  1. Yeah, that was bizarre. As I recall, it's not like the safeties were trying to cover two guys or something like that. They just totally failed to have anyone anywhere near our best WR. And Tommy still almost threw a pick with a YOLO bomb in the endzone.
  2. Speaking of stars, our jersey's should have 5 stars on them to represent each Natty. That's how they do it in soccer, and with Adidas big in the soccer game you would think they would have thought of that.
  3. You might read the title of the thread for starters. Harbaugh vs Riley - The Movement. Okay...so these have to do with Nebraska because they supposedly stole our very general recruiting catch phrase? Michigan had a guy decommit because they sent him a letter thanking him for attended an event he didn't attend. McShane then tweeted about "checking a list twice" and about Parrella contacting that kid.

  5. If he doesn't play will you promise to post after every game "Where is Tre Bryant?"
  6. I wouldn't hit the panic button yet. Having a strong arm is great. But IMO its better to be accurate and a good decision maker. Gebbia is said to have a cannon I think.
  7. Overall takes from Sam after 2 weeks of practice: LINCOLN — Nebraska’s offense hasn’t looked quite as good in August scrimmages as it did last season. Receivers aren’t running free. Backs aren’t galloping into the secondary. Chalk that up, to some degree, to an improvement in Nebraska’s defense. The defensive backs are better at everything. The linebackers are faster and more experienced. The complexity and diversity of the scheme are improved. And the defensive line, while it doesn’t look nearly as good on paper, may not be that far off the 2015 version, when you factor in a new coach, more motivation and a lack of personal agendas. The offense, at least right now, looks pretty much the same. It’ll hum and purr for a while, then sputter out with a penalty, negative play or turnover. more -> http://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/mckewon-husker-defense-shows-progress-offense-looks-about-same/article_2989c575-3b95-56d7-8cb5-597bc1424cff.html
  8. Sam's take after 2 weeks of practice: » Offensive line: I like the tackles — Nick Gates and David Knevel — a lot, and their relative excellence in practice may have reporters worrying more about the four-man pass rush than they should. Gates and Knevel look the part. Utter, at center, is there to direct the line. His snaps have been pretty good, generally. At guard, Tanner Farmer and ... Boe Wilson? It appears so. Wilson has been a pleasant surprise. He’s strong and he moves well for a young guy; he looks like Farmer, to some degree, although Farmer is bigger and more powerful in the run game. Jalin Barnett is a house of a guard who can drive a guy 5 yards back if he latches on right. Barnett is a work in progress as a pass blocker. The tackle situation is interesting. Christian Gaylord and Cole Conrad are two of the backups, and as long as Gates and Knevel stay healthy, you’ll see Matt Farniok redshirt. Farniok has “excellent” written all over him, though. You see why he got so many scholarship offers. He’s aggressive and he moves well. Michael Decker is the backup center — pencil him in to start for several years — while John Raridon and Bryan Brokop are headed for redshirts, but will be good scout-team guys. Watch for Zach Hannon and walk-on Sam Hahn at backup spots in the interior, and Corey Whitaker, once he returns from arthroscopic knee surgery, may get a good look at guard. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/mckewon-husker-defense-shows-progress-offense-looks-about-same/article_2989c575-3b95-56d7-8cb5-597bc1424cff.html
  9. Sam's take after 2 weeks of practice: » Wide receiver/tight end: One of the most talented groups Nebraska has had in years. Several legitimate NFL prospects — tight end Cethan Carter might be at the top of the list — give Armstrong and the rest of the quarterbacks every reason to succeed and little room for excuses, presuming the protection holds up. Reilly, Alonzo Moore and Stanley Morgan are a strong trio on the outside, with Morgan being a high-level blocker on top of being a good pass-catcher, while Moore and Reilly make acrobatic catches downfield. De’Mornay Pierson-El, coming off a knee and foot injury last season, doesn’t quite look like the same guy, but he hasn’t shut it down yet and he’s important as a punt returner. Pierson-El doesn’t seem to be hitting top-end speed a lot. Why? Watch for freshmen JD Spielman — a converted running back still learning the position — and Derrion Grim, along with walk-ons Gabe Rahn and Bryan Reimers. Another walk-on, Conor Young, is a year away. Among the other tight ends, Sam Cotton is a giant target who should be better in the red zone than he is, while Trey Foster is a nice blocker in short yardage. The team doesn’t have a proven guy behind the three seniors, and that’s a huge problem — for next year. Westerkamp should be the first name in the section but, in a sense, he’s better as the last one, because, when Nebraska absolutely needs a jump-start play, when it’s down to its last shot, it’s Westerkamp to whom Armstrong looks. Westy’s the bedrock — perhaps of the whole offense. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/mckewon-husker-defense-shows-progress-offense-looks-about-same/article_2989c575-3b95-56d7-8cb5-597bc1424cff.html
