  1. Charlton Warren & Willie Jones. Warren's only been here for a year under Bo, but Jones has been here for seven-ish. Funny story about Willie Jones. I ran into him downtown, he looked familiar and with the Husker gear I presumed coach. We had just hired on a new O Line coach and for some reason, I asked him if he was John Garrison. He gives me a "you're crazy" look and says, "Man, Garrison's a white guy!" In my defense, I was super tired and I really don't pay attention to race. And I had never seen a picture of either Jones or Garrison. Yeah, he's so new to the staff that I forgot Charlton even worked for Bo. I don't think I've even heard of Willie Jones. I went to college with Willie Jones. I could see him say that he's a funny guy The guy in the N polo freaking out is Willie he's an assistant strength coach
  2. Interesting he says we need speed when he was a very good LB and wasn't very fast, but smart. Times have changed some and it's about impossible to coach speed. But you can coach some other things. I feel linebacker you have it or you don't. You can improve yes but it's more instinct like you mentioned with Bray. You have it or you don't and you are constantly trying but out of position a lot
  3. Yes, Willie was kept! Yes willie is kept! I've known him since college years ago. He played on our college football team. Solid guy
  4. As much as tart frustrated me that kid could fly and could turn a busted play to a TD. He put in a ton of work to improve which did help. But when he took a hit he scared me he would cough it up AA and Rex QE, westy and bell
  5. Lol funniest thing I've seen all day
  6. Msu just won in a thriller. B1G looking pretty good
  7. Hate to say that statement. But it helps the big 10 and the Huskers Glad MG put up 251 rushing on the SEC and stuck it to Auburn ' s running back for his little shot at wishing he would have played northwestern, Purdue, etc. Am I off my rocker or everyone else agree too?
  8. I agree it's fun to watch. They have been taking big chunks of yards
  9. 21 unanswered points. Dang it. I'm not trying to be negative but why does this always happen
  10. Agreed it's like any other coach. They can have the skill but it kids don't like him. They won't care or won't work for him. It's a blend of a lot of things
  11. I have a master's in exercise physiology and a CSCS (certified strength and conditioning specialist) what most div 1 strength and conditioning coaches have. But I would not be able to do a good job at the div 1 level. It's like coaching. Experience and learning from greats. Not certification. Although you do have to have that If he is it. I'd be anxious to see if he has the experience or skill to take our guys to the next level
  12. Got a hunch.... Brungardts? I remember Tim because my favorite Husker shirt at that time had #32 on it, which happened to be him, so I naturally paid closer attention. So it was my Tim Brungardt shirt. What everyone failed to tell me was that it was my brother's hand me down and it was actually an I.M. Hipp shirt bought roughly five years earlier. The fake field goal in the '83 Oklahoma game is still one of the greatest things I've ever seen.... why it never gets mentioned in the lore of other famous Osborne trick plays I'll never understand. Nope Peterson. Uncle was #83 I don't think he played much at all. Cousin was #15 in 2003 and 04 and #4 in 2005. Was a backup free safety and saw limited playing time. But still cool they got to wear the uniform and go to bowl games and just be in the atmosphere. They both walked on I think. I thought about it too but figured it would never work out and I have enough student loans from a WAY cheaper college so I might not have been for the best. Husker66 that is awesome, would have been a hell of an experience
  13. I was born, bred, and bleed Nebraska. Was born in Norfolk to a Husker loving family. Agree with others that I feel there is something genetic there. My family has lived in Norfolk forever. My grandparents were huge fans, my uncle ('81-'83) and cousin ('3-'6) played for the for the Huskers. Grew up wearing Huskers gear ever since I was little. My uncle was a strength coach there with Epply back in the day when things really started up. My Grandfather was a state senator and they have had season tickets since the 60's or 70's I think. Remember thanksgiving weekends and Christmas time bowl games. Remember Beringer, Crouch, Tommie, Aman, Phillips, peters, wistrom ( my uncle helped recruit him I believe), blackshirts, etc etc etc. too many great things. Wish I could have been alive or old enough to remember all the old time Oklahoma games. Too many things made me a Husker. And now I get to pass that to my son. He's 2 now and has gear and decorations all over. In the hospital he had his cradle roll picture with Huskers stocking hat and The day I brought him home from the hospital we watched out first Huskers game together a day I will always remember. My wife has embraced out fanatical nature of Husker love. Born bleeding Red and Red till dead. Lunchbucket
  14. Those videos were great. Nice job! Keep making them next year
  15. Imani doesn't look like he has any moves. More of a bashes and straight ahead. Can't see the lanes and cut thru them. Maybe too big/heavy? He's a specimen though..beast Newby haven't been super impressed but he's young. Could come on next year a lot. Don't remember Nelson haven't see the rest Agreed we have been spoiled with Rex, AA, helu...hell lots of great backs.
  16. I dont think that TA could be a running back...he just takes to long to get started...he always looks like he is stuck in mudd until he gets his stride. He also seems very hesitant to pick a spot and go. And he fumbles too much I see greatness in TA. Needs coaching and maturing. And tuck the ball and run like hell if they WR are covered. He's a big bodied guy get a few yards or bust one open for a long run. Just hold onto the dang ball. He makes me nervous when he gets hit.
