  1. Would you vote for him if he got the nomination? I think that's the issue here. He clearly is getting a lot of the Christian vote in the primaries. Or at least the "Christian" vote. No. I will not vote for Trump in any circumstance. Same thing goes for Cruz and Hillary and Sanders. I think something to keep in mind here is that we are talking about strictly republican primaries with an extremely poor field. To some extent, primary voters have to pick one of the morons.
  2. Lol, it was almost exactly like that. I think we can count that as a pancake.
  3. Well I'm Christian and I don't support Trump. There goes that poor attempt to link the two. Unfortunately, the Republican party also has a significant portion of the uneducated white trash population in it's camp. I'm guessing that is the contingent that is carrying Trump so far. It surely isn't educated people or practicing Christians. The choices in this Presidential election are even worse than the last couple. That's saying something, something not good at all for the direction we're headed.
  4. Coyote Gold ready to serve Margarita. Get some.

  5. Been on a Coyote Gold Margarita kick lately. Stuff is awesome for a premixed ready to drink marg.
  6. Sorry, I'm having trouble caring one way or the other. This falls into my Jerry Springer/Maury Povich classification of lowlife trash behavior that doesn't affect me one iota. Real ladies wouldn't fight and a gentleman would've stopped them. If that's sexist, so be it.
  7. I remember that topic ;-) I don't really think "cheating and unethical" applies to the problems of the mid 90's teams. Those teams just happened to have some characters and others with some legal troubles. I wouldn't catagorize any of it as cheating and you would have to really twist some of the situations to even say any of it was unethical. I know there is a certain group who believe TO's actions were unethical but I'll never see it that way. I think he just got burned a few times while trying to do the right thing for some questionable players.
  8. I like his show when I watch it.......a little bit. Too much of him can go a long ways though. I am usually not aligned with his politics but I like his humor and presentation.
  9. I bet Mark Richt was a really cancerous head coach as well. You can play naive if you want but you should know better. Not every coach that gets fired gets fired for the same reasons. I thought we were talking about Bo Pelini, not Mark Richt. And, the cancerous environment was not the only reason. I thought you were paying attention these last few years.... Your post said that Bo's environment was so bad, that as a 9-10 win coach he got fired for it, as in, got fired because of the cancerous environment. So was it the only reason or only one of several? What percentage did it play? Was it more or less a reason than 7 years with no championships and repeated blowouts and embarrassing showings on national tv? Can you make a spreadsheet showing all of the individual factors, their respective percentages into why he got fired, and how they correlate with one another? I have made that exact spreadsheet. It details each and every factor, the percentage it played, and it has been signed off on by ADSE. But I don't feel like posting it. Sorry.
  10. Funny. You stated that almost like a fact rather than an opinion. Much like the drivel the Pope talks about God is stated as fact? And yet here you are sharing your wealth of knowledge in a thread about the Pope. #luckyus

  13. You guys can quibble all you want about Bo creating or not creating a toxic atmosphere surrounding the team. Personally I don't give much credence to guys now saying it wasn't that bad. You know how bad it was? Bad enough that a perennial 9 win coach got fired for it. Guessing that's a pretty good indicator that things weren't all sunshine and roses.
  14. Absolutely agree that Trump is being un-Christian and that the Pope is right. But, I guess I would like it to come out from the Pope in a little less harsh manner than the way that quote presented it. I mean Trump is right about some of the stuff he says also but the delivery sure could use some adjustment. Sometimes there's more to it than simply speaking the truth.
  15. I didn't say he "can't" question someone's Christianity or that he is unqualified to do so. But, it just isn't a good look in some circumstances. As the head of the church, he should be (and I believe he is) concerned about bringing people to God and God to the people, not condemning sinners and those who may deserve some harsh words but rather showing them grace and forgiveness. I think he does a pretty good job of that. I converted to Catholicism from Lutheran about 20 years ago. I don't happen to believe that the Pope is any more "Christian" or "special" than any other human being. But, generally speaking, they do have a much better idea what it means to be Christian than the average Joe. They've lived it intimately virtually their whole life. They aren't recruiting Popes from the twice a year club.
  16. I would agree that if the Pope questioned his faith or "Christianity" level, then the Pope was out of line. However, if you look at how the issue was presented to the Pope and his complete answer, it is more like his response was based on a hypothetical situation. He stated something to the effect that "if Trump had actually said/done these things......" It was almost as if he was not aware of Trump's position and therefore I think his response could be taken less as a specific attack on Trump's faith and more as a general statement. Not a huge difference but maybe a little better than directly stating Trump is not a good Christian which does not come off well from the leader of the Catholic Church to say about anyone. Or possibly he meant it directly for Trump......I mean Trump does have a lot of positions that would not align very well with many commonly accepted Christian positions. As far as the Pope being a pawn for Mexico, nah. He is just a lot more concerned about the downtrodden than Trump is. That's pretty much his job and the job of true Christians. Trump's job at this juncture is to say whatever will get him sound bites on the news and gather more votes from people who are fed up with the status quo but apparently don't apply more brain power than just being angry about something.
  17. Congratulations! You kept a post under 14 paragraphs long. Good job.
  18. "Systemic" problems of the Catholic faith? Please go on.....
  19. Please expand upon these disagreements with much/most of what Pope Francis advocates for. I've heard him advocate for a lot of good things so I'm curious what you may be taking issue with.
  20. So the Donald wants to risk alienating most voting Catholics......? Bold strategy Cotton, let's see how that works out. This is exactly why this a$$ should not be elected President. He may very well have some valid points on the issue but he has zero diplomatic tact. That may play well at times, on specific issues, but is this the type of dialog we want to have within the international community? It's one thing to pop off to Ted Cruz on an issue, it's quite another to respond this way with other world leaders.
  21. If it was as simple as just hacking this one specific phone, then I would side with the government in this case. But creating software that doesn't exist or that the government or others could use to hack any iPhone.....yeah, they can go pound sand.
  22. Need help cutting the fjord.

Cut that fjord! And make the river run freely!

  23. Just a little explanation for my no vote. I think there is room for a person to have moral issues with homosexuality without being labeled a bigot. To earn that bigot moniker, I believe takes more than what we saw from Scalia. As our priest was saying in his homily a couple weeks ago, all persons are worthy of oour love and respect but that does not mean we have to accept and condone all their behaviors and beliefs.
