  1. Completely agree....no reason he shouldn't be given a shot over Alonzo "stone hands" Moore
  2. I agree if you are talking about a lineman who has repeatedly shown his lack of knowledge of the playbook; however, I was respectfully disagree with your presumption if you are basing it off one missed block (which is very similar to the weak logic used above in this thread)
  3. Well obviously that is correct. However, I would argue not knowing what you are suppose to be doing on any given play could potentially resullt in a turnover. For example, a lineman, who doesn't get the block he was suppose to, could potentially cause a fumble when the quarterback is sacked. I just don't think ONE play should be evidence as a player's lack of knowledge of the offense.
  4. Couldn't disagree more. He's got big play ability and has clearly shown that he can catch too. Especially with the injuries we have at that position. Get this guy in space and watch out. Until he proves us wrong how could you not call his number more. Sooooo....he doesn't know the offense well enough to stay out of the way of our other receivers routes ( a good sign he's running the wrong route) but.....he has play making ability so he should be on the field..... Got it...... You are criticizing another poster's logic, yet you are using one play as evidence to the player's knowledge of the offense. Additionally, yes, most teams do in fact play their best playmakers.
  5. That's awesome. Not my kind of music, but any song about Nebraksa football is great in my book...GBR
  6. 70% is a little over the top, but when you need a score badly, he should obviously be featured...basic sh#t that escapes Beck blows me away! Honestly, I'm not upset with the number of carries AA is getting. Rather, I agree that he needs to spend more time in the screen/check down situations. That would net him some nice all purpose yards without sacrificing his on the ground running totals. But, on the other hand, centering 70% of your offense around a single player is bad for the team. Just look at tOSU. Miller went down, and their season with him. If anything, I'd like to give AA ~25 carries per game, and hopefully another 8-10 passes/screens, and split another 10-15 carries between Armstrong (on the read option) and the backup RB's. This is assuming about 75 plays per game. That's a pretty balanced offense, and keeps Abdullah adding to his yards. Then again, if we keep pounding Ameer up the middle and they aren't stopping him... well, maybe just rotate Cross in every once in a while to give Ameer a breather, but otherwise keep at it. I meant to qualify my position to being involved in the play 70% of the time whether it be as the primary option or secondary option. Thus, the offense isn't totally focused 70% of the time on one player. I think this can be done by running a variety of read option plays and keeping Armstrong's passing reads to a minimum where he has 1-2 reads then a checkdown (or qb keep given the checkdown is covered)
  7. There is absolutely no reason our offense shouldn't revolve around ameer...he should be involved in 70% of our plays whether is be an inside/outside run or a screen/check down....how do you fail to utilize this kind of talent? I know many are calling for Bo's head, but I think Beck needs replaced. I like Bo and think he's a good coach, but If is unwilling to let go of Beck, then he must go too. There is absolutely no reason that Ameer doesn't get more than 10 carries in that second half (i.e. assuming its not a blow out already). Furthermore, if Ameer won a heisman because we gave him the ball 70% of the time, then think about the advantages that publicity would give our program. It would give us a recruiting advantage, improve team morale, etc.
  8. "Game ball on offense goes to Beck. We all know what AA can do, but to do it a lot depends on Beck. Perfect blend on offense today" 780 yards total offense....I would have to agree
  9. Play calling has been extremely impressive. With that said, it would seem easy to do when you have someone as good as Ameer on your team....
  10. How can we not cover screen passes? The most basic play in passing football history?
  11. After playing a fictitious version of the game in NCAA 13, the projection is 63-44 with Nebraska winning (i.e. I put in Nebraska's projected starters but did not put in FAU's projected starters, I also played on Heisman, and I skipped all defensive plays). However, my personal belief is 52-17 with Armstong leading the way!
  12. To all Husker fans...I will be attending my first Nebraska game when they play at Northwestern (i.e. haven't been able to attend a game because I am a poor college student and live in Illinois). Being from a rural area and having no clue as to the scenery up there in Evanston, I was wondering if there is a particular lot that Husker fans usually tailgate? If not, I was wondering what bars are particularly interesting around that area? Having a few drinks beforehand and talking to fellow Husker fans seems to calm my nerves as I'm sure many of you agree ....thank you for your responses and can't wait for this season! GBR!!
