  1. We finish 3-9 there is no way Riley is in Lincoln for another year. That I can tell you. The checkbooks will be out come December.
  2. 2004 we settled for leftovers 2007 we rolled the dice and took a gamble 2014 we make a retirement home for ex-Corvallis coaches
  3. Beat #1 USC. Wow was that when Oregon State won the Pac-10? And that happened nearly a decade ago before he became a washout. They won a few division titles and beat Oregon a lot too.
  4. Maybe Tony Dungy will come out of retirement and save Nebraska. He does have great respect for our program even Jon Gruden has great respect for Nebraska. Maybe we lure him away from ESPN. Money talks and Nebraska's great tradition still lives on with many people. Our so called fans are content with mediocrity it is heartbreaking.
  5. I'm not going to read through multiple paragraphs of a post. We hired a career .500 coach. This is the result. Lets call a spade a spade. Michigan and Florida hired proven coaches who have won and did big things. Harbaugh turned Stanford around, took the 49ers to a SB. McElwain completely turned around CSU. Quick, give me a time Riley and his buddies did something great that stands out on his resume.
  6. Today, I would disagree. The LB's were counted on a lot today and more often than not, they made clutch plays. Our secondary is all scheme at this point IMO. We HAVE talent back there but its being driven into the ground by an incompetent coach. I have no idea how the secondary coach is still employed.
  7. The OP makes valid points. I was furious as to why we kept passing on first down as well. At one point WI got penalized and it was 1st and 5 and we just kept tossing it around like a hot potato... what the heck? And when you're shuffling running backs in and out of the game like they're on an ice hockey shift, you've got problems. We have no identity to hang our hats on, nothing but predictable mistakes.
  8. Hell... I'd take Frank, Ron Brown, Turner Gill back in a HEARTBEAT.
  9. By the way, looks like Kelly to U$C is going to happen. At this point, we either gamble with an up an comer like Florida and go grab Tom Herman or a proven head coach. Herman would be a breath of fresh air. Look at what he is doing with Houston!
  10. Money talks. Go ask how Michigan is doing. How about Florida? Oh wait, just flip the channel and see for yourself!
  11. I think you're related to me lol. Your posts lately are exactly what I am thinking. We've got to get a proven successful leader here. We caught lightning in a bottle twice with our predecessors. The program can still be saved but MR is not the man we need.
  12. I don't think the players are buying into the coaches and neither are the fans so... the boosters are next, right? Maybe this time we can hire a firm/search committee and get a proven HC to resuscitate a dying program.
  13. I respectfully disagree with the direction this program is being taken. To further depths we go.

    WTF

made a thread on this very point earlier. Mods deleted it because it didn't fit their give Riley another chance narrative. Oh well peace out huskerboard. Huskermaxdotcom here I come! Bye bye. Waste of money, I tell you. This place is much more friendlier.
  15. I meant 0-7. Can I not change the thread title??? Crap. Well, I guarantee we go 0-7 the rest of the year! Yay! Go Huskers #1! Home of nice!
  16. Well, we had zero turnovers but I saw at least 4-5 throws by Armstrong that could have easily been picked off. Sparty will get those though.
  17. None of those coaches inherited a team that had nine wins the previous year. None of those coaches had career 500 records And all of the coaches were in recruiting hot beds and already stacked. Nebraska is not.
  18. We sure as hell did NOT hire a proven winner ala Bama, Ohio State, Florida, Michigan.
  19. The only click I am about to hear is when I load my pistol and blow my brains out all over my 95 Huskers banner. Big Red is dead.
  20. Watched HS footage of JS. He is pretty athletic. Then I compared that to Mikale Wilbon's HS and based off of that, it really looks like Wilbon is faster. Kind of scratching my head as to why they don't create a package suited for Wilbon's speed. He is wicked fast.
  21. I don't buy Riley's message about JS only doing kick returns. Like he said himself, it really doesn't make sense to burn his red shirt. He kind of tip-toed around the question from the media. I have a feeling JS is going to be in the in the backfield on Saturday along with Ozigbo so we have that 1-2 punch they've been looking for.
  22. Ozigbo is likely going to take the job. He has the prototypical size Riley wants at running back.
  23. You're skeptical, I can understand that but would you rather be in the dumps like most every other fan OR support your team and believe they can accomplish a 7-0 run? I choose winning. And I think this fan base will be rejuvenated after Saturday.
  24. See, you're not right in the brain. You'll get there. Winning will heal your pain.
