  1. Put me in coach, I am ready to play! Wednesday works for me!
  2. Not a bulls fan, but he needed to go. Players showed frustrations with him in the media. He literally did not play a guy because he was not grabbing enough rebounds( he actually wanted the player to get these numbers to play him) despite scoring a ton, which helps you win. He benched Zack Lavine one game and then Lavine went off the next game. His rotations also made no sense whatesoever and ruined the chance for players to get in a rhythm. From what I have heard and seen he called timeouts with 1 minute to go down 20+ multiple times as well. Players filed a report to the players association 8 days into his tenure. He held practices after back to back games which is not smart and led to a 56 point loss to Boston. The organization may very well be failing. But no way should this guy be your head coach acting like a dictator and hated by players. As an assistant coach, he has coached on some great teams. Just a guy that can't get out of his own way as a head man.
  3. Okoli was the stud we needed. He was #1 on our defensive board. It is not over yet for him but I hope he feels the need to play closer to home. The other guys you mentioned are probably who we get this cycle. The thing is we have a lot of dudes coming back next year and so we need at most three guys for the Dline for 2021. Wouldn't take a Juco guy out of the mix either as we have taken one the last couple years. Wilkins probably wanted to stay home and play for a school that is doing better than us atm. When we start winning these guys form the coast will come play for us.
  4. Heard we might be talking to him. Apparently met with Frost according to someone who said he was Oliver's cousin. Not sure what to make of it but take it fwiw and thought I would pass it along. It could be interesting because we have Miller on the team and so there is a connection that could make it possible. Might be one of those walk-on and get a scholly when you get here situations since we are full for 2020.
  5. He was also #1 on the staffs board. This one isn't completely over but we shall see.
  6. Gunnar will most likely go to the Horns. However, you will not disrespect my man FidoNe. He is the #1 recruit on our board and this staff is fighting to get him. Game changing TE in this offense. Rollins will still be a take for this class though so you are correct.
  7. LSU is recruiting him very hard and the Coach O is involved heavily. If there are no official visits, that would help us very much. Also this tidbit is very awesome for us.
  8. Dang, a class of Burkhalter, Payton and Schweitzer would have been terrific for OLB recruiting. We still have other guys on the board who are solid. I think it could mean we are sitting well with T. Lewis, his twitter indicates that at least. Actually it means he is N. /s
  9. Arguably Nebraska's top LB recruit on their board. If not, he should be as close to the top as possible. I kind of see it as a 1a 1b scenario for ILB. Burkhalter is still a stud and is #1 for OLB. Terrence Lewis will still be recruited- you add him even if you have a bunch of LBs for 2021. I don't see us taking all 4 of these guys, but could definitely see 2-3 of them coming here if they want N. ILB 1a Deshauwn Alleyne 1b Wynden Ho'ohuli OLB Christian Burkhalter has the spot whenever he wants it. Add Lewis if he wants in- he does not seem solid to Tennessee but is still committed.
  10. He was told false information by another school that delayed his commitment. Not sure what I would do but being told info about a coach leaving would be terrible to hear the day I was signing. No signs of "high maintenance" in my opinion and you have nothing to back that up in your post. Now with a global virus his family wants him closer to home or maybe he wants to be near his family. Nebraska is drastically different than Florida. Frost and co definitely want his talent as you can watch the highlight film and in a year or two he would be competing to be a starter. I count this transfer as a big loss because he could add an element to our Defense that I haven't seen under Frost, force turnovers. He got countless interceptions and was excited to see him add something to the team, but can't fault him for leaving and next man up.
  11. Well the reason we parted ways with JD Spielman was due to the fact Brown was just better than him. Now that you read my sarcasm, I agree completely with you and I know nothing of an injury. I sure as heck hope there isn't one. Honestly, Alante would get somewhere between 600-800 total yards this year with JD leaving in my view.
  12. He has to do this to please Husker fans in my mind. The safest and best method would be 10 games because we have more possibility to have off weeks and less games where there is exposure to other teams. I like what he is doing but in my view 10 is the way to go. I applaud him for adding to the discussion as it is definitely something worth talking about.
  13. I am not a doctor but I just wanted to give some insight on some later start dates for the 2020 season. I found the discussion in the thread interesting and decided to add to it with potential days we could start with B1G only games. Instead of cancelling the season they will just push it farther and farther back until they have to move it to Spring or cancel. These, in my mind, are some potential dates they move it back to. To answer your questions- 1- It is to move the schedule back to get safest start date for a 2020 season. I outlined a few of them. Number 1 was regular start time which is looking less and less likely. 2- Has nothing to do with my post. Many are going f2f with cleaning measures and social distancing. 3- It ensures we start at the safest time possible. There is a possibility we have no football or we move it to the Spring where some schools have moved fall sports to. 4- They will play even if there are cases in the country. No way we can get it to zero for a long time.