  10. Sam's take after 2 weeks of practice: » Running back: Ozigbo seems like the most complete and, in some ways, most confident back. I like how he lowers a shoulder when he reaches the second level of the defense and how he doesn’t slow down much when he’s hit. Newby may get the first snap of the season, and appears much more efficient this season as a runner — at least in scrimmages. Not as much dancing. Wilbon makes the most guys miss and has a burst that can get him to the corner. Tre Bryant could burn his redshirt, and he’s a great runner in the open field, showing surprising toughness in tight spots. Does Nebraska need him this year? We’ll see. Harrison Jordan, Graham Nabity and Luke McNitt are the fullbacks. McNitt is a nice pass-catcher, Jordan is a tough blocker and Nabity is a mix of the two. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/mckewon-husker-defense-shows-progress-offense-looks-about-same/article_2989c575-3b95-56d7-8cb5-597bc1424cff.html
  11. Sam's take after a couple weeks of practice: » Quarterback: Armstrong still rushes some throws and puts passes in spots that invite trouble. He’s making some effort to look for the running backs, but his predisposition is to scan downfield and look for the big play. And when he flees the pocket it’s still fun to watch. Intrigue often awaits. Third-and-medium remains an iffy situation. Fyfe, meanwhile, slings it around and does better work in the pocket than he does out of it. He’s pretty sharp within 15 yards; he doesn’t have Armstrong’s big arm, and he doesn’t create nearly as much with his legs. Since AJ Bush transferred, Patrick O’Brien is the No. 3 quarterback. He’s not ready to go win games this season, but O’Brien has clean footwork, a good delivery and a pretty good sense of how to complete short passes. He does not have a strong arm and he’ll need to throw certain passes with more pace. Tanner Lee has the strongest, most accurate arm among the quarterbacks. On the routes that Riley and Langsdorf like — those intermediate, deep out and dig routes — Lee is the best. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/mckewon-husker-defense-shows-progress-offense-looks-about-same/article_2989c575-3b95-56d7-8cb5-597bc1424cff.html
  12. What the bloody hell is the problem here? On 8/14 Obama signed a Disaster Declaration giving the area federal funding for relief. On 8/18 the LA Governor basically said that Obama should wait to come as everything that comes with a presidential visit would distract resources from the recovery.
  13. We totally should have rotated Wilson in last year. Wait...
  14. I will be voting for Hillary and this is close to where I stand. Has she done some interesting things? Yes, but so have many other politicians that have been elected to high offices. I see her as a continuation of the past 8 years, which have been fine for me. I also hope that the Rs remain in control of at least 1 arm of Congress so that the Ds don't have free reign to pass legislation. Would I like there to be a better alternative? Yes. But personally my conscience won't let me vote for a 3rd party because I want Trump no where near the White House. If the race was Trump vs Bernie I would be preparing to move to an island in the Caribbean right now.
  15. OSU is wearing those against OUR team
  16. Vince wand Mo were pre signing day. And didn't we "over sign" on NSD to account for 2 or 3 spring/summer departures (McMullen/Thurston)? Hovey was on scholly? Didn't think of Foltz. So we were at 84 during the summer, then 82 after Bush left? Or are we still short?
  17. Where did 2 of these these come from? I thought we were at 85 coming into camp?
  18. Under. Tommy is who he is O/U: 900 yards for leading rusher on team
  19. Huh? He had like 400 last year. We've never had a QB rush for 1500 yards. Way way under. O/U: 6.5 games defense allows 300+ passing yards
  20. Ohio State knows how to do alternates. Modernized throwbacks. Also any chance we could be doing the same thing on the road in Columbus?
  21. Bad Tommy showed up today? https://mobile.twitter.com/swmckewonOWH/status/767084984729415680 https://mobile.twitter.com/swmckewonOWH/status/767085174378987523
