My guess your dad was slightly different generation....age thing. At the time in 72-76 era, I was basically a wild punk kid, i.e. drunk and/or high as a kite (weed) in duty, threshold Article 15 punishments, etc. until eventually settled down my lifestyle (1979 marriage ). yeah he was at the end of his career and retired in 76. We lived out at the AF housing until he retired then moved into town. Back to topic. Does anyone have a pic of the east stadium with the new field in it? i am trying to find a good one that i can use for desktop background

Me too, Air Force career from 1975 thru 1982 (Det 10 radar site). Half of my civilian friends in Queen City (Hastings) was never ventured Lincoln trip ! I'm serious......not once. Believe it or not, I only spent 5 or 6 times in Lincoln trips over 7 years AF career. In fact, I never paid attention for Cornhuskers football at all until moving to Lincoln. Clowney hasn't had his senior year yet, so we'll see, but Suh had 11 pass break-ups, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble in his senior season. Clowney had 2 pass break-ups and 3 forced fumbles last year. Edit: Just realized he was only a Sophomore last year. So I have to say I can't agree with you yet. Here are Suh's Sophomore stats: 22 Solo 12 asst 34 total 6 TFL 1 Sack Clowney wont make it to his senior year. He will go to the NFL after this year unless he gets hurt, but then he may still go pro.

We can't get recruits here for one of the biggest home games (if not the biggest).... yes, it may possibly help with the early time slot for "jet-lag" internal clock issues, but not sold on the fact that their guys haven't been through this before. plus... it sucks for me.. that's all I am worried about.. "Numero-Uno". I am officiating a wedding for a former football player of mine. I was hoping to an afternoon wedding and a night football game. Oh well, the wedding is an honor to do....... he just better hope Nebraksa wins or has the lead, or I may not smile in the pictures...ha Who the hell schedules a wedding on a home football Saturday?

I have always believed that the TEAM should selects for the captains. also agree that the 11 starters on defense for the first game should be given the Blackshirt. If they don't perform to standard, they don't keep it and have to earn it back.

the bad thing for me is, until I retire from the Army and move back to Nebraska I will only be able to go to 1 maybe 2 games a year.

I've got the same problem. I haven't been to a game in Lincoln since my cousin played.. (we lost 4 of the last 5 I saw ...and that was durring the Osborne years) The very 1st game I went to was the week after one of Tom's teams finally beat OU to reach #1 and we lost to Missouri. The last game I watched in person, we lost out here to ASU 19-0...I got to be Soooo superstitious about my presence at Husker Games, I turned down tickets to the Fiesta Bowl game out here against Florida..Just circled the stadium with my Siberian Husky finding old classmates until the game started, then went home to watch us annihilate the Gators on the tv. Someday I still hope to make it back for a Spring game with my Son and to celebrate our birthdays. (Old Girlfriend, my Best friend from UNL, his Wife, Mine are a day apart). Wow, I was at both of those games at Sun Devil Stadium along with the Husker/Vols Fiesta Bowl