  14. Here is an idea I thought of that could work. Instead of starting the season on time with cases increasing, we just start it at a later date. 10 game season(possibly less) only for this year and we start after these dates. 1) Start the season on time after Labor Day- becoming less likely. 2) Start the first week of October- when regular conference games start anyway. 3) Start after Halloween- the schedule would just move back the playoff, CCG, and bowl games 4) Start after Thanksgiving- might have to condense the season some and play 8 games instead of 10. Teams would play 2 opponents outside their division- for Nebraska hopefully Rutgers and PSU, but more likely OSU and PSU. 5) Start when regular bowl games are played/middle of December- might condense the season to divisional games only then the CCG and go to playoff/bowls. For those that play less games like the Pac 12, they just play an extra game during CCG weekend to get to 6 games or they just play the closest team in the other division. The goal would be to end the season by late Feb/early March. 6) Start first week of January and play all 10 games. The goal would be to try and get the playoff by Easter. Spring practice is all but gone in this scenario. Numbers 3-6 would prevent an entire Spring ball season. Spring ball is cancelled most likely and fall camp can start earlier to make up for those practices. Another possibility is no contact practices in May/June when new students arrive as a Spring practice. Thoughts?
  15. I trust Fisher's eye and you should too. Not sure what to make of this but we have a stacked room where this young man can develop and improve his game. It also is only July and he could get a ratings boost or have a monster senior year. His dad played in the NFL so he has been around the game for a long time. Maybe Fisher sees something many of us don't see that he likes. Recruiting rankings are going to miss many prospects this year and he could be one of them that they haven't evaluated correctly. More offers could be on the horizon for this young man and that could also bolster his rating. With no camps at all, he can't really show out so we have to just wait and see here. I trust Fisher and he is one of our best recruiters so I am not worried at all.
  16. Ruud went out to see him a few times from what I have read. I think we have higher prospects on our board that we are waiting on. This does not take anything away from this player, but once we figured he was Kentucky bound we focused elsewhere in my opinion. Look for the ILB from Hawaii, Christian Burkhalter from Alabama, Terrence Lewis will have us in a final 3 as guys we close in on for LB. I am missing a few as well. We are sitting well at LB for 2021 so we can be selective for our final 2 spots.
  17. Hey Mav, great list! I just wanted to point out that Dasan McCullough is in fact a 2022 recruit from the Kansas area. I would also add Malik Williams to the CB room. However, everything is fluid, so next list he might be on it whereas in a month it could change one way or the other.
  18. We do have a punter on the roster- William Przystup. He will compete with Cerni for the #1 spot.
  19. Supposedly good to go academically. Can commit at any time now. Expected to be here in mid to possibly late July if he commits to N. Hearing we are the leader but nothing is a for sure deal until the player makes the decision. A nice pick up by the staff if he is N. This would give us two cycles in a row we get a solid JuCo addition in the summer and he is a great replacement for Gray if he takes our open 2020 spot.
  20. I found a nice article for those that are interested in the numbers left for the 2021 class. https://hailvarsity.com/s/9701/big-red-recon-huskers-heating-up-on-recruiting-trail A few things on his numbers on certain positions. -I think we take 2 more WR's. -We are done at O-line- outside of Geno VanDeMark who you take no matter what. -I think we take 3 DBs as we graduate a few but the room is fairly stocked. -Everything else looks spot on to me.
  21. I know numbers are not in great shape to take another Offensive lineman. Geno is one I believe we just cannot pass up on if he wants N. I do not see us taking anyone else on the O-line, so if we miss on Geno we will be done recruiting O-line for 2021. I think he would make a great center and that is a possible position where he can learn under Cam for 2 years and claim that spot. His versatility stands out as to which position he can play and he would be the best lineman in this class. So if he ends up at Center, Guard, or Tackle I want him. We are behind Rutgets as Mav said, but if he commits I still see us go after him because they could have a disaster season for year 1.
  22. I would gladly take this guy, but not sure how much of a chance we have. If we do not land him he might head to Baylor if they have a spot.
  23. I have said this before. He is the #1 target on our defensive board. Pair him with Tobin(who is underrated) and a solid NT and that is a wrap for the D-line class. I also think it is important we lock up the KC area because they have tons of talent that we have not taken recently.
  24. Mbow may have a chance if upperclassmen move on. But we are still very stocked if 1 or 2 people leave or transfer. Ezra has a very nice frame and most of it is in the upper body, which is good for an OT. He possibly could play inside for us as well but I definitely see us using him on the outside. He is also a walk-on( will get a scholarship very soon) for this school year. For 2021, we have other needs then O-line to take care of to spread the numbers out. The evaluator in his profile did a nice job explaining what he is good at in the link below. One thing I like is his run blocking is solid. However, his pass blocking was not seen a lot because of the offense he was in, but can always improve with the right coach for someone his size. https://247sports.com/player/ezra-miller-46035446/
  25. I still think we take him. One of the seniors next year will probably be told to move on. Bando, Sichterman, Hixon will all be on notice if they do not make the 2 deep. Regardless, we are where we need to be on numbers for offensive line. I am just saying if someone leaves, retires etc. he might have a spot available.
