  1. I don't see a point in giving Riley a pass even if he cleans house. He's the problem. These are "his guys." He hired them and he's not known to fire assistants. Continuity is great when your program is winning.
  2. You really think we will beat Rutgers now? They might just outscore us like Purdue did.
  3. Second verse, same as the first. These mistakes are coachable and fixable. Ryker did exactly what Tommy did last week. Fixable. Players play. Coaches coach. You can look on the sideline and tell that everybody is going through the motions right now. We get what you're saying but at the end of the day, accountability must always, ALWAYS fall with the person running the program and that is Mike Riley. You can look at other coaches who have turned programs around or have simply won. Mike Riley is a career .500 coach. What part of your brain doesn't understand that? He couldn't even win in the NFL.
  4. Some of us do. I remember when Frazier was on the sidelines with his blood clot. Had he not been there for his team emotionally, there's no telling what could have happened.
  5. If Memorial Stadium is all green or yellow this month, some people are going to be in for a rude awakening.
  6. This. Political move. Fire "your guy" to save your job. I think it could happen. Much more probable today than yesterday. We gotta do it. Eichorst has to. What else is there? Put the 2016 season up in the air to mirror 2015? Eichorst needs to ask himself if it's worth the risk in the long run. He had a vision in his mind and that vision completely failed. The only thing he can do to save his job is first convince Riley to step down if not, he's going to have to pull the trigger. A lot is at stake here. Nebraska has to get a proven winner not a career loser, not a middle of the pack type of coach but someone who has proven their worth, proven that they are a winner.
  7. Eichorst can save face by letting Riley go and accept the mistake, cut the losses, state that a search firm is in place to restore the once proud Nebraska football program. There's several options out there.
  8. Wow Ryker nearly threw it 50 times for 400+ yards... and we lose 55-45. Riley = Bill Callahan 2.
  9. These are the records of Nebraska football teams through to the end of the month of November: 1891 1-2 1892 2-2-1 1899 2-7-1 1941 4-5 1942 3-7 1943 2-6 1944 2-5 1945 4-5 1946 3-6 1947 2-7 1948 2-8 1949 4-5 1951 2-8 1953 3-6 1956 4-6 1957 1-9 1958 3-7 1959 4-6 1960 4-6 1961 3-6 2015 3-6 1962 Bob Devaney hired goes 9-2-0 finished with winning records through to the month of November. Never finishes with a losing record in his 10 seasons as coach, wins '71, '72 National Titles. 1973 Tom Osborne is named Devaney's successor and never has a losing record through November in his 24 seasons as head coach. Wins '94, '95, '97 National Titles. 1997 Tom Osborne retires as the winningest head coach in Nebraska football history and names Frank Solich as his successor. 2002 Frank Solich goes 7-6 through November.2003 Frank Solich is fired after going 9-3, never finishes with a losing record through November.2004 Bill Callahan finished 5-6 first losing season in 43 years dating back to pre-Devaney, 1961.2007 Bill Callahan finished 5-7 and is relieved of duty.2008 Bo Pelini is hired, goes 9-4, 8-4 all the way through November2014 Bo Pelini is fired with a 9-3 record. Never finishes with a losing record through November.2015 Mike Riley is hired and is 3-6 in his first year, could be facing 2 more additional losses which would leave Nebraska at 3-9, the worst record in 54 years dating back to 1961.
  10. Hey, the season can't get any worse. There ya go.
  11. Yep. It's what brought us all the hardware. You forgot to include all the conference championship trophies in your signature David Shaw? Herman? Dude...Either would be a slam dunk. Herman's recent success vs. Shaw's stability. I don't know if Shaw would leave Stanford unless we offered a lot of money but I love his coaching style. Bruising rush offense and tough as nails D. And I believe he is a defensive minded coach, I'm not 100% sure. Herman on the other hand would seem like a long shot... USC I think has him on their radar.

  13. Football is a team sport. If everyone is not on the same page, the wheels come off. All it takes is for a couple people not to "buy in to the system" and the system ends up being f*cked.
  14. At this point, I'd take the 2007 offense and defense over Riley's. No way we finish 5-7. We're going to get beat by at least 3-4 scores today, curb stomped at home next week, beat on the road vs. Rutgers and curb stomped at home vs. Iowa. This is the reality.
  15. thisThat's all it is? I bet we could raise that in a week. BP's was $250,000 FWIW.
  16. No sh*t. Need to get back to basics and run the damn football and this staff is not the one to do that.
  17. Okay let's try AJ Bush or Darlington play em all. F*ck it!
  18. Can we start a GoFundMe for Mike Riley's $1 million buyout?
  19. I have never been so fearful of losing the home sellout streak until today.
  20. How's those positive emails look now, Eichorst?
  21. Yeah the ISU game was just a big WTF. Didn't we have like 4 TO's inside the ten yard line? Ya Niles Paul fumbled a go ahead score right on the goal line.
  22. Need the right captain to guide the ship and recruit, recruit, recruit. Focus on the offensive and defensive line's. You can truly build a football program from the trenches.
  23. Let's say this all together... We're losing to 1-6 P U R D U E
