rationalize your support for a political party. I'll never convince you that climate change is real just like I'll never convince you that Atlas is a hack that got people needlessly killed. Party allegiance demands it.
  15. I don't think it's uncommon for this to happen. I think the potential for public outrage is very high with either verdict. I haven't paid that much attention to the trial, but it seems like he's innocent of the most serious charges (but could possibly be found guilty of lessor charges). The main problem with this case is the pervasive gun culture we have in this country. Strapping yourself with an assault rifle to go across state lines to wait for a moment to use your gun might be legal, but we do have to confront some deep issues we have that encourages this behavior.
  16. You're ignoring two sources claiming the opposite. But I guess that's what Republicans do when faced with difficult decisions. You don't want to believe in human caused climate change (despite overwhelming evidence) because your parties stance says so. You don't want to believe that Trump appointed a quack Doctor to led the COVID Task Force because your party would look bad as a result.
  17. HAHAHAHAHA. I get it, reading is hard. But, the guy advocated for natural immunity for nearly the entire country except for people in nursing homes. This is not the defense of Trump that you think it is. The guy did not believe in mitigation for the general population because he's a quack. Your defense of this is quite amazing - but hey, you either defend the indefensible like you're doing right now or confront the reality that the guy you voted for (twice) is an incompetent moron who needlessly got an untold number of Americans killed because he listened to this guy. Oh well, for the mere cost of thousands of Americans your boi got two Supreme Court Justices, congrats!
  18. Nice deflection. It can't be that Presidents aren't really responsible for rising inflation, right?
  19. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trumps-den-of-dissent-inside-the-white-house-task-force-as-coronavirus-surges/2020/10/19/7ff8ee6a-0a6e-11eb-859b-f9c27abe638d_story.html To quote the article: "Atlas shot down attempts to expand testing. He openly feuded with other doctors on the coronavirus task force and succeeded in largely sidelining them. He advanced fringe theories, such as that social distancing and mask-wearing were meaningless and would not have changed the course of the virus in several hard-hit areas. And he advocated allowing infections to spread naturally among most of the population while protecting the most vulnerable and those in nursing homes until the United States reaches herd immunity, which experts say would cause excess deaths, according to three current and former senior administration officials." Hey, it's cool bro, I'm sure nobody was harmed by this!
  20. Gun culture in America is an international embarrassment. It's what you get when you fuse the efforts of extensive lobbying with an entire political identity.
  21. Not as VP, but prior to that he's must famous for his open letter detailing his belief that tobacco doesn't kill (don't let those monsters on the left scare you from thinking otherwise!!) To be fair, that sort of rejection of reality more than qualifies him to be Vice President among the GOP.
  22. I KNOW!! I miss the days of alternative facts more and more. Question: if Biden has anything to do with inflation, why is inflation also up in Europe and China? I guess that cabal of America hating Democrats is stronger than we thought!
  23. Asking the public not to remember stuff is pretty much their entire party platform.
  24. I think not relying on quack doctor - Dr. Atlas believed in natural herd immunity and believed masks and social distancing did not help - is important. I think the Biden Administration's messaging on COVID is superior. They continue to advocate for mask wearing and for vaccine usage. The Biden Administration held consistent COVID Press Briefings, 3 times per week using a science based approach. The Trump Administration held briefings but they eventually had notable gaps - often a month or longer - because of the sheer incompetency of Trump. They no longer wanted to deal with embarrassing moments (like injecting bleach or touting ineffectivetreatments). The Biden Administration has not had anything close to something that embarrassing and still advocates for mask usage, vaccines, and for social distancing for the unvaccinated. The Trump administration also handled the coordination and logistics battle of the pandemic poorly. Ultimately they left huge portions of the pandemic response up to individual states, leading to confusion and a slow response. There are reports of the conference calls, involving most of the state governors, delvolving into confusion and asking questions without a response. (Never forget Kushner telling the press that certain resources belong to the Federal Government, and not to the states). States eventually bid against each other on resources like PPE, Oxygen, etc. driving up their cost and making the pandemic response uneven and less effective. The Biden Administration, in contrast, holds meetings with states three times per week and uses federal authority to set standards for pandemic response. Honest question for you, do you think more Americans died because Trump allowed a psychopath like Dr. Scott Atlas to head the Coronavirus task force? A person who theorized that social distancing did not work, masks do not work, and that the country should aim for natural herd immunity through infection without mitigation.
  25. I think Fauci to his credit tried his best to publicly say things so the base of the right didn't think he was insulting the President. Most on the right dislike him anyway. But honestly, use your own eyes for once and stop seeing what the party wants you to see. Fauci was eventually not involved in COVID press briefings (before they were stopped for long periods after Trump said extradinarily dangerous things multiple times), Fauci was eventually not involved in the COVID Task Force meetings (Trump opted for Dr. Atlas, a choice that likely cost the lives of thousands).
