  1. Because the only written instance of this happening is a single tweet. The only corroboration to it is from a poster who said Armstrong was retarded, so forgive us for skepticism against someone with bias so strong he insults our own players. I believe I called him stupid, (a widely held concept) not retarded Nice that you are calling reporters liars because you say you don't have enough evidence to suit you. gotta love it! Oh, ok, so that totally makes it better. And FYI, that's literally journalism 101. You provide a source or proof. In the day of twitter, everyone just cites "sources" and every rumor is given credence. SMH... Everyone can get away with it nowadays. However, in many cases, information is often Tweeted out, substantiated by "sources," corroborated by other journalists and then the experts in the situation (in this scenario, the players and coaches) offer statements or answer questions in relation to the Tweeted material. By what I'm seeing, this story at best got to stop three and the corroboration by other journalists was spotty and inconsistent at best. We shouldn't even be talking about it at this point because of this. As I stated previously. My source is involved with the football program and is not media. I will not reveal who it is. However, based on their observation and the local medias reporting of the situation, it seemed to be swept under the rug. Maybe because it was perceived that it was not a big deal. Who knows.
  2. Well my source is somebody who is involved at practice and on gamedays. I was unaware an ESPN reporter tweeted about it. Interesting indeed.
  3. Armstrong walking out of practice an hour early the Wednesday before the Iowa game. Just wondering.
  4. Gerry's comment (where you're basing your opinion) contradicts every single thing the players and coaches have said for the last year. And Ameer's play was great, but it was a tie game. Also, we won, which is slightly different than getting blown out by Purdue. I think you don't know the difference between an opinion and a fact. If you consider a 10 point loss to Purdue a blowout, what do you consider the beatdowns we took at the hands of Pelini?Did you watch the game? NU was down by 39 points at one point or something crazy like that. To a team that averages 1 fbs win per year over the last three or four. I think it was around 19 but what is 20 points when you are trying to make something into a lie that it is not. Get your facts straight before you start posting guesstimates. Nebraska was down 42-16 heading into the 3rd quarter against Purdue and they had the game in hand by then. We were trending worldwide on twitter and social media. Nearly everyone was shocked by the score and the fact that Mike Riley was our head coach. That loss goes down as one of the most embarrassing losses in this football program's history. Radar notoriously posts without facts. Disregard anything he says.
  5. you seem like I really good evaluator of coaching ability based on your statement. I highly regard your opinions from here on out. Sincerely, Steve Pedersen
  6. I agree. If I played for coaches in college who were adamant about a system that was proven not to be efficient weekend after weekend, I would relocate to a better lead/coached program.
  7. But why didn't we see these up and coming talent play this year? Cav selected his guys to start and stood by them the entire year. The only change he did make was put Sterup at guard at the end of the year. And that worked out pretty well didn't it. Another off season in the weightroom and a little more coaching and they will be ready to take over. Isn't he gone though? Also...what are they going to do differently in the weight room? Radar often makes uneducated posts I've found.
  8. I don't get it. Yeah, being a spoiler isn't the position we should be in, but it's the position we find ourselves in. You say all of this as if it would just be better if Nebraska loses: at least they'll fit their pathetic role. Absurd. No. I say this as Nebraska should be an actual contender in arguably the worst division in FBS football, not a bottom feeding footnote. Yeah, that's really absurd. Well said.
  9. Gerry has many years of experience at a very high level. He knows what superior talent looks like at first glance. I played baseball through college. I can watch 2 pitchers throw a 20 pitch bully and decipher who has the better "stuff" based on that quick evaluation. So I very much believe the opinion of a seasoned coach and analyst. But if it can somehow still be Bo's fault then fans like you will be content until Riley is shown the door.
  10. you never made it past flag football did you? It gets a little more intense when you strap it up.
  11. No it's all Bo's fault Riley is losing here right? I mean come on guys! It's gotta be that darn Bo still. Oh wait... Logic kicking in. It is Riley's fault that a team he has coached for ten months has no fire or passion to play for him. That is all on Riley. Bo's recruits or not, you have to be able to inspire. Gee heck.
  12. the football program generates 75 million a year. So yea football.
  13. No offense to Scott, but i really dont want that offense here. And im also not the "we need to run it every play, or bring back the option" guy. I like TRUE balance with an emphasis on imposing your will with the running game as your browser identity. Like USC in early 2000s, Alabama since Saban, Ohio St. for quite awhile now. Control the ball. You are obviously an offensive mastermind with outstanding credentials so you're opinion is highly regarded. What are you trying to prove? Did i say that anywhere? Im just stating my opinion in what id like to see. Isnt that what a message board is for? So take your high and mighty attitude, your noob ass, and btfu! What you like/want and what works at Nebraska are two different things. I think it was the tone in which you stated your opinion that was really annoying to me. Either way I seemed to have rustled your jimmies pretty good. Enjoy your Sunday.

  15. actually you do win games if you control the clock in the fourth quarter. That's a key part of the game. Right? I mean come on... Right?
  16. bad play calling appears to be the main culprit. Which there was in the fourth quarter. Even the announcers did a "hear we go again" on that drive with three straight pass plays. So yes, when there is bad play calling there will be complaints. Especially when you are 3-4. Comes with the territory.
  17. I think this game and the wisconsin game were the best coached/played games.
  18. Tommie's completion percentage is in the 30's his last couple of games. The perception may be that he is getting better but the numbers tell a different story.
  19. I kind of wonder if this is the largest reason for not running Tommy as much as everyone would like. We're worried enough about the season already. If Tommy goes down for the season, we are officially screwed. not necessarily. Riker stepped up last year against michigan state and actually got the offense to click after being stagnent for 2 and a half quarters. He seems to have better vision than Tommie. Tommie is more gifted however.
