  1. If it's really someone's opinion that 2+2=5, or that we never went to the moon, or that Elvis is still alive, or that whites are a superior race, or whatever, it's not that it's my opinion that they're wrong - it's that factually, they are mistaken. "...or whatever"? How can an unknown something be considered factually false? And as previously stated, most of your examples are not somebody's opinion but factual inaccuracies. The only one that really can be considered an opinion is your example of whites being a superior race. I don't happen to agree with it but I suppose it depends on what criteria a person is using to determine superiority. Likewise, a person may be of the opinion that Trump would be a better President. That isn't a "wrong" opinion and it is not factually supported as being definitely false. It might be at some point, if he ever became President, but it isn't now. Things that are actually an opinion cannot be right or wrong. If it can be proven with facts, it isn't an opinion. Maybe that is what you were trying to say.
  2. Found this interesting. Normally not a source I would cite but, if you watched the debate last night, you probably noticed this....I sure did. It's definitely worth a look if you think what is being presented to you by the media is not being manipulated. http://libertynews.com/2016/10/busted-debate-camera-crew-caught-rigging-hillarys-appearance-using-camera-filters/?Ref_ID=38253
  3. I'll buy that but a wise person would chalk up that margin of victory to the opponent being so poor rather than HRC actually "dominating" in the debates. A halfway reasonable and intelligent and less bombastic person would have mopped the floor with her.
  4. The only winner in any of the 3 debates was Chris Wallace. Thought he did an outstanding and fair job moderating #3. The other 2 were biased and lost control. I thought Clinton did poorly in all 3 but Trump was definitely the biggest loser in all 3. He may have some (I said SOME) valid talking points but when it comes to actual policy details he has none. Sorry Donald but simply saying you'll make America great again or you'll fix the economy or whatever hot button topic he's spouting, people would like to hear how, not just that you'll do it and she won't. I don't think she will either but at least she has details on how she's going to f#ck things up. All DJT has is a bad attitude and unprofessional disposition that we know will cause more problems than it solves. I got my mail-in ballot a few days ago and still not sure what I'm going to do. The thing I do know is that I will not be voting for either one of these worthless human beings.
  5. Why would she want to interrupt him? He does more damage to himself all on his own. She could remain completely silent for a whole debate and "win" it regardless of his post claims of victory. And this is coming from somebody who despises Hillary...

  7. Good article, great writer. I usually like his stuff. Thanks for linking.
  8. I find it strange that anybody on either side of this cares. If you don't like the sign or the message, ignore it and/or don't patronize those responsible. Simple. And I really don't understand why or how an atheist organization organizes and tries to convince people to join their way. What can they offer other than "don't do what you're doing"? They've got nothing to offer. I think knapp hit it on the head, they seem to be anti-theist more than atheist and I dont see the point in that. Guess I don't have to...I didn't pay for the sign and it doesn't matter to me at all. They can advertise all they want, only the weak would be affected and if somebody is that weak, maybe they need to look elsewhere for answers.
  9. Sorry zoogs but you are failing to look at this in the same way many others happen to see it.Hillary simply is not an option for many. Not only that, she stands for what many detest and most want to defeat. Liberal, progressive, lying, cheating, status quo, extension of the last 8 years, career politician that games the system and takes advantage of the common folk to bebefit herself, just to touch on the obvious items. Clinton simply isn't an option for many and, in fact, is what they feel must be defeated at all costs. And I think some of that cost is going outside a person's comfort zone to vote for somebody that spews hate, racism, misogyny, even to the point of supporting someone who has proposed nothing of substance. That is how bad many want to see what HRC stands for defeated. I know, I am very close to being in that demographic. But I simply cannot vote for or support a person like Trump. It is just too repulsive for me and trips way too many of my values. As for the other options....those aren't really options. I thought Johnson was my out but the more I learn about him the more I realize what a flake and idiot he is. Stein? Much more of the same with even worse policy. Abstaining? That's the chickensh#t way out. I understand all too well that many many voters feel there is no alternative because there isn't one. Right now, if I had to vote today, I've got it narrowed down to two choices; write in "they all suck" and check that box or go ahead and vote for the clueless idiot Johnson and hope that wasted vote sends some kind of message to the R's and D's. Don't let your political leanings cause you to think that there are really options for all voters. There are no options for many once you accept that HRC is not an option. As detestable as it may seem, many view Hillary as a worse choice than Trump. It's a fact that people need to recognize. It's also a fact that a lot of opinions aren't based on fact, but on exaggerated fears and disinformation manipulated for political purposes. I can recognize that many view Hillary as a worse choice than Trump. Who'd argue with that? But please respect my fervent and patriotic desire to keep that man out of office. I have absolutely no problem with anyone trying to keep Trump out of office. I don't want to see him elected either. I was simply trying to explain how some Trump voters may have ended up where they are without necessarily being racist misogynist pigs like the dipwad they plan to vote for. Hillary's sure no ray of sunshine either. Being better than Trump isn't an achievement anybody should brag about. I could go to the local jail and find a busload of less morally and ethically challenged people than either of them. I still cannot believe this slate of worthless candidates out of 300,000,000+ people. It's like we're on that island in Rudolph only it's misfit politicians instead of toys.
