  1. make that 61,009 because my zip is not nebraska but me and eight friends will certainly be there.
  2. I agree, however I think that he will soon find out that nfl scouts are going to be interested in seeing more than one or two good games. However, we all know he has the ability, experience is the question. Still, I am not holding my breath that he is going to the "show".
  3. Hey guys, This is my first chance to weigh in on this game since I recently moved to K.C. and don't have a home computer yet (i'm at the library) but I gotta stick up for the coach on this one. Yes I was frustrated by not throwing one time on 1st down the entire first half. Yes I was frustrated by running pitches to the outside 3 different times on third and short. Yes I was frustrated by playing deep off of SC receivers and letting them dink and dunk screen passes and out patterns all day. However, I think there was a definite method to the madness. Coach C knew that if we were to have a chance ball control was going to be the single biggest issue of the game. He also knew that running the ball, stopping the run, and winning the turnover battle was the quickest, if not most exciting, road to victory. We ran the ball, we stopped the run, we controlled the clock. If there isn't a botched handoff, a number of dropped interceptions, and a few other miscues we are right there in the fourth quarter. So when people say that callahan was playing not to lose rather than to win, I think that in this particular case, that was the best strategy. The best defense possible is to not give the other team the ball. I do think that we played a little to conservative, but if not for the few problems listed above, we may have won and people would be singing praises. Coach callahan realized that USC did have superior size and athleticism on offense and that no matter how good our defence is we didn't match up with them. Example, 3rd and 22. They had that all day, except when we had the ball.
  4. I was always a fan of the Nigerian Nightmare Christian Okoye!!!!!!!!! you couldn't tackle the man.
  5. I had a BK classic chicken w/ cheese combo king sized with a dr. pepper. MMMMM...........cholesterol.
  6. Ha, ha. If you scroll down it says that Dylan Meier was named the starter over that silly sally Josh Freeman.....aww poor Josh, did coach princess lie to you? P.S. I still hope that Freeman gets to play against NU this year so carriker and the boys can mash him into jelly.
  7. I love this site and I lurk here everyday.........but........I am so damn excited for this season that I almost can't take it anymore....all this talk about depth charts and everything just makes me sick. I am slipping into a black hole without husker football and this site just keeps reminding me of how great life is during football season and how boring it is now. I must now go try and sleep for 5 days until kickoff. anybody else having these feelings?
  8. Didn't know if anyone listened to the dan patrick show on the radio yesterday, but he had a good interview with turner gill. They mainly talked about the new trend of big schools paying 1AA teams to come play. Turner basically said that he didn't care who he had to play he was there to win and he teaches his kids the same thing. GBR!
  9. I heard on CNN headline news that Keller was planning on coming....I guess that gives a little (not much more at all) credibility to the story. Wait and see.
  10. I was just sitting back today fantasizing about the upcoming season and, of course, the USC game came into mind. I do think that we will be able to move the ball, but my question is about the defensive side of the ball. Do you guys favor an aggressive blitz package that will leave one on one coverage with the stellar USC receivers, OR do you think we should lay back, force them to run the ball and rely on the front four to get pressure on the qb. Pressure, I believe, will be the only chance we have in this game, where it comes from is the question.
  11. If you go to snakesonaplane.com you can send a personalized phone message to people from samuel l. jackson. I know the movie looks stupid, but this is hilarious. try it, you won't be dissapointed!!!
  12. I'm moving from cincy to K.C., I hope to go to the iowa state and k-suck games....will they sell out? I've never been to a husker road game.
  13. funny movie, however, clerks 2 is the way to go if you have the choice, both were great though.
  14. I live with my wife's family right now and all I eat is indian food.....sooo goood, but sooo painful.
  15. MMMM.....Taco John's and Runza.....you guys are making me hungry. Next to Memorial Stadium those are my two favorite places in NE. Here in Cincy all I have is White Castle and Big Boy. They're ok....but can't hold a flame to TJ's and Runza.
  16. How surprised was I when I got home tonight when I turned on the TV and saw football!! I know it's just preseason NFL, but I still love to see that pigskin fly. Fabian Washington started for the raiders and just had a nice return on a pick.....thought he might go all the way!
  17. love his vision and ability to cut upfield in the hole. Seems to have the mindset to always be going forward rather than sideways. Go Gettum boys!
  18. In my humble opinion the goal posts should never come down @ memorial stadium. That only happens after a huge upset. We should never be shocked to win at home, we should expect it every time. Just my 2 cents.
  19. don't know if anyone heard about this but I guess jarrett (USC's WR, not dale u nascar crazy's) is currently ineligible to play due to not paying enough rent to Leinart's dad when they lived together. don't know if it will stick, but might be interesting to keep on eye on. the story is on the four letter network's site.
  20. any relation to myron rolle?? if so florida's chances go down....unless of course him and myron don't get along, in which case florida's go up!
  21. IMO, if octavien has a good season he will stay. If he has an all american season he will go. Anything less than that, I believe, will give him reason to stay. After all, he hasn't even played 4 quarters of D1 football.