  10. They may be putting the cart before the horse, it might be more like.... business owners, presidents, VP's, etc. are more likely to be republican. Of course, what a republican really is today might require some extensive caveats. I still feel like the same moderate/conservative type I've always been but I don't think I can identify as a Republican anymore.

  12. I see Trump supporters and Trump voters as a different demographic. Obviously all of the Trump supporters are Trump voters, but not all of the Trump voters are Trump supporters. What you're talking about in this post is the voters. Yes, I see what you are saying. But, I also feel quite few of the Trump supporters got where they are by having no other option. I think some may simply be voters who have ended up being supporters because "that's what you do" with the candidate you plan to vote for. Of course some of this is just me trying to rationalize how apparently so many could support what Trump stands for. I'm sure there are way more than I would like who really think he is some kind of answer. But that thought scares me so I try to come up with other reasons.
  13. dudeguyy, I don't think it will be all that hard to repair and heal after Trump loses. You've got to remember that many of the Trump supporters do not have another option. Hillary simply represents way too much of what has them disillusioned in the first place. I understand it all too well as I could never vote for Hillary. Luckily, I could never vote for Trump either but there has to be a whole bunch of people who feel it has to be one or the other. The situation we are in is as much to blame on the way our two party system has evolved to work as it is about anything either of these cadidates really represents. I refuse to believe that there are that many people that Trump appeals to. But, it easy to see how many feel they have no other viable option. It may take 4 years of ugliness and another brutally painful election cycle but if we can get just one candidate that is not as polarizing as Trump or Clinton, I think we will be able to return to a fairly normal situation and back a whole bunch of people off the ledge.
  14. 2-1 on the week, 12-9 overall +$210 Week 8 locks (All B1G games-I must be crazy) Wisconsin -3.5 Indiana +1.5 Illinois +35 I think Michigan will win big....but 35? Had to take those kind of points. I would take Wiscy x3 if that kind of thing was allowed.
  15. I'm Ok with 9-3 this year but I really don't see where loss #3 is going to come from. I don't have a lot of hope for beating Wiscy or tOSU but writing off Iowa as a loss.....I don't get it. At this point, I will be disappointed with more than 2 losses but 9-3, and the way we've been finishing games, is a hell of a lot better than what we threw down last year. Of course, this is assuming we don't revert to losing games in the same fashion we did last season (that would be disappointing). This really looks to be a much better team that has worked out a lot of bugs. Heck, I'll be a little disappointed if Riley doesn't pull out one of his trademark upsets with tOSU or Wiscy.
  16. You guys are probably right. Nebraska has "arrived". We can now overlook opponents and plan ahead for tougher adversaries down the road. I mean we don't need our best players to beat the likes of a Purdue. What was I thinking? That we should maybe wait until the Boilermakers game is in hand BEFORE pulling our top guys. I must be crazy.
  17. Wow...9-33 So, I think they need to call Ken Niamulato (Navy), Les Miles and P.J. Fleck. All would be great hires for them. Let's be honest, any hire for Purdue is likely to be an improvement. I don't view them as being in the market for the top 3 available coaches.....could be wrong. I just hope the team doesn't rally around the interim coach and play way over their heads this week. People are talking about voluntarily resting players, taking it easy, etc. Uh hello, McFly, Purdue beat us last year and we haven't exactly taken anybody out behind the woodshed.
  18. Yeah, terrible review IMO. They must've had some video angles we didn't get to see cuz I never saw the ball touch the field.
  19. Is Urban coking it up? Everytime they cut to him he is wiping his nose.
  20. Seems eerily familiar.....except we do the same thing with only four.
  21. Well they did steal our colors, uniforms and pipeline mentality....Thanks Barry. Alvarez, not Obama.
  22. Both of these defenses are going to give us fits unless our OL improves (gets healthy?) a LOT in the next two weeks. I sure didn't think I'd be saying this after last season but I think our D can do enough to put us in position to beat both Wiscy and tOSU, it's our offense that is going to have to click to get it done though. I sure hope Banker turns up the heat a couple notches. We seem to do so much better in passing situations when we get reasonable pressure on the QB. Won't be able to play with either of these teams in safe mode. And Langs is going to have to call excellent games. Couple tough ones coming our way.
  23. High point was when Newby's knee was clearly down before the ball came out and both of the idiots are saying there isn't indisputable evidence.....wtf? and then the way the ref announced the review overturn?
  24. Hey, on the plus side, Ed "that's targeting" Cunningham only said the word targeting twice. This cannot be.
